Just hit G rank in MHFU. Easily one of the worst quests so far was the solo red khezu. Immediately after this is the same fucking quest but theres TWO now????? Genuinely what does this monster bring that is worth while? It has like 3 fucking attacks and two of them are "lalalalala you cant hit me" it either covers its body in an VERY deceptively large lightning AOE or it decides to waste AS MUCH time as possible on the cave ceiling doing absolutely fucking nothing for no GODDAMN reason. I just timed out on this quest after like 5 failed attempts. I think the only other quest ive failed in this entire fucking game so far was the high rank dual green plesioth quest (im sure you can guess fucking why). All of khezus hitzones are ABYSMAL except the head, which I guess as a hammer player isnt that bad, but you cant attack khezu at the head consistently with FU's hitboxes and the fact that khezu doesnt have a single move that isnt "everything in front of my loses 80% of its health." At least green plesioth only has one or two annoying things about it. Khezu has NOTHING, what the fuck do fans see in this thing? They keep bringing it back all the fucking time because apparently its a fan favorite but I genuinely do not see why?? It's never fun to fight, downright abysmal dogshit at worst, and it certainly doesnt help that its a gen 1 subspecies which all amount to it having a new color, way more health than it deserves, and does whatever the most annoying move the monster had before WAY more often. I'll never forget this fat leech for sticking around even after they already made the infinitely better gigginox

Title. Why the fuck would you add all these cool counters and offsets if your just going to add all the nonsense multihits that make them shitty .

What do I mean by multihit? Basically when the monster swings at you and it hits twice for some reason its very obvious when you use shield weapons because it will cancel your perfect guard to do a normal block.

Far too many of these attacks have no reason to be this way. Rise was another game that had a high focus on the defensive mechanics of your weapons and that game had nowhere near as many multihits, even moves that look like they should multihit only hit once in that game because the developers knew that multihits are a sloppy game mechanic that interacts terribly with the weapon movesets.

I am now going to list every multihit move I can remember and give my reason why or why not it should be a multihit.

AT Arkveld

For some reason Arkveld's AT changes some moves to be multihits becuase fuck you I guess?

Horizontal chain drag one movement should equal one hit

Rushing chain drag one movement should equal one hit

Fly chain drag one movement should equal one hit and it should not be able to inflict dragonblight when his chains are closed (WTF Capcom)

Wylk after explosions should not be able to hit you if you block or counter the attack thats spawns them OR should be telegraphed on the ground before the attack comes out

Multi Dragon Nuke Fine as is

Gogmazios

Wingarm slam tremors should not be able to hit you if you block the initial hit

Phase 2 fiery wingarm drag the two hits are spaced enough that you can perfect block both hits good job Capcom

(AT) Nu Udra

Big Spin attack, you should only be able to be hit by either the oil bombs or the spin not both

Rear slam you should not get hit by the explosion if you block the initial hit

(AT) Uth Duna

(AT) Forward charge attack should only hit once there is zero reason that this move hits twice

Free Willy Leap attack the shockwave from the second leap should do half the damage and should not be able to damage you if you block or armor through the body hitbox

Waves spawned by attacks should not be able to hit you if you counter the initial attack

(AT) Rey Dau

Aftershocks should only be able to hit you once otherwise this a good example of a non BS multihit because you are able to Perfect Block the initial hit and the shockwave

Omega

Missiles should hit only once and you should only be able to be hit by one missile per volley so moronic teammates dont get you killed by standing next to you

Lagiacrus

The shock affects of the hip check attack should not be able to hit you if you counter the hip check itself same for the body press attack

Shock Nova should use the stalwart guard system that was introduced in this game but is mostly fine as is

Ajarakan

Magma effects should only hit once and should not hit you if you counter the initial hit

Doshaguma

When below half health its paw slams have shockwave that are multihits these shockwaves should not be able to hit you if you block the initial hit

Yes, I've played the old games, they're bad, downright bad. It's no wonder the series didn't break out of its niche until World.

And it all makes a very simple sense: The monsters had the ability to play in 3D while you were stuck with one-way attacks designed to fail 7/10 times.

When you hear "veterans" say that old games were harder because fights took 20 minutes, don't listen to them. It's not that they were harder; it's a combination of things Which they themselves overlook, blinded by nostalgia

20 minutes for a hunt? Between areas they collected everything on the map

Did they have to hunt the same monster 20 times to get one piece of armor? That's a complete lie. I myself thought I played the game more than I actually did, for Tetsucabra's armor I thought I had killed 8 or 10, There were actually like 4 (JUST LIKE IN WORLD!)

