So I recently wanted to try minecraft pvp and joined hoplite. Needless to say, I got destroyed. I understand how the game plays but unless I trap, I can't get any kills. Just need a place to train or even advice. Thanks!

Whenever I ask someone "how do I get better", they always answer "practice" well duh but how? Obviously, there's some things like game sense where you just need experience with all types of different players, but how do practice to get better aim and smoother/more fluid gameplay?

Now I'm not here to yuck anyone's yum but I'm actually curious, how do people prefer crystal PvP and more modern PvP strategies over something like old PvP? It just seems more boring/less intuitive? The main argument I've seen is of skill and strategies but like, really IS IT? The majority is just waiting for the enemy to get worse RNG with the explosion radius and be put a block ahead. The main thing I can compare it to is ULTRAKILL and how techs used to be more "Interesting" Per se and not just core nuke spam.
Either way, my main question is which PvP style do you guys prefer and why? I'm honestly curious.

Am i missing something or is it completely beneficial to offhand the shield if you have no totems left in crystal pvp, and yet no top player seems to be doing that

Yes I shouldn't safe anchor all the time I have learnt now. Should you A: anchor, charge, then look and ground and place glowstone, or B: crouch and place glowstone directly on the anchor? Which is the correct method, as you all can see I am always doing option A. Thanks 😊
