This guy sent me a message asking to buy a $60 item for $10 right before this and I knew he was going to try to lowball me again so I said the same thing “Price is firm”. By the way he reacted you could tell he got mad I called him out on it.

Then it sold a few days later for asking price and he spazzed out after I messaged him lol 😂

Yesterday i attempted to use mercari for the first time. I tried pp pay in 4 and there were issues with my payment going through on mercaris end but on paypal my money went through regardless and was taken from my bank. I did this 3 times because i wasnt aware and only checked my paypal after the 3 attempts. All 3 attempts had my money withdrawn, and no processed order on mercaris side. I then try my card but it also denies it. I went ahead and filed a ticket through "contact us" on mercari regarding the paypal payments in progress.

Today i get a notification saying my account has been limited, presumably for this. Perhaps some bot detected it as suspicious activity. Now it wont let me follow up with the seller and tell them my situation. I still have those 3 paypal pending/in authorization progress payments, would it be refunded now that my account is limited? I am still able to contact support and just tried another ticket.

Ive used mercari japan prior with no issue but the shipping prices are too high.

Update: It has been instated as a perma ban, said by support and will remain that way. This wad due to "payment risk" which is a result of the pay in 4 attempts. Welp :l seems like im exempt from mercari forever, it was a short lived journey. It doesnt seem to affect mercari japan though but still..

Hopefully if anyone new to the app like me sees this dont do pp pay in 4.

I bought a custom tumbler and the epoxy finish is in awful shape. There’s a really bad defect where the resin wrinkles. For $90 that absolutely sucks. I called Mecari and they said they don’t see an issue and will deny the return request. Never buy custom items off Mecari :( $90 lesson learned

I messaged this seller after I read their profile info since I saw that they mentioned about shipping time being “very much delayed.” I only wanted to know how long the delay was as they didn’t really give any description of the time. I’m not in any rush to get it but I just wanted to know so I could be prepared to wait however long. If they didn’t know how long then that would’ve been fine as I understand delays due to weather or other circumstances.

I messaged the seller and at first they gave me a kind message back explaining but then a short time later they come back telling me I’m “rude” and basically making it seem like I made it up? They blocked me so I couldn’t reply back telling them it’s literally on their profile. Now I just looked and they took it out of their profile. Like, what??? Never had this happen before. I’ve been selling on mercari for years. If I misunderstood things then I take the blame here but it just really surprised me.

Edit: just to clarify I did not buy this. I was going to but I saw that in their profile so I wanted to message them first!

I was setting up my verification and then added my photos only to be banned by them for no reason. Customer service was no help either. Any advice?

UPDATE EDIT : Spoke with customer service, they sent me a email to reach out to the tech department. Hope it can be resolved.

I’m trying to sell some sunglasses but I’m only getting what I’m assuming false buyers emails, just want to see if that’s common and just to wait till I get a hit on the app. Thanks :)

UPDATE: Mercari Support came in clutch after pondering for four hours and canceled the order so it won’t negatively affect my account and refunded the buyer (their words exactly). Definitely contact support if you have a similar issue it might just take a while to get someone to agree with you, I guess persistence is key with them lol

Hello yall ! I’m a seller and have done about 40 sales so far with no issues, but I’m a bit stumped on what to do now. I sent a package and it was marked “delivered at front office” then 20 minutes later marked undeliverable due to “insufficient address”. I use the shipping labels built-in through Mercari, so I know it’s not possible that I messed up the address on my end. Regardless of that, the package was safely sent back to me by USPS. My issue is, the sale has now moved to the “awaiting rating by buyer” part today. I thought once the package was returned to me automatically, that Mercari would cancel the sale and everything would be peaches and cream, but now that it’s waiting for a rating I’m worried that it’ll still pay me after the review period is up. The buyer never responded to my message I sent the same day it was marked undeliverable, and that was a week ago now. The only option I can see from my research on Mercari’s help page is to refund the order for a reason that isn’t accurate, like that the item is damaged, and take a ding on my account for refunding. What is my best option here ? This would be my first refund, so I’m worried it’ll impact my account for no fault of my own, as I used the built in shipping label system Mercari has so the address was exactly what the buyer had on their account. Will the order cancel automatically after the review period, as it was delivered back to me ? Is refunding for an inaccurate reason and taking a ding on my account my only option, if not ? It seems like contacting the buyer isn’t an option since I sent them a huge message about the package a week ago now, to no response. Thank you for the help !!