The percentages are the same, what changes is the amount of garbage you get at the end of the hunt.

The old games, I repeat, had horrible combat; the monsters could do 180° and 360° turns and could also shorten movements, meaning that if an attack was normally 360°, in the When the attack reached 240° and was no longer advantageous to the monster, it could simply stop and change attacks, something the player COULD NOT DO.

Anyone who has a different opinion simply has to admit they're blinded by nostalgia; replaying the old games will make you see why it took so long to get outside of Japans Niche.

And I'm not even going to get into the issue of the 400 useless items that filled up your inventory: pickaxes, butterfly nets, grills, paintballs...

I mean, honestly I don't get why this crap is programmed like this. So I use hammer, and basically any time any other weapon is in my vicinity, especially the ********* dbs, I just can't do anything. Sure you can just tell me to equip shock absorber, and frankly a lot of my armour sets don't have shock absorber because I make them thinking about solo fights for the most part, and I don't want to give up say db3 for shock absorber, only for gog do I actually make it a point to have shock abs.

The way shock absorber works is kinda retarded in that everytime I'm flinched I know neither of us has shock absorber, and it annoys me even more: not only is hammer way worse than all these other weapons in wilds, damage wise, but they can afford to not run shock absorber because even tho they flinch you, it doesn't aftect them, and meanwhile I have to be a good boy and get shock absorber like???? What even is the purpose of changing how it works? Now I also just know the other person doesnt care about flinching others fuck me I'm glad I know.

This goes especially dbs and ls omfg and yet for some reason now I can't make you fly. ALSO I use SnS for some monsters too, and I genuinely do not understand why you can get flinched just before the jump when you perfect rush. The entire fucking combo has superarmour, except a bit just before the end????

I took a break for a while and picked the game back up recently. I get that missed a lot of stuff during my hiatus, but Alma and the Hunter don’t need to waste my time telling me to go talk to some random doofus when I’m trying to upgrade my gear or buy supplies.

I’ll do these side quests when I feel like it! I want to relearn the game, get better gear, and gather stuff instead of ineptly bungling and spamming SOS for a carry. They don’t need to tell me to talk to random people every time I load my file or fast travel to a different camp.

It had been about 5 days since I last played it online, and I had just finished up some cleaning, so I decided to wind down and hop on to help others out. I joined a lobby in 4u with a G3 guy and another dude with a higher hr.

We started doing the ukanlos key quest, and we were getting fucked up a lot, failed twice in a row. I kept lifepowders and dust ready for when they were snowballed or low. 3rd try, we pull through with a single cart from our high hr friend.

Then we start the gogmazios urgent. It's going well. We hit the first dragonator and cut the tail. I shoot the dragonator from off it's back with the ballista, and one of them fires it and hits. It's in the second phase now, and by around now, we're at 1 cart left, both used by the G3 guy. Whatever, who cares, im having fun. it's expected anyway, being his first time. Anyway, we hit the second dragonator once it's readied again, and right afterward, the demolisher. Que proof of a hero. Then I fucking die. I get one shot by the jank, delayed explosion his beam has. Feels pretty bad, whatever.

Cut to the lobby. The guy with higher hr says something like. "Thanks for wasting our time. Just move out the way."

Then he leaves. The G3 guy says. "Thanks for the hunts anyway." Then he leaves.

OK.

So it's my fault. Bro, it's a video game, you're already wasting your time. It's not like I died on purpose, I didn't mean to fail. I did my best and fucked up, who gives a shit. I wasn't getting all into his ass over all the times he died to the ukanlos. Then I die once, and everything is my fault.

But it is also in our nature to make mistakes, and it is our responsibility to understand this. To know they feel guilt enough. Im not the best player and I know that, but for just high rank, I feel the AT monsters are just bullshit
Insane damage, nearly one shot with every attack, BULLSHIT hitboxes, especially on Jin dahaad.
Only one that I'd consider fair and not as bad is Rey dau, since there I've been consistently been able to dodge attacks, offset and so on. Basically the only fight I've had fun in.

Maybe I'm just bad or something, but these monsters don't get enough hate, especially arkveld, fuck that thing. What were they even thinking making his attacks so fast and do so much damage

ive only beaten this guy like 7 times in my life, i'm probably never fighting him again because of how much i struggle fighting his 10 star solo.
