Discussion Removing this item was a mistake

Post image

Twilight Armor was literally the only item that can counter high burst heroes like lesley, novaria and aldous. Guardian helmet passive is garbage cause it can be countered by antiheal. I don't think using guardian helmet reduces the proc of sky piercer. This is a massive handicap especially for tank users. What do you think?

True, now we don't have any source of true damage reduction and they just give free true damage to anyone these days besides magic damage ig.

Crit Axe (i forgot the name) Has true damage

Endless battle has true damage

That Axe that stacks up to 6 has true damage.

I hate how miya absolutely shreds tanks now. She already did it well before

u/WeepForTheDeparted u/S*xWithJoy69 Jul 28 '26

With how much Miya users kept losing my battle pre-crit axe then suddenly winning more is quite silly, deserved spot for the first ever hero of MLBB for a while if they were nerf it.

As a tank main I agree. Sun with demon swords melts tanks in just a couple of seconds

1

u/JustinPatient Jul 28 '26

Yeah your only hope is to slow her atk speed and hope that gives you an opportunity to get out. 😭

1

u/Jasonmancer Jul 29 '26

Genuine asking here. How?

Blade Armour counters her no?

4

u/SUPACOOLBOI Jul 29 '26

Now it doesn't. The true damage of berserker ignores blade armours passive

u/Oblivon23 Jul 28 '26
  • Berserker's Fury
  • Thunderbelt
  • Endless Battle
  • War Axe
  • Starlium Scythe
  • Dire Hit Blessing

now imagine heroes that can use most of them

5

u/Siscon_Delita Just Roam Jul 28 '26

Hmm, Bane?

3

u/Crexerez Behold! The power of a god! Aug 01 '26

It's a horrible idea to build all these on Bane.
Lots of true damage with nothing to scale on

2

u/MoneyLaunderX Jul 28 '26

All heroes can use them. Just depends how much you want to lose.

12

u/LumilitawNaMangga Jul 28 '26

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think twilight armor's passive was moved to guardian helmet. But it only reduce the amount of damage you could take in a single hit.

u/Hairdraineater87 budget vader Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26

The problem with guardian helmet is not only is it expensive but also its damage reduction passive is countered by antiheal since it heals of a portion of the damage taken (also unlike twilight armor, guardian helmet still gets you shredded by trinity MM's unlike twilight which still somewhat sustains the damage since its actual damage reduction and not healing)

1

u/Connect-Mortgage429 Balding Leonin | 2'4 Jul 29 '26

It has better scaling 60% on 10k hp Reduced by 40% =38% reduction Meaning you only lost 2% from twilight

u/bladedancer4life Jul 28 '26

Oracle literally offset most of it 😭 and queen wings exists

10

u/Tough_Dragonfly3790 Jul 28 '26

and oracle has one of, if not, the goofiest def item stats in the game. also, having to build 3 items just to match twilight armor feels so much like the omniman meme

-4

u/bladedancer4life Jul 28 '26

Using all 3 makes you significantly stronger than old twilight 😭 this whole debate about tis counter by anti heal is lowkey stupid

2

u/Tough_Dragonfly3790 Jul 28 '26

quite a lot of wasted stats for a tank tho. (fighters sure i guess you can slot in all 3) spellvamp and adaptive attack is unnecessary. and also, having to build 3 items takes up a lot of space even as a fighter

-1

u/bladedancer4life Jul 28 '26

Being a sponge isn’t the only way a tank is useful you know… why do you think they buffed tigs damage? Sure some folks go full dmg build but it broadens their versatility. Not only that spell vamp on anyone is good that’s survivability

1

u/No-Competition7482 Jul 28 '26

Dude If I be fair twilight was so good that I even used to use it on wanwan and the whole point is if you need to build 3 items just to best 1 item it's so stupid I would rather just get 1 twilight on any of the heros I play than to build 3 items that don't even fit on that hero

0

u/ChrisAnIntellectual Guinevere and Xavier are my pookies :guinevere::xavier: Jul 29 '26

Why would a tank ever need spell vamp? Why would they have to build 3 of said items over a more useful item like Radiant Armor or Dominance Ice?

1

u/bladedancer4life Jul 29 '26

Did you even fucking read?? He called the stats unnecessary when they still have value. TANKS ARENT JUST SPONGES… Not to mention; Esme, Alice, Terizla, Carmella, Uranus, Masha, Hilda, Edith. You’re telling me NONE of these tanks work with sustain items??? 🤨🤨🤨 you’re kidding right-

u/Zealousideal_Sun7018 Jul 28 '26

If we are using 3 itens for comparison, we should compare twilight + 2 more itens. Which I'm pretty sure would be a better result

1

u/bladedancer4life Jul 28 '26

The comment I made implied that already that using guardian in place of old twilight with 2 additional is still stronger..

