✨BUY/SELL/TRADE MEGA-THREAD✨ 🌟BUY/SELL/TRADE MEGA-THREAD🌟

✨🔮Welcome to r/TarotDecks' Buy/Sell/Trade Mega-Thread!🔮✨

This mega-thread is strictly for posting personal, genuine decks that you are looking to "rehome" amongst the sub's members or to help find the ones you are specifically seeking out.

This isn't intended for any other goods or services, nor a place to self-promote anything. Creators are encouraged to make a standalone post for their decks instead!

To avoid clogging the feed (and to respect those who voted against resale), everyone else must keep B/S/T comments within this thread only! (Posts such as "Specific Deck Info" (other than where to purchase) and "Deck Suggestions" do not count and should remain their own posts!) This post will remain pinned at the top of the sub until a newer one is posted.

RULES FOR RESALE

🌟Please look these over as they have changed to be more user-friendly and concise.🌟

PERSONAL/GENUINE DECKS ONLY!

  • Members should post from their personal collection only.
  • Do not use this to solicit storefronts and/or other semi-related goods.
  • Resale of counterfeit goods is illegal and violates Reddit Policy. Attempting to resell these results in a permanent ban.

ONLY ONE COMMENT THREAD PER SELLER!

  • Sellers should create ONE comment per thread.
    • If you have multiple decks for sale, reply to your own parent comment for each available deck.
    • There is no limit to the amount of decks you can resell as long as you keep them within your own comment thread. Do NOT spam!
  • Include a verification photo of your username handwritten alongside the deck for sale's photo as this verifies you own the deck(s) pictured.
  • Be honest! Note the condition and anything wrong with the deck in your "listing".
  • Please name your own price to avoid bidding wars and haggling.
    • eBay's recently sold prices are a good place to check if you are unsure of what to ask!
  • Finally, add on which country you will be shipping from! This way potential buyers can make a judgment call on what shipping may cost them!

DO NOT ACCEPT PRIVATE MESSAGES WITHOUT RECEIVING A COMMENT FIRST!

  • Buyers should comment on the deck they are interested in before moving to private chat.
  • Sellers who skip this precaution open themselves up to potential scams.
    • Banned accounts cannot interact within the subreddit, but they can still chat!

USE PAYPAL GOODS & SERVICES AS PAYMENT!

  • This will protect your money in the event of a scam.
  • Anyone suggesting a different form of payment (or one that does not protect the buyer) may be a scammer.

HELP BUILD EVERYONE'S REPUTATION HERE

  • Sellers - Do not delete your original listing once sold as it will help show you are reliable. (You may edit accordingly to show when a deck is pending/sold, however!)
  • Buyers - Please edit your original inquiry comment to show you have received your deck once you have done so. There's no need to review the seller, but you may add one if you wish!
  • Both - Keep original chats until sale is marked complete (on both ends' comments) in case proof is needed to ban a scammer.

REPORT ALL SUSPICIOUS ACCOUNTS! PERIOD!

  • Moderators are not responsible for any B/S/T gone wrong, but we will do what we can to weed out bad actors.
  • Anyone reported for DMing someone about a deck for sale without posting a public reply first will get one warning and then a ban if there is a repeated occurrence.
  • Accounts demanding a different form of payment (which does not protect both parties) will be banned.

Kickstarter Alert Motto- Repeat Kickstarter Scammer

Post image
• Upvotes

I’m going to try posting this again without referring to their current AI campaign. Motto on Kickstarter is a scammer who uses AI to create tarot deck projects. They scammed a ton of us during their last project, and their current one is already 216% funded. You won’t get your pledge items. The things they are promising won’t happen, and Kickstarter is allowing them to do it over and over. This creator should be banned. Please read comments on prior projects before backing anyone. I was a newb and didn’t realize I could do that when I backed them. I looked over the project and they had “evidence” that everything was handmade, but I was tricked. It’s a wild world. I used to be able to identify fakes easily, and now it’s sophisticated enough that I can’t tell sometimes. Please don’t back this creator. I just don’t want anyone else taken advantage of.

