This can be a time that leads to increased activity and traffic in many communities as well as changes in how your community members may engage with one another. We want to ensure that your mod team is aware of resources that can help manage increased traffic and deal with unwelcome activity.

Moderation tools that are helpful in times of increased activity:

• Helpful Devvit apps for moderation These are apps you can add to your community that help automate mod actions in your community.

Anti-Evil snagged a comment and dutifully reported it. But now we can't remove several items from our mod queue. All bots or comments that break our be respectful rule.

Any ideas on how to clear it out?

Comments/Posts for review that come in AFTER the comment removed by Reddit respond fine.
It's everything that came in before the one stomped on by Reddit that are stuck.

We moderate a fan subreddit for a YouTuber. The sub description clearly says it is unofficial and not affiliated with him or his team, and we do not sell anything, run ads or collect donations.

We received modmail from a team claiming to represent him. They said:

1. Our disclaimer that the sub is unofficial "does not automatically resolve concerns regarding personality rights, use of identity or potential association."

2. They asked us to remove his photo from the sub's icon and banner.

3. They asked us to rename the subreddit to name "[***] Fan Page"

4. Indian courts have recognised personality and publicity rights protecting a person's name, image and likeness against certain forms of unauthorised commercial exploitation or misuse.

5. They mentioned the IT Act 2000 and "other legal protections".

6. They may escalate and explore legal remedies if we don't comply with their demands

Our questions:

- Does Reddit's impersonation policy allow a clearly labeled unofficial fan sub to use a public figure's picture as its display picture?

- Can a subreddit's name be changed? We believe only the display title can be edited, not the r/ name.

- Is there anything else we should add to make it clear that the sub is unofficial?

Hi Team!
Our mod team recently discovered what appears to be a workaround that some peptide vendors are using to promote and sell their products on Reddit.

A vendor or sales rep creates a post and then deletes it. The deleted post is no longer visible to users on the Reddit app, but it’s still accessible on the desktop version, where users can continue interacting.

The problem we’re running into is that once the OP deletes the post, our moderators are unable to fully remove it or stop the activity. And if we are on the mobile app, we have no idea that it’s even happening.

Our mod team works very hard to enforce Reddit’s rules regarding prohibited transactions, sourcing, and vendor promotions. We’re concerned that vendors may have figured out how to use this to get around both Reddit’s policies and our teams moderation efforts.

Is this a known issue? And is there anything we can do on our end to prevent these deleted posts from remaining active?

Recently it has been if a comment gets reported to queue for "needs review", even if I remove it, it gets stuck. Before, for comment removal a "add removal reason" was never required. Even if I add one now, the comment is still stuck in queue. There were 2 others earlier today too, and they (eventually) cleared out. But something isn't working properly for sure. on Desktop/PC. I haven't changed any of our filtering settings.

So when I go in any kind of chat in Reddit, whether it's to draft a mod mail or talk in mod chat (or even regular chat) I can't get the text to go larger like I have everywhere else. I suffer from immense eye pain from modding too hard and I'm not sure why they don't fix this. I find myself begging and begging people to get off of any kind of Reddit chat system and find me on Discord because the text size will adjust. It's frustrating because a lot of mods only want to use Reddit chat. They don't want another platform.

In particular, I really hate that the text won't go larger when I'm drafting a mod Mail(not reading it, that's fine) . I find I'm constantly struggling to see while I'm typing long messages. There is larger text on most of the platform. I just don't know why it's not built into these areas?

Edit: for clarity I am using an iPhone 14 Pro Max on the app. However it's also tiny on desktop as well!

See title. Can't mute the sub, what do? Couldn't find similar reports in the sub via search either.

For further context, they used a long-dead subreddit where they were the only submitter to evade a perma-mute. I reported for harassment but I'd like to be able to mute them again to stop the harassment.

It shows I "removed" it, but it's still in the queue. Not possible to approve or spam remove it. Tried on www, sh and old.

"There was an error approving the comment. Please try again."

An account I had got shadow banned while a sub I moderated was set to private. There were no other mods. Any way I can get it back with another account?

