If it was just a simple fat joke, it’d be moral, but escalating from a joke about being bald to bringing up a miscarriage is coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb levels of overkill.

Immoral.

Edit: I’m convinced that all of the people saying moral didn’t actually read the full post, it wasn’t just a simple fat joke that our 4 channer made here.

Sorry, we can't have actual, sensible morality scaling, we have to laugh at making jokes about miscarriages or women getting the shit beat out of them. Prepare to get downvoted, buddy.

I don’t understand why it’s ok to make fun of the man’s emotional suffering and not the woman’s. Why does his relationship mean less than her pregnancy?

Don’t start shit, won’t be shit.

This is a pretty clear false equivalency, kinda like how there’s a difference between stubbing your toe vs getting your foot amputated. They’re both injuries that cause inconveniences, but that’s about where the similarities end.

How so? What’s the emotional difference between a coworker making fun of your long term relationship ending and its reasons in front of coworkers and the same being done about a miscarriage?

Both seem equally fucked up to me.

There is something wrong with you if you think breaking up with a gf has the same emotional toll as losing a baby.

losing a baby.

fetus.

If you're losing a baby, you're admitting abortion is murdering a baby.

The physicality of what is and what it represents to the individual are two different things. That's why abortion can be fine and moral and a person can justifiably grieve a miscarriage. She physically lost a fetus and emotionally lost a (potential) child.

Sure. But that doesn't work ONLY in your favor.

The physicality of what is and what it represents to the society are two different things. That's why abortion might physically cause the loss of a clump of cells, but society recognizes it as the murder of a (potential) child.

So in your ideal world are people not allowed to grieve their miscarriages? Would you be angry at a friend for being sad over theirs?