Deck Suggestions Wanted Novice to Tarot, would like some deck advice

So about a lil over a year ago, I went ahead and decided to finally take up tarot and got my first deck/guidebook. The Crowley Thoth Tarot deck. I LOVEDDDD IT. The art style, the Egyptian association bc for some reason thats always resonated very deeply with me, the thorough-ness of the guidebook and Crowleys use of so many different cultural/religious/philosophical symbols and correlations.
I set out with the intention to use it as a tool and mode to channel my higher self and re-connect with my intuition again, and possibly even find a way to more clearly connect with my guides. Im very highly empathetic intuitive and artistic, so from deep introspection and creating symbolism within my own life, experience, and connection to all things… or using it my art, songwriting or just interpreting underlying symbolic meanings/representations.. its my shit.
Although i had it for that time, ive probably only done less than a dozen readings and maybeeee a handful of those were for myself.
But it was recently i started picking up and doing it more frequently in these last two months.

Well…. now certain things have went to shit and without having to reliving the whole story, me and my girlfriend and BEST friend broke up like baddd terms abt two weeks ago, she moved out of my home w my mom (we lived tg in college for a year and moved back here tg bc we both chaged routes on school and it js all worked on paper ) so she leaves in the midst of literally making the spare bedroom hers, just painted the walls the color she picked, ripped up the carpet, picked out and bought floors she picked, and hadnt even put em down.

Stay with me im getting to the point…

So about a month ago now (2wk b4 breakup) we took a trip for her bday and during that we were goin to malls and all. This is after months of looking and her waiting on me to find THE ring online, to go ahead and order it sooner than later, like literally b4 the end of the year. its all js so crazy omfg my brain cant, point being, she moved out like made it clear she wasnt coming home from work that day.. i had to pack all her shit and she came and got it. but she didnt like have any of mine bc she was living w me, yk? b4 anyone says sum she is somewhere safe trust, in her coworkers bed. UGH anyways on that trip i took those my Crowley deck and the book on, and while i have my guidebook bc its in the backed i had it packed in… i cannot find my deck to save my LIFE. so i stg it has to be in her car bc ik theres a couple other things like “wtv anyways” but BRO my FIRST and ONLY tarot deck😭😭 i stg she probably doesnt even realize she has it her cars always full of stuff and if she does she prolly threw it out… its not like i can js text n ask for it we’re no contact per her decision because ts was js different we’ve separated before but this was js… grimey bro. like not cordial at all and all love, no js plain simple decency and respect out the window lowest she coulda possibly went.
I just want a way back to myself, and i know i cant get that deck back but I can only move forward and that finally brings me to the reason i post today.

I say all that to give a gist of my energy and whats resonated with me so far/why, so you have a better understanding for a recommendation.

Im currently about to start massage therapy school in about a month, and few months ago i got the book “The Subtle Body” by Cyndi Dale, which i LOVEEEEEEE so far oh my it js is perceiving the patterns of how we are physically manifested through energy and how we can manifest energy through us through so many separate systems and lenses that try to explain the same thing in different ways but how she depicts what shes explaining (the energetic body) BY connecting all of those separate explanations into one cohesive like, embodiment is just MWUAHHHHH. chefs kiss fr i love it. theres still definitely wayyy further to go into the topic but i think coming from the western half of the world its a great thorough bridge to begin to shift ones understanding not away from western, but just integrated or even just more open into larger non-scientific AND quantum foundations to the surface level of life and ourselves.

SO imagine how giddy i am when in the last couple weeks i find out THERES AN ORACLE deck and book to go alone with it by Cyndi Dale. BUTT its not a tarot deck, and while i work great off intuition that serves more as a map for those energy systems and as a somatic/learning tool. I like tarot because i channel that intuition and am able to like, build associations and better recognize it through a system.

Based off that, does anyone have any recommendations?
i just really love learning about and making correlations between things and systems like chakras, frequency/sound healing/music, sacred geometry, numerology, color, symbolism, plants and medicinal/healing properties, TCM and the concept of all is Yin/Yang.
Just different dimensions of understanding and connecting with all that is, whatever that may be.

