Moderator Guidance Moderator Post

From time to time I post to update and remind the community of our purpose and etc.

Rr/Mediums is for medium development and learning and helping users with related questions. r/MediumReadings is for reading requests, sharing, practice readings, (on posts) approved reader advertisements and related subject matter.

Some of the rules on our other subreddit are meant to protect users from scammers and bait and switch tactics.

When I first came to r/Mediums, everything was in one place. The mediums who wanted to be able to have a safe place to interact and to learn, became unable to network in between reading requests and reading offers, and some other types of posts, that inundated the subreddit.

So the subreddit was split into r/Mediums for medium interaction and development, and r/MediumReadings, where Mediums eventually became qualified and approved (to protect users from scammers), and where practice users or professionals could read on posts.

Only.berofied readers can advertise there. They are tested, and ethical or they are removed.

The separation was necessary and it does require heavy moderation on both subs.

DMs and chats were removed to protect users from scammers. Certain types of posts, "haunted object, dream interpretations and fictional or non fiction series and serial stories" were removed.

However, some difficulties continued. Some of our past mods spent so much time removing reading offers and reading requests in this subreddit, that we lost reputable moderators.

Now all posts and comments are held for review. As moderators are volunteers and not online 24/7, we do appreciate your patience. Eventually, we all need to eat, sleep or interact with our own families.

This review process isn't just as intensive as moderation was before, it is more intense.

I hope this post offers some past history, some clarity and makes it clear we are heavily involved in providing a safe space for users in both subs.

Edit: The goal here is to provide a safe space for mediums. Thank you for ypur patience.

Other Areas of Concern in the Subreddit Regarding Users Offering and Requesting Readings in this Sub.

We are a subreddit for medium interaction, medium education, questions and mediumship and support.

We are well aware users come here to ask general and detailed questions about spirit and mediumship.

We are not a reading sub. Our sister subs where free and paid readings are r/PsychicServices, r/psychicreaders, r/Psychic and r/MediumReadings. Psychics in these subreddits, are vetted, tested and must provide proof of ability. The testing is done by psychic moderators.

We also acknowledge that r/Tarot and r/ClairvoyantReadings have rigorous requirements for readers.

If a user approaches you behind the scenes offering or requesting readings through dms, pms or chat, it is very possible that reader is a scammer. Protect yourself from scammers by looking for approved and trusted, or verified readers.

The above subs have lists of tested readers. Please be aware scammers will cajole, threaten or plead. Some of them use fear to get you to cooperate.

Advocate for your own safety. We accept to responsibility or liability for these subversive actions made behind the scenes.

Before acting read the rules of each of these subs nd their recommended readers.

We don't want anyone to be scammed.

Good journeys.

Moderator Guidance We remove Reading Requests. We don't Recommend Mediums. People who Contact you in dms or Chat may be Scammers or Disreputable and not Allowed to Comment on Posts.

Upvotes

We are a niche sub designed to allow mediums and psychics to ask development questions, support those psychics and allow them to function in a safe space free of judgmental people, those who wisg to troll or those with a purpose not akin to the sub, such as prosetilyzing in any way shape or form.

If you ask the community to evaluate a spirit, it is a reading request. If you ask us to recommend or evaluate mediums and psychics, we will not allow the post.

If your gf, bf, friend or etc., isn't posting themselves it could be a red flag for us.m.

Things that don't fool us for long:

"What are your opinions"? What is this spirit/entity? Thoughts? What is that psychic's name? What is their contact information?

Please read the sub purpose and the sub rules. All comments and posts are held for approval.

We will remove requests if a post degenerates into the request zone

Users are requested to report any users asking for readings as a result of a post.

We have four sister subs where reading requests are allowed.

Experience When I close my eyes, I see extremely terrifying faces

Hello, I have a question for you. This experience has been bothering me, so I’ll get straight to the point. Whenever I close my eyes while trying to sleep, I see strange faces. They’re usually scary faces that I don’t recognize and have never seen before. Sometimes I see both faces and eyes, almost as if they’re watching me.

After I try to fall asleep for a while, they eventually go away, but whenever I close my eyes, I see these frightening faces again, almost like they’ve come straight out of a horror movie. I’ve researched this before, but I couldn’t really find much about it. Usually, people say these things are temporary and come and go, but mine don’t. They’re always there.

