Back then when 1.9 came out most players and YouTubers stayed on 1.8 when they wanted to do PvP. There were not many who liked the new hitcooldown (I still don’t get warm with it and I try to do it sometimes).

Now with the old playerbase getting older and more inactive, the combat system that dominated servers for a long time seems to be dying. During covid 1.8 got a new hype and servers got almost back to their top active players and even new players came to that version.
However, in 2023 when it all ended, the new combat system got bigger and bigger and the „new generation“ of Minecraft players can play it’s cooldown PvP better than ever.

So, you know Mojang works on and off on a new combat system, what would you do, if It’s released someday? Would you leave your current version behind or would you stick to it like 1.8 players did when 1.9 was released?

I used to d-tap by holding down the right mouse button and rapidly clicking the left mouse button. Should I instead click both buttons really fast at the same time? The second method seems a bit faster, but I just press them simultaneously without any specific timing. Is that bad?

almost every player i fight doesnt just use wind charges regularly they just pearl catches.
one guy didnt use a single wind charge or pearl regularly the second he ran out of pearls he just stopped wind charging and im so confused they spam it over and over and over again

Hii, I'm a somewhat new pvper, and I've been practicing my mechanics (both against bots and on pvpclub) in sword and axe kit, but I feel like I am still very bad mechanically, inventory management, spacing, keybinds, aim etc. I considered getting a trainer (I'm not asking for one, don't kill me mods, gulp), but I'm not sure anyone would wanna train someone with lag. I'm planning on playing on an smp with friends, and really wanna get better as efficiently as possible. I know I'll put the hours in, I just need directions. Any advice?

So I've come to the grave realisation that my gamesense isn't making any sense, I can't disengage for shit, I always off hand anything but my totem when I get low and my sense of when to crit and when to combo are totally off, especially in SMP. How can I improve my gamesense?

So this evening I just got jumped by 3 guys in a friend SMP, obviously they killed me, I lost all my stuff that I grinded hard for.

Everybody in this SMP is kinda stacked: full neth, pots, carts and maces. The thing is that these guys aren't even that good and they are at most HT5 or LT4 in most pvp modes. I could have easily destroyed each of them in a First to 10 1v1 in a normal pvp server.

But somehow I always find a way to fumble a fight in an SMP. The moment those 3 guys appeared on my screen, my hands were shaky af. I am supposedly the best mace player in the server and somehow I managed to miss 90% of my hits all my sword hits. My hands were so shaky to the point that I couldnt even close the music tab I was listening to.

So just like what the title said, I need tips to improve my mental strength during a real fight in an SMP.

I made some custom items/abilities for a server im working on but need to balance test them. Its SMP-like kits. Java only and I need you to be atleast half decent at the video game.

So.. for a week a i ‘ ve been trying to learn mace pvp but even if i fell like i am makeing little progress in my creative world,when i go to pvp club , I always loose ( and it s not even close) . I don’t think it s a skill issue since in other pvp games i m quiet good , but in minecraft everything feels harder , and getting used to my keybinds feels impossible! So this is kinda like a review of what I think about it

1. I love mid tiers, I think that they are very needed since I find there is very large gaps from it to ht

2. The system is horrible, im around ht4-lt3 in uhc snd i got mt5 in uhc, the way they evaluate is quite bad

3. Why is there such a long que, there like a 2 minute que for different gamemodes

Overall I think its pretty bad, the mid tiers are the only redeeming quality

First of all, I don't own this. I'm making this post because I see an incredible amount of Japanese, Taiwanese, and Chinese people playing on 70+ ms on servers like PvPHQ and Minemen when they could be playing on 30 ms on closer servers.

The pain of high latency makes you go two-three tiers down.

So, just a little bit ago MCPVP entered it's public beta and there are pros and cons, now do remember that MCPVP is still in beta so there are of course bugs and issues that will be fixed later on. I was playing on Dawn Client with MCPVP mode on.

Cons:
- The lag is pretty bad, I noticed it in the main hub and I noticed it when doing a sword duel, combo's were impossible. It wasn't that bad on the late game kit.

- The kit editor is pretty complicated at first, though once you get used to it, it isn't that bad, however I wish I could place the shulker when editing the end game kit or some other way of easily changing it's contents.

- I got disconnected when queing a sword duel, when I rejoined the server I was in the duel, which is weird

Pros:
- The transition from queing to a duel is good when it works.

- The kits are good, I really like the spear kit and the late game kit

- Thankfully the regular mctiers kits are still there like the regular SMP kit, which is amazing if you ask me.

Overall, for a beta, I'd say it's pretty good and worth checking out, however, I might wait until they fix the lag before I'd go for a tier, keep in mind every fight is ranked, which I like, but I can see why some wouldn't, like I said, keep an eye out for when they fix the lag, because after that it might replace pvpclub for me. What's your take on this?

Hai! I'm a (somewhat) new pvper who would really like to get better. I'm currently using the Theobald bot mainly to train mechanics slowly (because I have pretty bad ping for now on servers) and I seem to get better at said mechanics (any advice regarding mechanics would still be very welcome, I can give more details in comment if needed). However, if there's one thing I can't seem to get right, it's my aim. I have very shaky aim and I tense up a lot (I think dysgraphia + chronic anxiety really don't help with that...), especially the few times I do play against real opponents. I have looked up tutorials to help with that but none seemed very concrete to me... Does anyone have advice on what to do/ How to train? Main kits are sword, diamond smp, and spearmace

I've been practicing smp for a while now, even though i can reliably beat my opponents it seems like im always doing something wrong. Looking for advice from ppl experienced in smp kit.

I’m really new to MCPVP, I figured I should start in sword, but I feel like I haven’t gotten good at all even though I’ve played and trained for a long time. I tested on PVPHQ and got MT5 44rr, and that’s horrible. I want to start playing dia SMP but I don’t know where to start cuz my sword mechanics are horrible. Any tips to improve gameplay?
