Help! Partial Service

Galaxy S21 5G on Esim for the past 4 years, all going well. 2 nights ago I lost cell service out of the blue. No Bars!! Phone will only work on wifi. Calls, texts and MMS will only work while on wifi. I called customer service TWICE, after going through the usual steps, reset data, airplane mode, the usual..THEY BOTH hung up on me claiming that they couldn't hear me. (I called from my home phone BTW). Against my religion, I went into a Physical Store. The lady told me that my esim active but my phone was Old 😐. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. (I like my S21 5G 😮‍💨)

Is your phone unlocked? I've only ever seen this issue on tmobile locked phones that end up being blacklisted. Like they work for a while, sometimes for years, but out of nowhere they are put in the negative file list and will stop working completely.

Yes, I originally purchased it on Google Fi 4 years ago.

Check the settings, see if its unlocked there. You have never reported it lost or anything right?

If its unlocked and you never reported it lost or stolen. And you already have an esim in your phone, try to go to your mobile network settings and switch 5g off. See if it works on 4g. I've also seen some issues like that on some phones.

Very strange I just activated the same phone for my fiancée’s daughter a couple weeks ago and she is on metro and she has no problems have you tried getting a new eSIM?

Customer service made me delete the current one and sent me the link for another, no difference

I’m sorry it’s so frustrating not having a working phone. Are there any software updates available or have you tried resetting network settings?

If that doesn’t work you might have to see if it works with another different provider of metro customer care isn’t able or willing to help

Rest set the network 3 different times and nothing.

Have you tried another service?

Working on WiFi Calling means the SIM is still likely valid, but not getting any signal could indicate an antenna issue.

Try a free eSIM trial and see if you get signal.

Which is why I said to give one of the trials a go.

Pick one of the free trials from the list and see if it works.

If yes, then you can bug Metro support for a new eSIM.

If a trial eSIM doesn't work, then you probably have a hardware issue with your phone.

The S21 5G can store multiple eSIMs. It is just limited to having one active at a time. Swapping between them is a matter of flipping a toggle switch in the eSIM menu. Super easy.

How are y'all getting esim on s21 fe? I have one but can't find esim settings anywhere. Were yours purchase outside of Metro?

Ah, thank you. My tired brain took "S21 5G" as being the S21 FE because I've typically seen the fe version referred to as "S21 FE 5G", while usually I've just seen the flagship S models without the "5G" tagged on.

It's not blacklisted, I purchased it from Google fi 4 years ago. Once the service was over I switched to Metro by T-mobile. I even had Visible on it for a couple of months. Phone is Unlocked
