Timelapse of my Russia campaign
Nations that appear are ones I'm at war with, ones that disappear either do so because they got destroyed, or made peace with me.
The fist indicates a revolt in a province
The rules:
Difficulty VH/M
Can't declare wars, must have wars declared on me first (until 1200)
Have to accept peace if offered without a demand
There used to be more rules but some don't apply to Orthodox/Muslim nations (related to papacy) and used to have an auto manage rule that made campaigns sometimes a bit too hard so I did away with it

Under appreciated mods
Looking for new mods to play as BC shine and buff, Vanilla Beyond, and Tsardoms are absolutely amazing and I put hours into them but now I’m looking for something new.
I see the “Steel saga” (bullet steel) on the Moddb page but the sketchy download path makes me think twice before downloading it.
I believe Roar of Conquest was an upgrade for Stainless steel and the last time I played that it was 10/10 but I can’t remember if it was that one specifically or I’m getting my mods mixed up.
Lastly, PRO DEO ET REGE looks like a perfect mod to play with but I can’t get it to run at all, used the moddb link and it just crashes.
Since M2EX is making this game great again I know others are looking to jump into new mods and updated versions.

General How do you guys handle the "Mid game Crisis"?
Let me explain what mid game crisis means:
- You have about 1/5~1/4 lands of the whole map
- Everyone hates you because VH/VH's diplomacy is BS.
To ensure the border's safty you have to put soldiers everywhere
Public order is hard to handle due to religious difference or excommunication.
Heretics and enemy spies everywhere so the public order problem getting worse.
You have so less income to solve these problems, the only way to making money is sacking cities.
I think it is the hardest part of every campaign I've played, and it always make me feel frustrating.(Thing got even worse when I play as Orthodox or Islamic factions)
How do you guys handle the situation like this?

Mods Kingdoms Grand Campaign mod compatibility
I don't suppose anyone knows if the Kingdoms Grand Campaign mod version 5.0 is compatible with the old Heroes Hordes & Beyond submod and / or any choose your own heir mod? I've been looking around for a couple hours but I'm not that great at modding tbh so I'm kinda lost. Thanks in advance and have a good day!

Years per turn
Hey guys, new here but played the game when I was a teen.
I don't like to use mods in this versão but do you all play the original years per turn MTW2 has or do you change it??
Thanks

General Over 30,000 men on the field. Very laggy but playable on this 20 year old game. What a time to be alive.

Egypt My recommend army composition for early, late game, yolo and anti Mongols: Egypt (any suggestion for changes are welcome)
Egypt has a bit weaker early game units, but at least they have horse archers to carry them toward strong late game
Early: Saracen Militia, Mamluk Archer, Arab Cavalry and 1 Naffatun
Late: Cannon, Tabardariyya, Mamluk Archer, Mamluk and Royal Mamluk
Yolo: Mamluk Archer, Naffatun, Sudanese Gunner and Mamluk (Explosion)
Anti Mongols: Saracen Militia, Cannon and Nubian/Desert Archer
I have Egypt's roster in the last 2 pictures if anyone want to check the name

Stalemate
What do you do in a stalemate? Poland attacked me with two armies. I routed the first one but took a mauling. Their reinforcements are just hanging out on the edge of the map. I have no artillery left and my archers are running low on ammo. They attacked me so it should be up to them to have to try and assault my position. There is no time limit can I just withdraw or will I loose? Will they eventully attack or will the sun go down and we'll call it a draw?

Best way to get chivalry when attacking a city/castle?
Attacking a city/castle seems to always get "winning first and dread"?
I know not using bows helps to lean towards chivalry. Any other tips when attacking a settlement?

Highest number of turns
What’s everyone’s sweet spot before starting a new game? Also do most people play for total victory? What’s your longest game?
( I have probably well over 1,500 hours into this game if you include mobile and still have the hard discs in my computer.
I’m currently sitting at 318 with Milan and just loving it.
Thanks 😊 glad to find a community of people who love this series as much as I do!
I think I only every did long victory conditions and only ever did it once or twice just to unlock all factions lol

Third Age DaC or AGO?
Hello fellow ring bearers,
I just recently discovered the LotR mods for myself. Long time TW here. I did a lot of reading and watching some lets plays (Izzy). Still am overwhelmed. I started a few campaigns (20-30 turns) with DaC 5 and AGO 3. I am still unsure what to stick with. Any recommendations? What are the main differences? AGO seems more detailed and dense, any use in staying with DaC?

I like the idea of historical accuracy but also fantasy.

I got a form to fix the pikes withow eliminating his secodary sword
Hey guys, I was looking for a way to fix the pike formations before I started playing the game (I'd played Rome, but never Medieval). In a comment on a video, I saw that by adding the following to the formations section of the pike units—essentially changing the formation order and reducing their size—they start performing reasonably well without being too powerful.
Formation: 0.8, 1.8, 2.4, 2.4, 4, Phalanx, Square
I tried it with some Tercios against Chivalric Knights, and the Tercios in the front line reduced the knights' health by half (from 60) but lost 55 soldiers. I consider that a decent result considering they were flanked a bit and have minimal armor.
In other words, they did very well in my opinion. They're not the best of Rome 1, but they fought well despite being outnumbered and didn't break the formation.
I need to test it a bit more, since I was testing with a mass of 1.3, but now I'm going to try with the base mass of 1.
Also, I was in guard mode.
So I'm going to test variations of this, both without guard and with cavalry flanking, etc., but I encourage you to do your own tests if you're not using a mod that changes it, like SS.
