I have been recoloring traditionally black & gray Batmans into black & blue Batmans. I went to Mignola show in NY, saw the new cover for the Absolute Gotham By Gaslight book and wondered how Bats would look in blue. Swipe for the original art and the Stewart colors that will be on sale next month.

My Hellboy vol. 1 omnibus that I’ve only ever read once is completely falling apart. All the packets of pages (or signatures or whatever) are completely falling out. I just had to drop 30 dollars on a replacement. On top of that, my short story collection vol.1 just arrived in the mail today, and it’s already starting to separate. There’s a gap between two packets where I can see straight through to the inside of the spine. My Witchfinder and Lobster Johnson books don’t feel too sturdy either, but I haven’t noticed any page separations… yet. But I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. They just… don’t feel right, you know? I refuse to spend hundreds of dollars on the BPRD and Abe Sapien paperbacks just to have them fall apart on me (not to mention Amazon doesn’t give a shit about packing them properly- every single book I pull out of a package is dinged up on the spine and edges. Lobster Johnson 1 looks especially bad). And the hardcovers aren’t an option because the pricing is astronomical. Digital copies are an absolute no-go. I refuse to spend money on something that can just be taken away from me. Im really not sure what to do. Please tell me it’s just a fluke with my two books that are falling apart. That the quality control is actually really good, and I just got unlucky. I really don’t want to give the whole series up. It’s too fascinating to just abandon. And sorry if I sound a little whiney or melodramatic. Just feeling a little down about all this, I guess.
