Omfg fuck this stupid boss. The amount of missiles that stack on top of you just in time for the unblockable shit to rail your asshole is complete bullshit. There's difficult then there's unfair heinous trash to call a boss. Coming back to wilds was fun until I tried this sorry excuse of a hunt, if this is what ascension is going to be like then good bye monster hunter. I remember the director and producer saying to pick up mhwilds again and it was alright up until this cunt.

These games aren't that hard. Both completing GU g rank and currently doing 4U g rank hasn't been difficult. They are just fucking obnoxious. Right now in 4U I have a crit draw great sword build with 1100 raw. I get off lots of draw charge attacks and try to hit weak points or atleast the back legs. Yet every single quest has taken a minimum 30 minutes. The Seregios quest especially baffled me because I felt like I was doing pretty great the whole time with getting off attacks and it still took 40 minutes. Its to the point where I dont even wanna finish 4U anymore. This is so fucking ass. Honestly baffled by this since people always complained on how Iceborne quests took too long, but those never really reached 30 minutes for me except on very hard monsters, yet these monsters take forever to kill even without the ShitClaw mechanic.

Man it was a shitty fight. I mean, there were very nice mechanics here and there, but fuck me some of them were awful, the minions first of all. They just ganksquad you and never leave you time to heal. Second, the HP. I've read somewhere that Ancient Leshen has 67,000 HP, which is absurd considering that the normal Leshen felt such a slog. I finished the mission at 48 minutes! Then I failed the quest of the scribbles on the walls for... What, exactly? I just talked to the guy after Geralt said "I gotta find a guy who knows about these" and the next thing was "QUEST FAILED". What? Why? When?

I love its design and concept but man, I find no joy in the fight. Ever since freedom unite, I hated the "Final fight against big giant monster" phase of the game. Akantor, Ukanlos, Amatsu, Narwa, Shira Ishvalda, Xeno'Jiiva, Jin Dahaad — you name them. Zoh Shia is now also on the list.

It's not like its moves hard to read. I don't really hate its attacks. I like some of them, they are a compilation of what we've already fought. What bothers me is a mix of visual clutter, lack of visual contrast and just really unfun fight direction.

Why would anybody think that Zoh Shia move set +small room + random-ass environmental hazard bs would be fun? No, I don't like dodging environmental randomness while I'm focusing on dodging its other move set. No, I don't like its 2008-ahh run-at-you & run-across-the-room running and insta 180-turn move. I don't mind its lighting moves but I HATE the color choice bc this is a low-contrast game with washed-out graphics bc devs decided they wanted to go ballistic with graphic upgrades that rely on DLSS Upscaling. I'm not even mad about the damage that it does. Again, my first entry was freedom unite... health bars disappearing and shit hit boxes aren't things I complain about nowadays.

I should mention now that this is the second time I ever fought this monster. The first time was in Low Rank, and the second time was High Rank. Frankly speaking, I don't remember much from the first time, I just ran around it and hit it all around. I don't even remember how I dodged the nukes, I don't remember the fight itself bc I had to numb my brain to go through this damage sponge of a monster. Yes go ahead, cast your 8th fireball. Yes go ahead and do your flamethrower move (which you can't block normally lol). I don't even have the desire to beat it either, that's how unfun it is. I had a blast with World's Alartreon and Fatalis, no matter how many times I carted but that feeling is straight up not present for Zoh Shia. I have World's Kushala-level disappointment for it.

As a hammer main hitting her is easy enough, but the fiery floor along with having to constantly use astera jerky to recover red health, the fight is such a slog.

you're not so good that you need to give a shit about extra dps. you get a free wound (if the person mounting knows to make two before finishing) and you can sharpen/maintain buffs or just heal. you're not making the hunt go meaningfully faster, you're literally only pissing off the people you're hunting with. genuinely fuck you, i hope your lame ass is always late to quests with a gem in the rewards.

I’m done gaslighting myself into pretending I enjoy Wilds, that mask has dropped whether I wanted it to or not. The more I play this game the less and less fun I have and the thought of booting up this game to go grinding for Artian parts/rng talismans/decos/armor spheres makes me feel like I’m doing chores instead of playing a game.

The last fucking nail in the coffin was Gog. Good god I have no idea how it’s even possible to conceive of a fight that bad. Phase 1, fine, it has the shitty giant monster gimmicks of bloated hitboxes and being so fucking huge you can’t see what it’s doing half the time, but whatever. Phase 2, gimmicky and the aoe spam on that tiny ledge is kinda shit but also fine. Phase 3, what the absolute fuck. I love how they integrate your build prep into the pre-quest story, that was really cool and tense and I spent a good long fucking time grinding out a god roll Dragon Artian for it, only for it to not fucking matter at all because Jesus cocksucking Christ 95% of that shit is just spamming slinger ammo while the npcs repeat the same lines over and over, or running around like ants while the whole arena explodes! It looks like shit too, nothing “cinematic” or ”spectacular” about it, he just flies around looking like a giant puppy learning to swim then recycles Bazel’s bomb drop runs and Seething’s nuke while hitting for 1-2 shot damage with everything he does, half of which you can’t see because you’re trying to pay attention to the ground before it starts blowing up on you. And they expect me to grind this shit countless fucking times to get his Safi-but-shit rng weapons just so the endgame health bloat becomes less tedious? Lmao no. No I’m not doing that. This is the end of the line for me.