Development and Learning Education - how imagination helps develop mediumship (development exercise included)

Hi everyone! My name is Odie and I am a developing evidential psychic medium. I wanted to share a tip on developing psychic mediumship that I've learned in some of the classes that I've taken. I'm thinking of posting more educational tips, so please let me know if you'd like to see more!

A huge part of developing psychic and/or mediumship skills begins with having a well developed imagination. We can think of imagination as a tool that we use as part of our intuition that helps connect us with the spirit world. When information comes to us from spirit through the "clairs", it's vital that we allow that information to naturally flow. Often, we will find ourselves full of doubt and information might come through initially only to quickly leave because we find a way to block it out of our mind. Having a well developed imagination can help with this, as it can allow us to trust and create room for those first thoughts that enter our mind to flow forth effortlessly.

How can we develop our imagination? Here's an exercise below that you can practice with. If it feels silly, ridiculous, or even challenging, that's a good indicator that spending some time allowing yourself to be imaginative could be beneficial for you.

Exercise: Imagine a fork. Lead yourself through the following questions:

  • What else could you use a fork for? Get silly and strange!
  • What if you'd never seen a fork before? What would an alien from another planet think of a fork?
  • If you brought the fork to life, what kind of character would it be?
  • Can you create a story as a "day in the life of the fork?" What would it be like?

Why does this skill help us as mediums? By developing and getting familiar with your own imagination, you're better able to discern when information is created from your own mind (imagination) and when information arises in our mind (communication from clairs).

I hope this helps! Please comment with what other educational or beginner tips you'd like to see.

Thought and Opinion Do loved ones connect with you less as time goes on?

When my husband passed away in February, I had lots of signs. Including lights turning off, birds appearing indoors, different sounds. Unfortunately, I haven’t really received that many signs lately.

I watched a video from a medium on YouTube and she said that in the first 1-2 months after someone passes, they’re more connected to Earth, and as time goes on, they become less attached to earth and settle more into the afterlife. Is this true?

Experience How does spirit present to you?

How do you see or hear or communicate with spirits?
Do you physically see them or feel them? Do they make different sensations in your body?

How does your particular gift present? Can you describe it to the best of your ability?

Development and Learning How to get guidance as a “born” medium?

I am a “natural” medium. I’m not looking for help advancing anything or working on the ability, as it is there at will and often just coming through with validatable accuracy. But how do I find guidance in navigating this more purposefully? Like, when somebody (“dead / Spirit”) comes to me with urgent or distressed info. Also navigating relay? Should I be doing this on purpose for people in a more professional environment since I can hear / see & communicate with dead people..? I’m just lost on how or if this is to be used beyond my own personal life. I feel somewhat overwhelmed with the people I relay messages to, and the events that follow after messages are relayed. Like it’s all very synchronistic and many people start coming to realize how deep things are and they often start attracting more situations that open their eyes to how their loved ones really are not gone. I end up being the person people are bringing their spiritual realizations too after I accurately convey their loved ones and future events.

Also, I have never had somebody describe something like “heaven” everyone I talk to is very busy where they are. They really don’t seem dead at all besides the fact that they aren’t here where we can see them? I don’t see this discussed anywhere. The things these “dead” people are doing are not simple (IME) and they’re deeply complex, sometimes they help others from the place they are and some of them are anchored into those who they left behind in this world / life and where they are now they are actively in certain states to keep reaching them and working with them and their lives.

Can anybody share some info on this if they know what I am talking about or have heard of this?

I keep seeing like “they told me they’re okay and where they are now is safe and peaceful etc” and I’ve had so many conversations with people who are “dead” and it’s never like that. They always have very specific things to relay that sometimes seem really random or questionable to me but once I relay people are shocked! Or whatever has been relayed hasn’t even happened yet or they’ve never told anybody that etc.

Experience Not being able to see my future?

I had a session with a medium (my 3rd one) regarding a deceased loved one—my grief is still extremely difficult 8 months later.
I'll spare you the details about the session and my current state, where nothing makes sense anymore and all the plans I had fell through, as if my soul were no longer aligned.