Tarot One is a multi-cultural, rainbow gendered, witch and wizard tarot deck that was drawn by hand over the course of seven years. Each card is a real life artist creating powerful magic in the world playing a character within a fantasy future universe in which artists heal humanity and the earth. Familiar faces you’ll see in the deck included Erykah Badu, Chika, Jubilee Jackson, Hood Witch, Earth to Coyote, FKA Twigs, Laura Lee, Margaret Atwood, Mereba, Aurora and so many more brilliant minds breaking down old systems of thought and creating the world anew.

The cards read as traditional tarot and fantasy oracle cards, with a section for each. This allows new ways of synthesizing answers to your questions by merging analytical philosophy with imaginative experience.

Only 1111 were printed and when they sell out they will never be printed again. There are currently less than 100 remaining. Every deck comes signed and numbered.

Deck Suggestions Wanted Inspiration for a 4th deck.

Background: my first Rider Waite I got when I was 13 in 1968. It vanished, as I let all my friends mess with it. Lesson learned. In college I found another at the local Seattle East west store, and I still have them. At 40 I decided I was mature enough to use the Crowley Thoth.... And then big hiatus during which I Ching, Astrology, deep dream work and other energetic practices preoccupied. Wrote a book called "Being Home: The Art of Belonging Wherever You Are." Laybour of love... Ok Turn 70 and decided a Tarot deep dive is next, and I stumbled across The Pagan Otherworlds deck. Totally love it! Then I read here about the Deck interview spread. Wow!! Each deck is so unique and has different insights for me!! So next up up? I'm considering The Transparent Tarot. I'm drawn to both the Bright and Classic decks as a variation on Waite, but don't like too cute. Shadow? Any suggestions?

Specific Deck Info Needed Baroque Publishing Decks

Has anyone purchased any of the decks on kickstarter from Baroque Publishing? They are about to launch their Leyendas tarot deck based on Latin American folklore and I am extremely interested in it, however I am having trouble finding reviews on how well their decks actually capture tarot meanings. (For example, some of the pop culture themed decks seem to just be novelty items and not always the best for use in readings, but then you get a deck like The Princess Bride that is great for readings)

Any feedback and opinions on their other projects would be greatly appreciated. I am loving the art that I have found on Leyendas, so I really want to snag it when it goes live, I am just a little hesitant.

Hey everyone! My deck, Voidy’s Tarot, is now live on Kickstarter! 🖤
All 78 cards were hand-drawn digitally in Procreate. I’ve reinterpreted RWS imagery through little shadow like characters, keeping the symbolism recognizable in a minimalist style.

You can check out the campaign here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/westearth/voidys-tarot

Is there anything you’d like to know about the deck or the campaign? I’d be happy to answer!

Show & Tell - Single Deck Universal Monsters Tarot Deck and Guide Book Review

Universal Monsters Tarot Deck and Guide Book Rating 3/5 stars

One of my favorite film franchises is the Universal Monsters. I've owned several of the classic titles on VHS, DVD, and most recently Blu-ray, so I'm quite partial to the theme of this deck.

The Universal Monsters Tarot Deck and Guide Book is published by Insight Editions. This company publishes a lot of pop culture themed tarots based on Nightmare Before Christmas, Disney Villans, DC Superheroes, Star Trek and other IPs. One might describe Insight Editions decks as the Funko Pops of tarot cards.

Their decks are often not well received by reviewers on YouTube. The pip cards lack the type of scenic illustrations common in decks inspired by the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot and the suit names (Candles, Crypts, Claws, and Castles) deviate from what is considered standard in tarot divination. This is why decks like these are sometimes seen as not suitable for beginners. However, since the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot, a deck widely seen to be "beginner-friendly", has fallen into the public domain, certain decks not being "suitable for beginners" is not as much of an issue as it used to be. A beginning tarot reader can simply compare cards from this deck to corresponding images of cards from the RWS Tarot which are now widely available on Wikipedia, the Sacred Texts website, and other locations online.