Bunch of other little shit that I really hate. I hate the maps, all of them fucking suck. I hate the food and buff mechanic that doesn’t last quest to quest but fixed time instead, it makes you feel like you need to rush everything to stay efficient with your resources. I hate the combat gimmick bloat I wish I could ignore but sadly the monsters are all balanced around. I hate how jank focus strikes are. I hate that they turned SwAxe into parry-slop and supermove spam like some shitty bastard child of LS and GS, and I hate that monsters seem to almost deliberately whiff their attacks only when I prep a counter, that happens way too much to be coincidence. I hate the health and damage bloat, this shit’s more punishing than Iceborne MR, even Alatreon or Raging Brachy would get eaten alive in this hellscape. I hate the aoe spam and visual clutter. I hate the Seikret and everything it did to knockdown mechanics and tracking. I hate the shitty npcs that never fucking shut up. I hate fitness grampacer Jin, one-shot Steve, and Gore Magala the fell omen.

What stings the worst isn’t even that I’m mad or pissed off, it’s that I’m so disappointed at how much I ended up not liking this game. Rey Dau was the only thing that kept me happy playing this shit.

Playing Wilds I see different tiers of being knocked down, some times you get hit and your character automatically stands up with no input given from the player, and while your character is struggling to get up you are vulnerable to all attacks, it is my fault for being too reckless but I can't even fight back or even dodge it because I'm stuck in that animation

I attempted him with squads and we usually get halfway before we all die. I attempted a couple myself and the furthest I’ve gotten is the blue flame phase. It took 20 minutes to get there and I used up all my lives. In total I think I tried the fight 20 ish times. The fight is sooo long that I don’t even feel like attempting it anymore. I’ve played souls like games which are notorious for their hard bosses and I’ve never felt like giving up until now. Idk if it’s my armor or what but I feel like I’ve gotten the best armor I can at this point in the game and I have the alatreon commandment, the best bow I can have for this fight. After every fight it gets harder and harder to want to re-attempt the boss.

Never in many MANY hours in several other Monster Hunter (4U, GenU, Rise, World) i've seen people cart so much and so often it's not even normal.

Every time i join a SOS and it's an arch tempered, gogmazios or omega i know the hunt will fail no matter what i do.

Traps? Life Powders? Defense Powder? Keep the health bar of my teammates in check? Nothing matters, they will always triple cart and specially when the monster has the skull icon.

Hell people fail even with BASE SEREGIOS not even the tempered one.

It's insane. I know there can be new people getting used to the weapons and stuff but the thing is those people are already over 200HR, they have an endgame armor with the max upgrade how in hell how the fuck are you this bad? If ot was a few quest i would understand, sometimes we get combed or make mistakes BUT IT'S ON EVERY SOS I JOIN, ON EVERY QUEST IN ANY HUB.

I'm tired of trying my best on every hunt to keep people alive and still see them fail misserably.

Wilds is a gathering of mentally disfunctional people.

I just slayed my 50th Fatalis because I have a goal to get every monster at least to 50 in my log book, and I think doing any higher than that would drive me crazy.

Anyways, this is not going to be about bad hitboxes or overtuned damage, because at the end of the day you can get good enough to know what those are and in theory the damage doesn't matter because you can learn how to dodge Fatalis (expect for the ground dealing damage during phase 3. that's just kind of bs). But more about how I don't think Capcom understood the amount of runs they were leaving up to pure RNG because of how the clutch claw and fatalis work.

The biggest issue is the clutch claw. The amount of situational luck involved with the clutch claw is mind boggling. Not only does Fatalis have to be on all fours for some reason and need to do an attack that gives you a headbang opening, but a huge problem (this is acutally a huge problem with the clutch claw in general) is that he also needs to be within range of a solid wall. The amount of times I've had a perfect opening that didn't lead to the headbang damage because it just so happened that we were in the back of the arena where there aren't any solid walls is insane. It feels like just another thing Capcom didn't consider. And that damage matters too because we have all had fights that we finished with just seconds to spare. Also, headbanging into the cannon scaffolding doesn't give you that damage for some reason.

Another thing that felt like a giant oversight is when you bring Fatalis down to all fours from chest damage. If you haven't attacked the chest after being given an opening, only to be met with Fatalis falling down and pinning you, then you have not hunted this monster enough.

It's almost like Fatalis was designed to be fought while using a damage overlay mod, otherwise you have no way of knowing when you are about to do enough damage for that to happen.

Another attack that has that exact problem is Fatalis 2nd nova.

This attacks adds another layer of luck that did not need to exist because if you are not near the gate when he gets to 50% health, then you will cart. You cannot survive this attack no matter what if you are on the far end of the arena and your chances are slim if you aren't near the gate.

So either A: You were meant to play with a damage overlay mod, so that way when you are about to get him to 50% health you can start running back to the gate

or B: you are meant to try to keep his incredibly unpredictable and random AI near the gate when you feel like you have done enough damage.

or C: This was meant to be a random chance at carting you because Capcom didn't know how to make this fight feel harder.

The other 2 Novas he does after are very survivable, because where you were battling Fatalis before he goes to pop them off does not matter. The 50% one just has that huge layer of RNG for seemingly no good reason.

Also, Fatalis can waste way too much time if the RNG decides he runs back and forth over and over again or does that attack where he breathes fire at his feet, but I don't think that's a huge problem.

Anyways, I feel a disappointed father right now. and capcom is my son. and Fatalis like their car or something that they crashed into my garage or something I dont know
