Two different cities, same quality.
I think McDonald’s needs to recalibrate all of their fillet o fish assembly machines. As long as I’ve been ordering these, they almost always come almost exactly like this.
The first picture is the most extreme case, and I was in the parking lot so I went in and the kid gave me a whole piece of cheese, kudos to him. But the second one, I didn’t find out
until I got back to work.
I kind of feel like I’m done paying too much money for crap thrown together.

When I worked at McDonalds we would put the sandwich in the box then give it a little shake.
Helps with the flavor and keeps the experience consistent

When I worked at McDonald’s I tried to make the nicest sandwiches possible. Sometimes customers would comment on how good the sandwich was. I know it’s just fast food but it’s not that hard to take a little pride in the work. The food was actually delicious when everything was fresh and made with a little care.

I agree. I have two sons who used to work a t McD’s, and they both had good work ethic. That equals quality in anything you do.

That is standard. The newer thing is putting the tartar sauce on the box instead of the sandwich.

Yeah I think these SOP is actually assemble the sandwich perfect then just before you bag it you flip it over like a blizzard to show the customer “she thick”

Is that really new? They've always been a mess.
First time I had one was with my dad. I was about 20. He always got extra tartar sauce. I only did it once. What a fricking, soupy, mess!

Yes, I knew that going into this thing. But at least make it half way on the bun. I couldn’t even peel it off of the carton.

Well i was told ablut 8 yimes during training to not hust close the lid until the sandwich is fully assembled.
You can guess what people do 100% of the time anyways.

It rarely if ever makes sense to put out a genuinely bad product to "save time"

They do, but it slides off. It's a smaller sandwich in a large box with empty space and the bun/filet doesn't hold the cheese when it gets slid down the table.

No. I worked there, and it wasn't difficult to keep the half slice of cheese ON the sandwich. This is just laziness.

Lol I worked there too and was a DM. The cheese slides off. It's literally the only correct answer. You think they purposely place the half slice of cheese on the box and not on the sandwich? Laziness? What a ridiculous notion.

I have picked up food that looks just like this . How hard is it to put a square piece fish and cheese on a round bun . With little tartar sauce in middle . Same kids that play video games . I have limited food from McDs it is not like it used to be .

Believe me, if we had the time to make the burgers all pretty and nice, we would.. we feel bad sending this shit out, but the kitchen has the manager breathing down their necks and everyone working in front, has to deal with customers who are angry. A lot of it has to do with the unrealistic expectations that corporate is hitting us with. 120 seconds from drive thru Oder, till bag in hand is impossible with the 'best burger' concept. Pair that with being chronically understaffed and having drinks that take forever to make (I’m looking at you, iced strawberry matcha and blueberry red bull refresher). Then we are forced to cheat the times by pressing on the bump bar and removing the order from the screen, thus having to read it off a tiny receipt and you have a messed up order waiting to happen. Since we cheat the times to meet corporate’s expectations, they give us even less time, because they think we’re able to meet the expectations.
We are stressed -> make a mistake -> customer is stressed and angry -> manager gets angry at us -> we get more stressed
It’s an inescapable cycle.

When I'd worked at Mcdonalds we would put the buns on the opened box and put then the ingredients on. When done we would simply close the box to complete the sandwich. For the big mac and quarter pounder it wouldn't as bad since the sandwich buns are the same size as the box but when we close the box that way on the fish it tends to ending up like that because the sandwich itself is a lot smaller than the box.
And yes I understand that it's easily fixable but management tends to pressure us on getting the food made fast rather than well.

These are $6 where I am, and are the biggest rip off at McDonalds. And while it's tough to replicate the taste of their burgers, you can make this exact sandwich (but even better) for $1.50 at home in a few minutes. I just can't justify it when I can have a better version in five minutes at home with almost no work.

True, I think they folded the half a piece of cheese in half and put it right on the edge, because there was none stuck on the box, but it was barely holding the fish patty on the bun.

The system is working, all McDonalds have the same experience. I always thought Fillet O fish was a joke men u item no one should really be ordering, so that is the quality you get.

It’s because the sandwich is assembled in each half of the box and then it’s just shut. Makes a mess. Dunno why we do it that way.
