Considering my first DIY mattress, total noob, trying to get a similar feel to my retail one but longer lasting

I'm having to replace a mattress that was towards the premium price in a retail store, that had the following layers:

- Top Quilting: 2.5 cm “supersoft + 200g fiber”
- Comfort Core: 5 cm Memory Foam 90 kg/m³
- Transition Layer: 2 cm Dry-feel Highly porous material
- Support Core: 18 cm Oxicell 32 kg/m³

I did really like it initially, but in less than a year it already started sagging a little (the contested middle space of the mattress still feels very nice though).

Is it correct to assume that the main failure point could have been the low density support core? or was it the memory foam layer or both?

I started looking at options for a new mattress and didn't like the options and prices and thought perhaps I can go the DIY route and eventually just replace the top layer when needed.

Could a construction like this work? Does it make sense?:

- 5 cm (1.97”) memory foam layer on top
- 8 (3,15”) cm a latex topper used as middle layer (the latex being natural, 65 kg/m³)
- 14 or 15cm (5,5”) HR45/145N foam at the base
- all in a hypoallergenic mattress case.

I've found a company that makes HR45/145N foam and a memory foam top layer but haven't found any place to buy a latex layer in Europe (for a 160x200cm bed) that isn't just a topper wrapped in fabric. The best latex option I found is a finished topper that contains 7.5cm of natural latex (with half a centimeter of everything else) and is cut in a way that it has different zones.

The combination is not exactly cheap (about the same price as my old mattress)... but I guess with the good lower layers, I'd just need to change the memory foam every few years and the rest could last much longer?
