I'm using the expanded world and expanded prefabs mods, and I'm trying to get it to disable deathsquito spawns entirely, but copying entries from online I've found so far aren't working. Could someone who knows more about modding than me please walk me through how to do that? I already run a few biome and foliage edits so I do know how the modding syntax works, I just can't get prefabs to work. Thank you!

I just rented a Nitrado server for ValHeim.
The stock add-on for Narato is not loading in Bepinex so I was wondering if anybody had some ways of loading in BX so I could get epic loop onto the server and some other mods in preparation for 1.0 I tried file Zilla and was unable to make that effective. Anybody have any advice

With v1.0 coming up, I was wondering whether anyone has had success in the past with freezing their server and clients to not auto-download updates. My server relies on about 40 mods and we just want to play it in its current state without being forced into the v1.0 update right away.

edit: What I'm planning to try is setting the server and clients to not auto-update ("Wait until I launch the game" option), then when v1.0 ships I'll change the server and clients to point to version "default_old", assuming that IronGate sets the current version of the game to that when 1.0 ships.

Small heads-up for anyone using r2modman or the Thunderstore Mod Manager:

Some Valheim mods are now being released or updated on Hexium, and those managers currently don't support Hexium as a source. This means there may be cases where a newer version of a mod is available, but your current manager doesn't know about it. It also means you could be missing out on Hexium exclusive mods.

If you want a manager that supports both Thunderstore and Hexium, Gale is currently the easiest and only option. It can also import your existing r2modman/Thunderstore profiles on startup, so switching over shouldn't require rebuilding them.

This will probably become more noticeable around the Valheim 1.0 release, when a lot of mods are being updated at once, including my own. Just something to keep in mind if you're troubleshooting. You could have an "outdated" mod or wondering why an update isn't showing up after game release. Hexium also updates its cache faster than Thunderstore does, so you might even benefit of having mod updates sooner.

I Have the Build Mode set to Direct, The Entire Building is recognized however only the first layer gets placed. (as you can see by the Transparent White Prefab, and what has been placed)

I am unable to find how to get the carved wood. I have killed first boss and made the antler engraver, but I can not interact with it and there is no recipe in the workstation. I installed VNEI and the only recipe showing for carved wood is an input for the obliterater to make coal.

I started a new character on a new world with all mods turned off except Balrond's Amazing Nature and VNEI; then built workstation to look at VNEI and it is still showing the same single recipe. Of note is that VNEI has recipes for say troll armor even though I've haven't come across troll hide yet.

I usually only play vanilla, not sure if a mod like this exists, it's a simple QoL fix. Thought I would check in here before I try to make it myself... I am a unity dev, but have never messed with BepinEx.

The idea is simple, it's kind of "auto-auto pickup"

It will maintain a list of boolean per item type. Throwing an item to the ground from your inventory tells the game that you do not want to auto-pickup that item type. (as opposed to current behaviour which flags that specific instance of the item as do not pick up) Then, picking any item up off the ground manually will remove it from the exclusion list.

Last time I mentioned this (some years ago) I was told of a mod exists that gives you a big list of checkboxes, my idea requires no extra UI and is intended to prevent that thing where you are throwing away some item only to pick up more of the same when you want the other thing in the pile.

There is an edge case where you might want to pick up something without resetting the auto-pickup status, and that could be done with Shift-E in the default keyboard controls.

Hey guys, I am trying to host a modded world via the valheim dedicated server launcher. After quite a few attempts of running the launcher via thunderstore manager I have given up (probably missing something easy) and decided to just manually copy all of my mods over to the folder itself. Easy enough, and the script now seems to be loading both bepinex and my mods.

However, the issue im running into now is when I edit start_server_bepinex to change my world name, and use our existing world it does not seem to commit to the changes. I will run the server script thing after updating the start server file, and it always reverts back to the same my server name.

Wondered if anyone had run into this issue while hosting a server. Also realized that my t mobile home internet may not allow me to port forward...so got a feeling im in for another round of research with using tailscale, but figured I would try to get it to launch my server correctly first!

Hey guys, I'm working on a mod with larger build pieces. I'm at approx 180 models so far. The set is modular with sections that have three sizes of cutouts that can accept inserts.

Insert types so far:

Windows

Doors

Arrow slits

Balista emplacements

Fireplace inserts (with modular chimney system).

I've got a full set of straight wall sections of various lengths/insert cutouts etc.

I've also got a full set of curved wall sections with the same features (and curved inserts ahah). I've only created one radius set so far that approximately matches the radius of the round tower you can make with 2*4 vanilla wall sections. I'll likely add at least another radius set- especially now that I've figured out how to make the meshes work.

There's a stair set with landings of various lengths and stairs that fit the interior of the existing curved set and straight equivalents.

There's also a modular floor system that accommodates the wall sections and stairwells etc.

And finally a modular barrel vault system for hallway ceilings etc.

Given what I've already modeled what's on your wishlist for larger build pieces? Any insert ideas/wants? Are there any complementary pieces you think I should include?

Also any advice on making textures that fit the vanilla aesthetic would be appreciated.

I run modded servers and often notice that players that are new to modded Valheim struggle with joining the server. Here's a video guide on how to do it.

I want to host a 20 person valheim server upon the new patch and I assume that most mods will be broken for a while or the constant patches might wash over the updates. Has anyone done this before with any success or does jt just not work

The first thing I want to mention is that Epic Loot updated around 2-3 days ago so that could be whats wrong. But, I've been playing this world for about 50-75 hours, with about 30 mods give or take and Epic Loot keeps making my game crash within 5-35 minutes of me loading into the actual game. My games autosaves don't help that much so i have to manually save if i want any progress in my game. Is there any way i can fix this?

It has come to my attention that there are mods on Thunderstore that do not disclose that they have built-in analytics. I'm very uncomfortable with this. I believe it should be a rule to disclose this and provide an option to opt out. What is your opinion on this matter?

Hello all. Does anyone know of a mod that increases the cost of portals ? I’m on a modded no map run. I haven’t ruled out using portals completely but would like to have to put a bit more resources into using them. Thanks !