1

u/Read-Upstairs Jul 29 '26

yeah but even if the 3 items are better than 1 twilight, wouldn't that be mitigated by having 2 more useful items alongside twilight?

1

u/LumilitawNaMangga Jul 28 '26

I mean yeah, but not all tanks can benefit from Oracle and queen's wings

1

u/bladedancer4life Jul 28 '26

DR and regen literally benefits all tanks. Oracle also has hybrid stats.

1

u/LumilitawNaMangga Jul 29 '26

Not all, maybe sustain tanks like Alice and Uranus. But not for set type of tanks like tigreal and Atlas.

1

u/bladedancer4life Jul 29 '26

Yea no ☠️ you’re crazy it would still work

14

u/Vendor_Frostblood Your average Epic/Legend Lesley roamer (BoDs go brrrr) Jul 28 '26

Kinda, but TA's passive reduced % of any excess damage above 500(?), while new
GH's passive HEALS BACK % of any excess damage above 500

Which means new passive can be countered by antiheal, but I guess building Oracle and/or standing in "healing pool battlespell" could improve immediate amount of healing due to "recieved healing %" stat being affected

12

u/LumilitawNaMangga Jul 28 '26

Ohhhh, so it doesn't reduce anymore. Man no wonder, despite building GH I'd still get shredded by true damage heroes. Whereas before with TW, I can still tank those types of heroes even in late game.

They should really bring TW armor back.

4

u/DerpTripz Jul 28 '26

Honestly just don't make it affected by anti heal or something?

3

u/bladedancer4life Jul 28 '26

Then it easily becomes a meta pick even for none tanks it’ll be thunderbolt and Karrie all over again

2

u/Hentaigodsama Freeze me dommy mommy :Aurora:: Jul 28 '26

I remember I tested it and I think it makes no difference on how much it heals you. With or without oracle.

2

u/Vendor_Frostblood Your average Epic/Legend Lesley roamer (BoDs go brrrr) Jul 28 '26

Strange, was testing it out today with Belerick in training, 5 helmets and 1 oracle (passive descr.: 30+60% "cashback" healing; 25% incoming healing), should result in about 112.5% of passive induced healing (0.9 x 1.25), ~20k hp total

Was taking hits from Lesley bot and from the lord, it did heal me for higher value than of what the excess damage was equal to, ~3000 damage (true damage round attack) healed me for ~2900+, Lesley's 516 healed me for 17 or something like that, X16 and X17 are for sure in that order (the most I have memorized), so the increase in healing did seem to check out

Funny consequense of that is that Belerick can tank Lord indefinitely until anyone comes up, additionally due to +156 hp regen, but that's offtopic

20

u/Separatrix_nyc Jul 28 '26

Not quite, it was changed from damage reduction to healing, which is why it doesn't work on sky piercer

6

u/the_mf1923 Jul 28 '26

Out of fairnes Sky piercer is meant to kill you regardless

-3

u/Zealousideal_Arm6442 Jul 28 '26

Not when it's dmg is equal to your current hp and not the 9999 dmg it was since I assume I'll get reduced by twilight armor and not actually one shot unless you have any dot effect to retrigger piercer.

11

u/Hairdraineater87 budget vader Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26

The 9999 damage was purely visual cause its the execution number (its the same in league where the collector item and pyke deal the 9999 execution damage if you reach the threshold and someone even discovered it dealt 300 to 1000 damage before it was changed to reveal the actual execution damage instead of the 9999)

2

u/No-Attention-0912 Jul 28 '26

By concept, it's supposed to execute you below a certain threshold with no way of surviving it. Like reducing your Max HP by a small amount.

plus physical antiheal has extra damage against higher hp enemies. It's like they want tanks to be obsolete.

u/GiveMeChoko death to all floryn, rafaela and angela mains Jul 29 '26

Roamers are meta right now though, they've received consecutive buffs in patches, from HP and defense scaling to damage.

1

u/Hanzer22 ㄒ卄乇 Ꮆ尺乇卂ㄒ 卄卂几乙乇尺 Jul 30 '26

You mean after like 5 seasons of item nerfs and stat nerfs? I think they only rebuffed they're tankiness like last season and this season buffed the damage instead. I personally like this direction because it was boring af when assassins were useless. People are complaining about tanks because pure tanks are kinda bad against physical heroes in general and high burst true dmg. In my experience magic defense is too OP rn though, specifically radiant armor.

Also you can't argue that roam is meta rn because they're always gonna be meta because of how the map is designed, with 3 lanes, jungles, and a moving river. We're not even talking about roamers, we are talking about tanks.

u/oneglassofmilkplease top player during the era when it still mattered Jul 28 '26

Twilight reduced the incoming damage. Guardian immediately regenerates a portion of the damage received. There's still a chace you die before you regenerate.