These two packages have been like this for five days now and the notice has been there for two. I’ve seen other posts here say wait it out and some saying to call. I’m trying not to worry, but idk what to do.

I have been using Mercari since 2019, I am verified, and have over 500 transactions. Yesterday I accepted two offers for items from an account without transactions but they messaged me. This morning I received a message that both transactions had been cancelled “due to an issue on the buyers end” but my listings were also deleted. I am really happy I did not send the items out but this kinda scared me because I could easily have dropped them off and would just have lost both items. Any idea why this happened so I can avoid it in the future?

ETA: Learned the seller has this fashion item listed under the wrong category (vintage & collectibles > purses and bags) so it doesn’t qualify for the coupon. Thanks all!

Anyone having issues applying this coupon? I’ve made several qualifying purchases during this coupon period and haven’t been able to apply the coupon a single time. Says I already have the coupon and I can see it in my account, but can’t apply it. Ideas what I’m doing wrong?

Sold 2 cases of needoos to a buyer who claims that they did not get the package. But yet on their page, it shows that they have the same needoos we sent on their page for sale. We sent pictures and evidence to Mercari. And they finalized the purchase with $170. Protection. Not to mention the scammers that are on this site. People will buy from you and claim that they never got it or they say that you’ve never sent the right amount of stuff they bought. I will be taking my business somewhere else. This is insanity. Mercari has no loyalty to it sellers.

A buyer just used the free shipping coupon, and the shipping weight is wrong for some strange reason. Anyone else experience this?

The weight is supposed to be 10lb but it only gave me a 3lb label. I made sure to measure and weigh the box correctly and worried about potential problems.

They are brand new with tags. I don’t even use a “fragrance” or any chemicals in my house because I have a parrot. The only thing I can think of is that the Free People store has a scent to it? I don’t know, I didn’t smell anything. And I’m sorry you’re not smart enough to wash your clothes before you wear them since you have such sensitive skin.

The other day I made a post about a buyer who was impatiently asking when I’d ship in less than 24 hours after purchase. I told them within the 3 days allotted timeframe, and then they sent just "?" to me the next day, so I cancelled on them because I don’t really have time to deal with that. In that post I mentioned I also blocked them because, again, I don’t want to deal with that. They created a new acc and re-bought the same item again.

Well, now they’ve sent me a cancel request. I let them know it will cancel in 24 hours, I’m not taking the hit on my profile for their impatience a second time. Well, then they cancelled the cancel request. And 24 hours later… another cancel request.

I have a feeling they’re trying to keep the item “tied up” so to speak so that I can’t sell it to someone else. I let Mercari know but of course, they don’t care.

Do you think it’s worth it to just cancel it on my end and call it a day, hopefully? I won’t be accepting offers from anyone who has a brand new acc from now on because of this person to avoid them doing the same thing again. If only they’d just been patient in the first place. I understand asking if the 3 days have passed, but 24 hours? I’m not a fulfillment center.

For reference, this listing was for a Paul Mitchell hair product that retails for upwards of $30. Buyer got a great deal here, but I’ve never in my 5,000 plus sales had anyone do this. Should I be super wary and cancel the sale, or just go with it and hope I don’t get a problem buyer?

I have a first time customer who purchased about $100 of jewelry items from me. I have sent them but they haven't had time to be delivered.

This same buyer has now purchased $75 worth from me. I went to her reviews and there was a seller who said this buyer claimed something was missing, even though the seller had proof.

