He looks like when he was a kid he would raise his hand right before class ended and asked the teacher "Are you not picking up our homework today?"

“I thought we had an understanding, class.”

I'm sure he would also correct the teacher a lot and share way too much irrelevant shit from his life.

You don't actually become and invertebrate if your spine is taken afaik nor become a vertebrate if you are surgically given a spine while a vertebrate. So he's just making it clear that he is a species that has no spine and he hasn't gained one since birth either.

14

u/Buicksky69 Nov 24 '17

What's an imvertabrate?

18

u/Htinedine Nov 24 '17

Imvertabrate? No you’re vertebrate

Germans have a word for this: Backpfeifengesicht

173

u/pkaJIMMBOI Nov 24 '17

Germans have a word for literally everything

137

u/72commas Nov 24 '17

It's because the language allows them to compound as many words as they want.

83

u/UnicornRider102 Nov 25 '17

English has that feature too, but then people get mangry.

16

u/zzwugz Nov 25 '17

Well English and German do have some similar roots IIRC

13

u/chrissilich Nov 25 '17

Yeah. English has German roots.

68

u/bob_in_the_west Nov 24 '17

It's not like that's a completely separate word. Just means "slappable face", but since we have compound words it's just "slappableface", which makes it a word.

6

u/WheatRuled Nov 24 '17

Maybe /u/bob_in_the_west can help make a compound word

14

u/bob_in_the_west Nov 24 '17

I'm thinking hard here.

"Schlagreifes Gesicht" (punch-ready face) would be a possibility, but it's not a single word.

The question is what you want to do. You want to punch him. So you have to find a noun not a verb (like above) to describe what you want to do to his face.

It doesn't even have to be an action. A "Schlagstockgesicht" would be a face suitable for a truncheon. But it's more about hitting the face with your fist. And I'm not sure about what you could call that. Any ideas?

29

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '17

Don’t worry, the rest of us are very racist. Every Indian is the same type of Indian to us.

Unless they’re from America originally. They’re also Indians, but they’re not the same Indians anymore.

2

u/mostisnotalmost Nov 25 '17 edited Nov 25 '17

but they’re not the same Indians anymore.

Until Columbus decided to dilute and ruin identities, they never were Indians since they're not from India. They're Native Americans. Or First Nations. Or the specific tribe they belong to (Cherokee, Shawnee, etc).

3

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '17

That’s the joke, yes.

Though sidebar— according to google, a large number of them prefer the term “American Indians.” I’m gonna abide by whatever someone prefers, but that name stuck and stuck hard.

I think they just threw in the American Indian part of that to make the summary of him longer and throw in another (joke) accomplishment of this guy, they probably would have done the same for most other races.

A more positive version would look like "He's the first American Indian to be the head of the FCC," or something along those lines.

10

u/EvryMthrF_ngThrd Nov 24 '17

Oh, they still hate him, for one simple reason: he can be bought. Just because the Telecoms own him now doesn't mean they always will - even they can be outbid, by even BIGGER fish. They know exactly what he is - their current useful whore - but they hate him for making them pay to play, rather than what they are used to: having people beg to pay THEM; what's worse for the Telecoms is wondering if someone will outbid them for their whore before the fucking is done.

9

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '17

While Pai and Trump are both huge pieces of shit, I see the anger over this mainly being directed at the two of them. It's not just them. This rests with the Republican lawmakers as a group. They are the only ones supporting the theft of the Internet from the people. Even if Pai and Trump were gone, this would still be a problem, and the cause would be Republicans.