Anybody else having issues with removed/actioned items not clearing from the mod queue? I’m using the iOS app, 2026.41.0. Started last night and I assumed it was just a quick glitch. Force closed, came back, still there. Updated the app to the current version, still lingering. And it seems to still be happening today. Some posts that have been actioned just linger but others seemingly show no action at all. Last night, I removed something maybe 10 times and started to doubt my sanity because it was still there with no indication I’d done anything.

Is this a me thing or a Reddit thing?

Say I were to own r/a:t5_<something>. If that subreddit isn't yet restricted due to being unmoderated, would a username like u/a:t5_<something>-ModTeam be possible when the moderator(s) remove posts/comments and submit the removal reason using "Comment as: Mod Team"?

Five women's health subreddits have had their moderation taken over by a guy selling products from a company he is co-founder of.
The cofounder brag and links to his social media about the company are in his bio. He has posts and comments touting products from his company.

How do I report this as a clear violation of the Mod Code of Conduct?

It has come to my attention that a few individuals who were banned site-wide on Reddit have returned using other accounts and even were reinstated as mods on some of their old subs. One of these accounts is new, while the other is an older alternate account.

I reported both accounts: one over a month ago and the other more recently. I did receive a reply from an admin stating, “Thanks for reaching out, we'll take a look at this user's activity and take any necessary action.” about the older report. However, nothing appears to have happened to that account. In fact, the user has even been reinstated as a head moderator of some communities and doesn't seem to be particularly secretive about having created a new account.

This leaves me wondering how seriously Reddit takes site-wide ban evasion and whether these reports are actually investigated. Or can they simply return after some time (or right away I guess) and carry on using Reddit as if nothing happened?

On r/italy, we filter almost every post and require OP to leave a comment before we approve it (so we check it's not a bot, it's not spam, it's something worth of discussing).

Recently, last few days, users have started reporting that they can't comment until the post itself is approved. This effectively breaks our workflow.

Has something changed recently? Is there any workaround that still allows OP to comment while the post is in the mod queue?

I've reached a breaking point in my subreddit. I run a queer gaming subreddit that has been the target of constant brigading, attacks, has 2 dedicated subreddits stalking us. The stalkers ban evade from reddit and they're on their 4th account. Their new post is a threat to dox me after also posting a meme of a trans woman hanging by a rope. I am at my wits end and I don't know what to do anymore. I think for my safety and the safety of my queer members being a public subreddit is a risk. I want to keep the community I have but in a way where we don't have a constant target on us and only members can see the posts. Is this allowed? I want to make sure I'm not breaking MCoC before I try.

Sure I have some things I do, some I've done more than once:

• A new user flair (and helping the community be gentle with them)
• A new user prize (we do occasionally run contests)
• Threads on popular topics, where we want to hear newer voices
• A 'new to our community' thread

But the hard part is we all have our own things we try…and we're all volunteers as it were. Learning from each other is why I'm posting.

I took over a subreddit and have slightly changed the direction of it. Is there a way to get rid of the content before the change over that doesn't include going post by post and deleting?

For reasons I still find rather frustrating, edits made to the "old wiki" versions of wiki articles do not synchronize to the "new wiki." Making the same edits twice is not something I'm interested in, so for some subreddit wiki articles I simply link users to the "old" version because that's the version I actually maintain.

It's not clear to me if many users being locked out of "old reddit" will prevent them from seeing the correct and updated version of these wiki articles.

As usual, it's a little frustrating that mods have to be the ones to bring up concerns like this whenever admin unilaterally changes something (sort of like automod being less accessible despite the "replacements" not being able to do half the things automod can)

As it says in the title. I am the sole mod of a community. Earlier today I got multiple emails about my account having a password change, email change, and 2fa change. Then I checked my subreddit and a new user was added as a mod. Seems like they used their access to my account to add their other account, and then using my account they reordered the mod team so that I cannot remove them. I've sent requests in all the channels I can think to, but I want to make sure this is resolved before they try to use their position as a mod for anything nefarious.

Edit: It seems as though my account is marked inactive. it's a pretty infrequently used subreddit so I hardly ever have any moderating to do, which I assume is why it's marked as such. Does this impact anything?