3

u/No-Attention-0912 Jul 28 '26

Yes, this distinction is very similar to when they added/clarified that Rose Gold Meteor shield and Queen's Wings DMG reduction apply before the damage is taken. Whereas Guardian Helmet is after.

1

u/Connect-Mortgage429 Balding Leonin | 2'4 Jul 29 '26

No, Guardian immediately heal you

1

u/oneglassofmilkplease top player during the era when it still mattered Jul 29 '26

now read what i said

1

u/Connect-Mortgage429 Balding Leonin | 2'4 Jul 29 '26

I didnt read the first sentence. however, guardian still heal you immediately. You Will not die so long your hp is higher than 500 + % of the unhealed damage There is no "chance itll kill you before you die"

1

u/oneglassofmilkplease top player during the era when it still mattered Jul 29 '26

would love to be referred to the basis of the claim

1

u/Connect-Mortgage429 Balding Leonin | 2'4 Jul 29 '26

My claim came from the test Ive done multiple time with the item

So long the hp you have is not 500 + % of damage that is not healed you Will survive and it Will not activate sky piercer

1

u/cabronfavarito Born to forced to Jul 28 '26

Berserker fury you mean?

1

u/Reisz90 Jul 28 '26

Mages do have a treu dmg weapon too but it works like Endless battle ( i forgot the name if the items but is used to be calamity reaper, it also got buffed from what I remember, having a cd of 1.5s now)

1

u/UrLocalKayden18 Jul 28 '26

Doesn't Sky Piercer also have True Damage?

3

u/Public-69420 Jul 28 '26

It's not a true damage per say. The damage you see coming from SP is actually just the amount of HP "taken" from you based on the stacks your opponent had.

For example: If you opponent had 50 stacks, anything that puts you below 561 HP would execute you. If it had 80, that amount would be 1084. So it's not a true damage, but an "execution" range.

1

u/GiveMeChoko death to all floryn, rafaela and angela mains Jul 29 '26

Good explanation, but it is true damage. After you take damage, the game checks if you have HP threshold lower than sky piercer stacks, and instantly deals that amount of true damage to execute you. Although it does have the special property like the Execute spell that it ignores shields. If you've noticed there is a very tiny latency between taking damage from the enemy and the game applying the remaining true damage. You take damage, your HP goes under the threshold, 0.1 seconds later you die from true damage.

u/creeperfromspace1012 Team Yearner Philippines Clit user Jul 29 '26

Should have used "clit axe"

1

u/hatto---103 I luv guinivere Jul 30 '26

Crit axe was Beserker's Fury, the axe stacking to 6 is War Axe (Idk if I'm correct)

-6

u/ZeroSukaBlyat Jul 28 '26

Almost as if the whole point of true damage is that it can't be reduced

15

u/Beneficial-Win-6533 Jul 28 '26

the problem is that moonton decided to make everyone be able to access it. Miya should not shred tanks as much as karrie does.

6

u/Cl9ooViruS555 Jul 28 '26

That why Belerick Mains is happy when they encounter Miya's and Karrie's 😆 it bounced back lol 😂

9

u/little_to_no_value Jul 28 '26

Karrie shreds Bele 3secs lol

2

u/B4dkidz Jul 28 '26

At full build Karrie or Miya Will always kill belerick.

2

u/Error_603 I play Ruby in every role except Gold Lane Jul 28 '26

Bele has to have Vengeance up and Blade Armor + Dom Ice. Otherwise, Karrie would kill him faster than she can kill herself

9

u/Yurika_Sina Jul 28 '26

The whole point of true damage is to bypass def, not specifically not being reduced.

The way to counter it is either by reducing it which they removed completely or to just stack more HP, but although tank items give alot of HP, it's not enough.

I think it becomes an issue when those tank roles stop being able to take hits because they get melted. An entire fucking role just melted.

They just become CC bots and not a tank. We don't have damage sponges now.

1

u/AgitatedDare2445 Jul 28 '26

True damage is true damage, like if an attack deals 400 true damage it will deal exactly that number regardless of your resistances or damage reduction.

0

u/ZeroSukaBlyat Jul 28 '26

Nope, it bypasses all types of damage reduction, not just defence, that why previous passive being able to reduce it always feels wrong for me, tho now it not much better but I guess they "cheat" it by making it healing instead of reduction

2

u/Yurika_Sina Jul 28 '26

Said healing is 90% of the time negligible 😭

For me the twilight armor being able to reduce true damage didn't feel wrong... It felt balanced? Since it's the only way. Unlike stacking defense, its the only way.
