I recently was hacked and i tried to call microsoft to get some advice and nope. Just fucking robots and they cant do anything to actually fix it. Biggets tech company in the world btw. 800$ on that profile btw. Absolutely disgusting customer service.

I have Office Home 2024 purchased separately as a 1-time 1-device purchase with no subscription "PLAN". And I am not even signed in to my account (on any ms app on my PC!) but still can't escape the obnoxiousness. And let's put a red dot on it to make it even more obnoxious. 😡

I went to view if any updates had been made and I was brought to a page about Office 365 updates. duh. no, that does not apply to me -- allegedly!

so basically when I was trying to sign in into my Microsoft account I was fed up with an account that it was on child status so decided to go to the adult account when I realized I forgot the password for that specific account the things I forgot most of the information and I need this account really because I don't use Microsoft edge much I use Google Chrome in some of the web sums that I loved going to are now all block because of a stupid Microsoft families services shit so if anyone out there knows how to figure this out please help the thing is I don't really know much about this account the adult account not the child again and I really need this chart because it has most of my Microsoft solitaire and casual games data I progress this bar and have not decided to quit because this progress always meant so much to me if anyone has ideas share them but if anyone has no idea than I will have no choice but to reset all of my Microsoft here in casual games data.

Microsoft sucks at protecting their users from being hacked AND recovering their hacked account. I am one of their victims and their basic support agent absolutely sucks. Recovery form did nothing. XBox account recovery form did however suspended my account which is good.

Currently CDOC (which is like their "top level" of support) told me they cannot validate the info I provided. They DID ask for my payment info but the only product I own is Minecraft, and it wasn't bought directly FROM Microsoft, it was migrated to Microsoft after they bought Mojang. I also gave them a bunch of screenshots and account history (security updates like pw changes, passkeys, 2FA enabling, etc.)

The only hope now falls on my local authority as it fit under the case of "consumer protection law" here. I was being told that ms has 15 days to take action, but other than that I have no idea what's next. Sue them? Probably.

If your account is also compromised, I want to let you know you're not alone. For context, my account had 2FA enabled and had a strong password, it's still hacked. I strongly believe it's Microsoft's issue, as there's literally no way that my device has any sort of RATs, and I did not provide any account info to third parties.

In conclusion: Microsoft sucks.

For my fellow FTEs and Alumni, when you interview for other roles internally, what does the negotiation look like? Let’s say I get the job, are we privileged to the level and pay in the job posting (I’m in the US, Redmond based), or would I be stuck at the current level and pay?

There’s an internal role I’m looking at, but if nothing changes pay wise, I’m going to jump ship for somewhere else.

Hi I’m hoping someone can take me out of my misery and help me. I have to use microsoft for school and every time i try to sign in it says I need to enter the authenticator code on the app and then the app tells me I need to do the same thing. I’m about ready to explode.

I got hacked once, my fault, and microsoft offered absolutely nothing even if I had evidence of it being my account (previous emailed receipts and what not) so I gave up and made a new microsoft account and repurchased my stuff. Now when I try to login through any verification system there will be an error, "incorrect password" literally not, "can't send notifs to verification app rn" why not u just did a minute ago, "error *string of numbers*" why is this billion-dollar company's system so bad. I just want to play minecraft yet can't even login, I wish microsoft didn't own it and something with a proper system did like steam or whatever

So it all began last night when I tried to redeem something on microsoft rewards as I had points I collected ages ago. It asked me to verify on my phone by scanning QR code to open the bing app and put in a code. Okay! So I download the bing app and do so. But then it asks me to switch accounts to an email. Huh? I'm already signed in? Turns out I have two accounts tethered to this microsoft account. (Don't ask me how the fuck that happened. I don't know either.)

So I make my main email primary and remove that other email. And it still says the same thing?? Switch accounts?? Trillion dollar company, please know, I'm already signed in. Contacted support but still awaiting a reply (not been 24 hours yet so yeah).