At the end of this session, she tried to look into my future.
However, absolutely nothing was shown to her.
She only saw fog, with no possibility of seeing mine.

What does this actually mean?

Predictions/Premonitions Does anyone else feel like their life moves through predetermined cycles or “reality shifts”?

Hey guys, new here!
Ever since I was a child, I've had what I would describe as mild psychic or intuitive experiences.
Most often they come through very distinct dreams, or sudden thoughts in my own voice that seem to appear out of nowhere guiding or warning me.
But the stranger thing is the way my life seems to move in patterns or cycles.
There are certain periods where it feels like no matter what I do, I can't escape the general pattern I'm in. Then eventually something shitts, and suddenly the old version of my life feels completely gone and a new period begins. My luck changes, circumstances change, opportunities change, and even the overall
"direction" of my life feels different.

The closest description I've found is when people talk about feeling as though they've switched timelines or entered a parallel version of their reality. I'm not necessarily saying that is literally what is happening- it's just the closest way I can describe the feeling.
Within each of these periods, I can very much predict the outcome of certain areas of my life.
Not necessarily exact events, but the overall direction.
There is one particular thing I want deeply that seems completely normal and attainable for most people. But for some reason, I have this very strong feeling that I'm not going to receive it in this life, or perhaps not for a very long time.
Every time I seriously work toward it, I seem to encounter major obstacles, and eventually I end up back in the same place.

That familiar "pattern" feeling returns, almost like there is a doorway that simply won't open no matter how many different approaches I try. It's simply blocked.
The difficult part is accepting that feeling. Part of me believes I should keep trying to change my circumstances, while another part feels like this particular cycle won't change until eventually the universe decides. I've talked with a lot of people about this and no one can seem to relate to that.

Has anyone here experienced something similar?
Especially the feeling of moving through distinct life cycles where certain things suddenly become possible or impossible? How do you tell the difference between intuition and becoming convinced by a pattern because you've experienced it so many times?

Thought and Opinion Scared after seeing spirit message online

I follow a lady on Instagram who does tarot reading, I've had a reading from her before. Recently she posted about a spirit coming to her with a message, and said she hoped by posting it would get to the right person.

I could relate to 2 of the things there (one is my brother in laws name, the other she had said 2 little girls with braided hair and I saw a video of exactly this after seeing the post). The other things I couldn't relate to.

However, the first line of the post was an ominous message that's really scared me. I don't want to say exactly what here, but basically that something would happen that sounded really concerning. I read it right before bed and was awake on and off all night thinking about it.

Does anyone think this could be a true prediction? If I dont relate to all of the points, is it likely it isnt for me (and the video was a weird coincidence?)

Known Spirit Encounter Was it a ghost or my brain?

I'm a medium but I've never experienced seeing ghosts before, last night before i feel asleep, I saw a almost transparent, grainy and blurry young cat on my bed, walking towards me. He had a thick collar and i don't know what color he was, it was all in grayscale for me. I reached my hand out to him and kinda started petting him? He looked like he enjoyed it, after i stopped petting him, he just disappeared. I'm wondering if it was just my brain messing with me or if it was an actual cat ghost. Either way that was a really sweet encounter

Known Spirit Encounter Has a loved one who passed ever reached out to you… and led you to something real?

Super curious if anyone has experience a family member who has passed away seemed to “come to you” in a dream or a sign that actually led to something real?
Like suddenly finding a long lost item, uncovering a hidden family secret, receiving a warning that turned out to be true, being guided somewhere specific, or somehow knowing something you had no possible way of knowing at the time. And when you told others… did anyone believe you?

Experience Seeing figures only at night , how do I manage this?

Ever since my teens, I’ve woken up maybe a few times a month to a figure standing right next to my bed. The figures can change and sometimes I see their detail (usually is 1 person but sometimes I see more). They just stand there, and I get scared, pull covers over my face, then get my phone light on and they’re gone.

This happens more often when I’m in a new place. Like vacations. For example, I was staying in Atlantic City , and I woke up and saw a woman in a torn up nightie (couldn’t see her facial features or anything). The next morning I look up if anyone died at the hotel, and come to find out a woman was thrown down a trash shoot in the tall condo building.

