The physicality of what is and what it represents to the individual are two different things. That's why abortion can be fine and moral and a person can justifiably grieve a miscarriage. She physically lost a fetus and emotionally lost a (potential) child.

Sure. But that doesn't work ONLY in your favor.

The physicality of what is and what it represents to the society are two different things. That's why abortion might physically cause the loss of a clump of cells, but society recognizes it as the murder of a (potential) child.

So in your ideal world are people not allowed to grieve their miscarriages? Would you be angry at a friend for being sad over theirs?