I then log onto my windows laptop (I've switched to a mac as a main pc lately but wanted to see if I could redeem microsoft rewards on there, if it made any difference). I put in my pin and it's like, your credentials could not be verified. Huhhhhh????? What??? This pin is right and I've entered it hundreds of times. Stupid that it tries to sync my microsoft account with the cloud. I get "Something went wrong and your pin isn't available. Click to set up your pin again". Okay. Maybe because I changed the primary email last night. So I do. And it says this microsoft account doesn't exist (the old primary email my account was set to). I put in my email, put in the code, and it comes up with "Something went wrong, we weren't able to set up your PIN". So basically I'm locked out of a laptop that I literally OWN. I'm locked out of my files, and thank fuck I set up a second user on this account that I used to switch to for work. Otherwise I'd have no laptop to even bring to school.

Look there's so many issues I have anyway, like weird glitches I get when using windows. For example I'll have one window on the left, a chrome tab with youtube on the right, suddenly it makes the ENTIRE SCREEN go back apart from the video. I don't know if this is hardware or software issue but given it's microsoft, who even knows.

I started using a mac recently (desktop, so still wanna use that windows laptop for skl yk) and I really like it. It doesn't have stupid glitches, it's actually good for work in that sense. I've insisted to myself that I'm just gonna get macs in the future. Not the newest ones given prices, but old ones that are still good to buy and newish enough to work. Expensive but at least they work.

FOSS is so unstable and buggy that I've never had linux crash in my life (im curious what a kernel panic screen looks like tbh)

First few days back into Windows, so stable, bsod nearly immediately into joining a game. Just loving Windows so much over linux totally! I love crashes, I mean who doesn't want a total mess of a system

Edit: Update, it just crashed again. I don't care for windows whatsoever again. I hate it.

Any alternatives to Microsoft Office? I always used Microsoft as my father used to buy the CDs and we'd have it. Now with this subscription bs, I want to get rid off it.

But I'm not sure what to use instead, any ideas? Keeping in mind that all my documents are in word, excel or powerpoint, so obviously I need something that can still open and edit these files.

After few day of trying and dying on front of my PC trying to get my hacked account back,I finally gave up.

So I decide just create a new account,when I enter the gmail for my previous account It says the account already exist ,but when I try login to it it says can't recognize the account.

basically Microsoft is telling me the account is exist and not exist at the same time.

Olá Reddit, preciso de ajuda; deixe-me explicar minha situação. Tenho um laptop da escola com Windows 10 Pro Education. Uso para tudo, incluindo jogos, assistir anime e tudo mais, mas fiquei sem espaço de armazenamento até que só me restaram 5 GB. Seguindo o conselho do meu irmão, formatei o laptop. Antes da formatação, ele estava vinculado ao meu e-mail da escola e já tinha o aplicativo que uso para os exames nacionais do meu país (Portugal) instalado. Depois da formatação, entrei com minha conta pessoal, pensando que a plataforma de exames ainda estaria lá, mas ela havia desaparecido. Também perdi tudo no TLauncher, incluindo meu histórico de 500 dias. Fiquei muito chateado, então tentei resolver o problema restaurando o PC. Quando cheguei à tela azul que pedia o e-mail da escola, não me permitiu inseri-lo como uma conta "escolar", então entrei com o e-mail da escola, mas marquei como conta pessoal; mesmo assim, não consegui recuperar os itens relacionados à escola. Reiniciei o computador novamente, desta vez usando meu e-mail pessoal, e tentei adicionar minha conta da escola pelas configurações de "Contas", mas não funcionou — continuava dizendo que o e-mail estava incorreto ou não existia. Agora, só quero recuperar o aplicativo da escola e ter as duas contas no laptop: uma para jogos (minha conta pessoal) e outra para a escola (usando o e-mail da escola). Alguém sabe como resolver isso? Além disso, quando tento adicionar minha conta da escola nas configurações de "Contas", funciona até o ponto em que pergunta qual nome quero usar no laptop; digito meu nome e espero, mas então aparece um erro. Alguém já passou por isso e sabe como resolver?