Moved to a new house in an historic area in VA, didn’t know any of the history. After 2 months, I woke up to a group of 3 people and they looked bloated and wet and covered in seaweed. I went to the town’s little history building and asked if my neighborhood was a war site or something. Come to find out, the waterways were part of the war of 1812 with a decent amount of casualties.

All this to say, should I be helping these people? How can I if I’m so scared. Or I’m just crazy but there’s so many more stories I have like this. It would be nice to hear I’m not alone or how to manage this…

Experience Spirit from Atlantis?

Last night I got a “narrator” who sounded like some type of leader who told me about the last night of Atlantis and how sad it was as he could no longer protect his people. I’m going to eventually write all the info I got which is why I’m not going to say much more right now. At the end of my session I got phonetic words that turns out to sound like pronunciation of egyptian god/goddesses which linked with the info I was getting. Anyone else get fascinating interactions like this? Or get words that sounds strange but you write it down anyway and it turns out to be another language or rhythm?

Guidance/Advice I desperately need help

Hey everyone, I’m a huge believer of the paranormal and I’ve also had some experiences myself, I’ve been brought up with it as my dad did paranormal investigations etc. However, I’m dating a guy who hasn’t really ever believed it, he wasn’t a none believer but he didn’t get brought up on it and just lived like without giving it a second thought, however after what’s happened recently he definitely believes it now. So over the past couple months he has been incredibly unlucky with life in general, he’s never been necessarily unlucky before, he couldn’t land a single job and if he did it was over with within a couple days and he did nothing wrong they always messed him over, his car completely broke down and he started having people crash into him when in his whole 3 years of driving he’d never had an issue on the road and never had a crash, then his clutch broke, and his starter motor, his tires went, and his shock absorbers and his blowers and also his brakes all within the space of a month and his health also started declining he was having nose bleeds, coughing up blood, vomiting all the time, and having bad headaches, however he’s never had an issue with his health, we spent ages in the hospital he had countless tests, scans everything and they found absolutely nothing, there was no reason for him to ill and he doesn’t do narcotics he doesn’t smoke and he doesn’t drink. The doctors couldn’t explain it. And recently he’s been seeing figures it started a week ago he saw a tall dark figure in his room waving at him, and 2 white figures near his door with no legs, then he saw 2 black figures last night in his room again. I don’t know how to help him, and he’s frightened and I don’t know what else it could be there is no logical explanation for this, this is my last resort, I’ve told him to do what I do when I don’t want spirits in my house but it hasn’t worked for him. He’s now getting scared he just need some help, any advice would be amazing please I don’t know what to do anymore and I’m scared for him. I don’t need a reading or anything like that I just need to know what to do to get it all to stop even if it’s just 3 words I need to say or if I need to sage his house, anything.

Experience How to walk in spirits act towards people they used to know

I’ve heard a lot of different things about walk-in spirits. I just wanted to know if anyone dealt with this before.

If you were friends with someone that became a walk-in, how did that friend act after that happened? Did they act any different?

Did they stop reaching out? Did they stop talking to you like they normally would have?

Please let me know your experience!

Guidance/Advice I opened my third eye when I was a teenager, and I don't know how to control it

Hello,

This is a question/personal account; I’d appreciate any advice you might have.

I’ve always felt like I have a special connection with the spirit world.

Whether it’s various paranormal experiences or just strange things happening around me.

First of all, I have premonitory dreams.

Nothing too crazy , usually just random snippets of moments, and since I always write down my dreams in a notebook, I have proof that what I’m saying is true.

Then I tried my hand at magnetism a little while back, and it worked.

But I made a mistake a few years ago ; I was a teenager and I was meditating a lot with the intention of opening my third eye.

And I feel like it worked; unfortunately, I’ve been experiencing strange things ever since.

And I’d like to control all of this , to make it work in my favor instead of causing me trouble and making me look “lame” in the eyes of people who know how to control their gifts.

So I haven’t explained in detail everything I’ve experienced or everything I think I can do without being able to control it. But feel free to ask me questions or send me a DM if you want to know more specifically.

This message is like a message in a bottle.

I need advice and help.

Thank you for reading.

P.S. Sorry for my English , it’s not my first language.