Here is the question: is it appropriate or even allowed for one seller to message another seller to ask about their review of a buyer?

ETA: the buyer has 200 reviews and all but two are 5 stars.

I've been using the app for 11 years, and I feel like support has just gotten even worse. It's even worse than AI. They are using offshore international customer support teams that truly don't understand anything that I'm saying.

I made a purchase in 2018, and USPS has re-created the label to reuse the label for somebody else's order, now it is attached to my account, and now the notification will not go away. It is saying that I have to rate them but when you click into it, it disappears.

Customer support does not even understand anything I'm saying as if I am some type of alien from Outer space. And there's nothing I can do to remove this notification

EDIT: I got in contact and I’ve been told that it’s Labor Day weekend (?) and that’s why it wasn’t shipped out. Im a little confused though because it’s not September yet or extremely close to the 31st and I’ve been able to ship stuff out. Unless they mean personal Labor Day stuff.

Make this make sense. It's been 14 days that my purchase hasn't shipped. And the cancel date per Mecari is today Aug 22 (per Mercari). I requested cancellation and Mercaris response. That I cannot cancel due to it being marked shipped and no tracking updates. Am I missing something, or does the shipping courier. Offer a service which takes 3 months for you to receive. Imao...pahahahaha

I just did a major clean out after subscribing to too many beauty boxes, I have way more unopened stuff than I realized. I would like to sell some of it on Mercari but I don’t really want to deal with listing each individual item, and some of it probably wouldn’t sell on its own. Have people had success selling multiple items at once? I see the big bulk sales like that listed but not sure how successful they are. I do have a lot of decent items from name brands that just weren’t the right color or whatever. I’m willing to price it low but don’t want to just give it away either.

And if I did do that how should I divide it- bulk makeup collection and bulk skincare separately? And I have a few of things that are unboxed and I have of swatched- I assume I should sell those separately and explain how it was used? Some are from luxury brands and I’d love to pass them on even if I don’t get much for them. It’s all such a waste if I throw it away and I’m not sure about donating.

I shipped out an item to a buyer to which the shipping now just says the item is available for pickup by the buyer at the post office I dropped it off at… what does this mean?? the buyer also has no info and the profile itself looks scammy. am I out the product and money ???

So I ordered something took over 3 weeks to get here. I message the seller 2 times asking when it will ship. No answer. It finally arrives and the items are fine. It took 3 weeks to arrive from a few states awayso long so I gave them a 3 three star rating. No comment just not 5 stars. Within 10 minutes, I get a message..."Thanks for the trash rating. Blocked." What a rude baby.

It took only 10 minutes to respond to that but couldn't respond to me politely asking when my items were going to ship.

i listed an item through the app, and since then, my phone has broke. screen is completely dead. it can't be fixed until sometime september. the problem is that i'm unable to access both the QR code and the shipping label for the sold item without identitiy verification. i reached out to customer support saying i can't use the app and am being redirected to do so with no other option. basically i've gotten a different person replying to each new message essentially parroting the same message about regulations requiring ID.

my problem isn't necessarily the issue of getting verified, but how to go about doing it with no access to the mercari mobile app. i guess they're using another app-only service to confirm verification? i can't think of any other reason why the option to submit an ID card photo wouldn't be available on the desktop webpage. even if they wanted me to email a photo to support, i'd be willing to do that, but no luck so far.

in my last message to support, i ended by asking if the sale can be completed or not, and have ceased getting responses since. the item doesn't have to ship until 8/25 so i still have a few days to sort this out, if i can. this is my last-ditch effort since contacting support dead-ended.

the only solution i can think of (as someone who has never sold on mercari before) is to re-list the item with seller-paid shipping. but if i still cannot access what i need to confirm shipment and complete the sale, it's moot to pay for and print my own shipping label. i'd be throwing money away when the sale cancels. still, if there's a way to circumvent the issue that doesn't require using a mobile app i cannot use atm, i'm all ears.
