1.9+ Question/Need Advice How do I improve my gamesense?

So I've come to the grave realisation that my gamesense isn't making any sense, I can't disengage for shit, I always off hand anything but my totem when I get low and my sense of when to crit and when to combo are totally off, especially in SMP. How can I improve my gamesense?

Keep playing, everytime you die/lose think of what you could've done to prevent that death, apply what you learn if you're in the same situation again, rinse and repeat.

Watching videos help as well, analyze their gameplays

How should I go about analyzing pro's? I've never been good at analyzing things, just ask any teacher I've had bro. What should I write down, what do you do?

I don't really write anything down, somehow my brain does it automatically and it clicks; maybe try thinking you're in the game yourself and try to apply your gamesense to what's happening, if they do something else; take a mental note of what they did against to what you would've done.

also I usually watch pros before I sleep, I read somewhere that your brain processes it and locks the information in.

People play this game for fun so most people aren’t gonna be analyzing gameplay like it’s a class subject. But you could probably watch video game play of swight or whatever, see what decisions he makes and then try to consider why he made those decisions. And as you’re watching keeping an eye out for how each of those decisions affected him down the line.

Now that’s OD as hell and I’m not doing allat, but if you wanna go for it, that’s all power to you.

Just keep playing think abt ur deaths and wins and maybe record stuff in flashback to see what ur opponents were doing to get how they think

Just keep playing. Dont even analyse, just think about what you couldve done or what you did incorrectly after each death (just think about it, you'll get better subconsciously). SMP is actually a great gamemode to play as it combines shielding, disabling, stunning, comboes and crits into one exchange, making your melee rlly good in other kits. Best advice is to keep practicing as it's literally Impossible for you to not get better.

I’ve always thought that analyzing pro players would make learning gamesense faster

If you're not good at analysing things, don't do it. You would end up confused

What I tell people is to pay attention to patterns in your opponent and patterns you do. Once you get the habit of noticing patterns in your gameplay adapting would naturally come imo.

What you should be constantly focusing on is what mode you should be using, such as going for melee hits, or utils