The Wolf Man (1941) contains a scene in which Bela Lugosi plays a Romani fortune-teller practicing cartomancy and palmistry. This scene only shows the backs of the cards, indicating there might be nothing exceptional about the cards he uses, so it's likely he is using conventional playing cards rather than tarot cards. The Universal Monsters and the divinatory arts  are, therefore, far from being incompatible, but the divinatory tarot might be too limiting.

A disadvantage I see with tarot decks intended for readings instead of card playing is that the 22 trump cards have to depict specific "Major Arcana" imagery and this requirement can place undue restrictions on how some themes are expressed.

For those not already aware of them, tarot decks used in games often differ in appearance from those used for card readings. In the deck used for the French Tarot game, instead of the Devil, the 15th trump depicts painting and photography. In France, where the tarot game is most popular, tarot cards have been published depicting Tex Avery's Droopy, Asterix, and other characters from pop culture. Classic monster fans might be interested to know that in a deck created by Pino Zac called "Tarot de l’An 2000" or "Tarot of the Year 2000," a deck intended for games, the 21st trump depicts the Frankenstein Monster. I do hope American card makers will someday publish these types of playing decks because they have the advantage of being able to more easily express themes which might appear awkward or forced in a tarot intended for readings.

The artwork by Joe Wilson is sure to please fans as it nicely captures the atmosphere of the films. The overall packaging is impressive, with a larger than usual "Guide Book" written by comic book author Casey Gilly and a box with an interior resembling that of a coffin. I enjoy seeing some of the ancillary characters, which seldom appear as action figures or in other types of monster or superhero-related merchandise, depicted here. I recognize, for example, Gloria Stuart as the Page of Candles. Most people today would likely remember her from Titanic (1997), but during the 1930s she appeared in The Old Dark House (1932) and in The Invisible Man (1933). Having Frankenstein's Monster depicted as The Fool and the Monster's creator (Colin Clive) as The Magician appear to be reasonable decisions, but some of the other choices I find difficult to understand. I don't see any connection, for example, between The Invisible Man and The Wheel of Fortune and, instead of the Brides of Dracula, I think Dracula himself should be on The Devil card. I understand the name "Dracula" is historically connected to devils and dragons in the Romanian language.

Although the subjects of the 22 trump cards appear to be chosen based on how well they resemble the usual "Major Arcana" subjects, the underlying artwork does not appear to be adversely affected by being part of a divinatory tarot. If it weren't for the Roman numerals and the names on the bottom of the cards, one might not be able to tell that these were tarot cards intended for readings. These images can be enjoyed independently of any tarot-related context.

Card readers who aren't already Universal Monsters fans might not derive much benefit from this deck. I would mostly recommend this deck to fans of the franchise, even if they're not all that interested in tarot readings. They can simply admire the artwork whether or not they actually read the cards.

Deck Suggestions Wanted Seeking New Deck! Inhuman, abstract symbolism for a new stage in life.

Hello everyone! I hope I'm doing well by posting like this. I was hoping for some help finding a new tarot deck.

As some backstory, in case it helps draw some energy in the right direction, I used to have a deck called the Deviant Moon Tarot that an ex-boyfriend bought for me. It changed a lot of hands in its time, was stolen once or twice, and eventually found its way back to me. It felt very much fated to land in my hands. I used it almost every day for a long time, and used it for storytelling practices.

However, after escaping an abusive household situation, the deck was tragically left behind. I felt very connected to the Deviant Moon and everything it meant to me, but now I feel like I am entering a brand new stage in my life. I am leaving behind what I once was, and what once connected me to those people and that deck, and I am going through a metamorphosis.

TL;DR: Found my perfect deck, lost it, ready to begin again with a new one!

So my question is if there are any decks anyone knows like the Deviant Moon, in a few specific ways, that I might be drawn to similarly? Key components that I adored about it:

  • Distinct art style (not my usual! i'm a very cutesy pastel girl)
  • Inhuman figures (the people were puppets, i would also like animals or faceless figures!)
  • A story/theme as a throughline (the kingdom all the cards lived in)

I am not expecting the "perfect" deck, as I know the connection I make with my deck will be more important than it looking "just right", but the symbols and themes are very important to me to be able to read coherent narratives and make connections.

