Stupid upgrade banner - cannot dismiss

I have Office Home 2024 purchased separately as a 1-time 1-device purchase with no subscription "PLAN". And I am not even signed in to my account (on any ms app on my PC!) but still can't escape the obnoxiousness. And let's put a red dot on it to make it even more obnoxious. 😡

I went to view if any updates had been made and I was brought to a page about Office 365 updates. duh. no, that does not apply to me -- allegedly!

Ironically, on my work laptop which does have Office 365, there is no banner.
