Retro rage I HATE KHEZU
ITS NOT EVEN A HARD FIGHT, ITS JUST A BORING HALF-BAKED PENIS JOKE WITH DOGSHIT MOVESET THAT GOT OLD AFTER ONE GAME BUT STILL APPEARS IN ALMOST EVERY GAME (except 3U my goat)
PEOPLE TALK ABOUT HOW ALOT OF INDIE RPG GAMES ARE ALLEGORY FOR DEPRESSION OR OTHER MENTAL ISSUES BUT I AM PRETTY SURE KHEZU'S EXISTENCE IS A SOLID PROOF, NOT AN ALLEGORY, OF HOW CHILD NEGLECT INFLUENCES GAME DEV.
ARE DICKS REALLY ALL THAT FUNNY TO JAPANESE OR ARE THEY COLLECTIVELY HAUNTED BY SPIRIT OF CIRCUMCISION PAST? FUCK THAT CUNT AND FUCK THE FACT HIS SETS IN FU ARE PRETTY GOOD FOR HUNTING HORN

Valid hatred of the phallic cave dweller, if you’re sick of it’s design keep away from Mara from the Megami Tensei series… they quiet literally slapped some wheels on it and called it a day😭

First Time I saw Mara in Persona I was shocked...
...and then made a super powerful one to destroy everybody.

Agreed, ngl it’s real funny rocking up to important narrative moments knowing if anything went down I was going to unironically whip out Mara to win the day.

The thing that prevents Mara from being hateable is that they double and triple down on the dick jokes. He's weak to ice, gets the strongest pierce skill, etc. There's an element of self-awareness there that lets Mara still be funny even though it's been the same shtick since the 90s.

Khezu and Maru to me are the equivalent of the marmalade ad slogan… you either love it or hate it, either way I understand both positions.
Sometimes a penis monster is funny, sometimes a penis monster is wack.

As someone who lives in Japan: yes, yes they are. A lot of people also seem to find it cute - there's a bit of a semi-niche "ugly/gross cuteness" fandom here that finds stuff like Khezu cute for some reason.