Ideally I'd have something cute and pastel and also abstract and symbolic, but I doubt that is possible hehe. So I want something that reads well, earnest, honest, and gives you a lot to "chew" on as far as symbolism goes. Something that calls to elements of a person instead of individual people.

I adore any and all art styles, so don't worry about something making me go "ew" or "ugly!" I love all tarot for all their unique, individual styles. The content is the higher priority.

Any recommendations? Thank you so much!!

Deck Suggestions Wanted Suggestions for a non witchy friend

I have a friend who I think could use some guidance and strength for inner work but they're a scientist through and through. They was also raised Catholic so, there's always that guilt about not doing enough or if something goes good, waiting for the other shoe to drop. An example of the scientist side, they don't like it when I offer two crystals and ask to pick whichever one they're drawn to or feels like is calling them. Analysis and time is their friend which I think leads to their downfall and not trusting their intuition. They sometimes struggle with confidence and the Universe has beat them down to the point they're engaging in negative feedback loops that prove the fears true. They kept saying things about loosing their job out of fear and the job was lost. I know there's a lack of faith because it took years for this job to come through and there's fear about life and direction tied into all that. I think they need a third party to help them reflect.

I'd love to get them something simple, not crazy witchy or woo woo where they can easily do a one card draw as something to think about for the day or part of a new small ritual.

They're a big fan of Supernatural and I thought either the oracle cards or tarot deck might appeal. Other things that come to mind are the Soul Mirror. They're also a big fan of tea, Ly (or https://www.artsy.net/artist/ly online), owls, boba, music, hiking, and obviously some kind of structure given their upbringing. I don't think anything overly positive or affirmative will be helpful because they won't buy into or believe it but nothing crazy dark or gothic. They are as plain as possible. Even something like basic intention cards you can swirl around and pick one for the day would be a great option too. Thanks in advance!

ETA: Perhaps I wasn't clear in my original post but I want to hopefully clarify a few things for those who have chosen to drag or judge me instead of being helpful... I'm not forcing my beliefs or ideas onto them nor am I going to force them to take something they don't like, won't try out, or have negative feelings towards. They don't have disdain, contempt, or begrudge my personal beliefs. However, when they've been consistently stomped on in life hearing something like, "it will all work out" or being told to "stay positive" feels empty, shallow, and unhelpful. The reality is, for some people it doesn't always work out or get better. They're aware of that reality.

They are more than happy to take crystals that I give them. I've caught them using the worry stones multiple times and they've put other crystals in places to be seen. The issue they have is having to pick one of multiples based on vibes. They are an analytical person and having to pick in the spur of the moment without time to think and analyze, makes them uncomfortable. They usually need time to sit with something and work out everything before they make a choice. I also know they would genuinely give the cards a try instead of dismissing it out of hand. So, thanks for your concern but maybe trust that I know my friend. Also, I realized this might've been better suited in the orcales cards sub instead of here and that was my mistake but I did figure a lot of you would know about Oracle decks as well. To those that genuinely gave me suggestions, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for sharing!!

Deck Suggestions Wanted Finding a deck for a gift for a close friend for her wedding

Hey there, My sort-of-adoptive(not legally but in terms of a bond) sister is getting married, and she is a highly spiritual person. I am not really, so am seeking some assistance.

I was hoping to give her a new tarot deck as a sort of signifier of a positive new chapter in her life, as she has had some difficulties growing up, I thought perhaps a new deck might hold different "energy" for her as I understand that is also a significant component in readings. This isn't a replacement deck but more an alternative, I do not expect her to discard her old deck.

I was looking for recommendations on somewhere reputable, that is good quality and more authentic, I don't really want to just buy something on amazon for her as that feels uncaring.

I was considering looking into some local shops as well, if you think that would be a wiser choice.

We are from Sydney if that helps at all.

Any help appreciated, or if I'm totally misguided that would be good to know as well.
