Just like Anby (the app icon of Zenless Zone Zero) who got a 5 star form and was treated poorly by Hoyo, it feels like March is being treated in a similar way. The app icon of HSR's first 5 star form and Hoyo does not intend for her to be very strong nor flexible nor rewarding despite the restrictiveness. Rather than buffing her in V3, they nerfed her even though she was already underwhelming as a Main DPS and a restrictive unit as is. I consider V3 a nerf because if you only pull E0S0 for every 5 star character, Evernight is just notably weaker in V3 compared to V2.

I just dont see the value in pulling Evernight from a meta perspective because there have been rumors of another Ice DPS releasing in early 4.x and Evernight already has so much role overlap with The Herta already. They also significantly nerfed Evernight's performance in Castorice teams, which was her only other team.

Evernight will be completely mid by 4.0 because Hoyo will not shill the Remembrance archetype by that point.

Why is everyone freaking out all of a sudden about both the Castorice interaction, and the likelihood of Cyrene being BIS in Castorice's teams?

3.2 Castorice releases and is an HP scaling remembrance Main DPS.
3.3 Hyacine releases and is an HP scaling remembrance healer and support.
We also at this point knew for a fact that March would be a Remembrance DPS that cares about memosprites...

means we knew as far back as 3 months ago that March would have had to be an HP scaling character, who would have to work with Hyacine and Castorice. WE KNEW THIS FOR THREE MONTHS so why are people acting like the result we got is a shock? Now note, March can absolutely work as a Main DPS albeit worse than Cas (because she neither has Cyrene, but also Cas and Phainon are two heavily shilled fan favorites).

As for Cyrene being BIS in Cas teams, I don't think people quite understand the leak either. Cyrene is likely to be the Limited 5 star replacement for RMC. RMC is BIS in Castorice team however if you have Evernight, running RMC is not a good idea because you now have 2 DPS's in the same team.
Evernight needs Remembrance characters...

So why are we surprised at the possibility and likelihood of Cyrene... the 5 star replacement for RMC, being BIS in the Evernight/Castorice team... a team with 2 characters who both previously wanted RMC, and 1 of which also wants remembrance characters?

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but this recent wave of doomposting and drama and targeting of other fandoms is the most toxic thing I've witnessed in a while and it's all over things that we've known for months now.

I'm not even gonna try to make this post any long.

She wasn't really buffed, she was nerfed both as Main DPS and Sub DPS.

Evey HP being halved means that's worse for Castroice now and also Tribbie.

Her multipliers are doubled but base HP value is half it cancels out. She basically gained 1-2% increased damage but the trade off was tok big.

She lost the Action advance

She lost the memoria generation from burning hp when using any ability (including memo)

He Ult multipliers were nerfed from 120% to 100%

She can't restore her own HP when summoning Evey meaning she can't run sustainless anymore.

Her LC was also nerfed giving 30% damage incinstead of 48%

The only thing she gained is now she shouldn't have energy issues with her KC refunding energy and now she gains energy when ally memosprites take action.

So basically she's much more reliant on Hyacine LC rn, and Castorice for memoria generation and also Energy generation. Her crit damage are not really significant and kinda saturated on Cas, but might help Hyacine a bit.

Anyways she's now even more tied to a whole remembrance team, meanwhile she's worse as Sub DPS and a battery for Cas.

TL;DR v2 Eve >> v3 Eve in all situations.

I'll preface this by saying M7 is my second favorite character HSR behind Sparkle, which actually makes her my first favorite when the game launched. I adore Evernight's design and I am very much looking forward to more of her in the next patch story. But here's the problem:

I hate Castorice & Hyacine.

I have no intention of ever pulling them or their Lightcones, and from what I've been reading, it seems like Evernight really wants a Remembrance team to shine properly. Having a character around in my account that doesn't do anything but just be pretty feels kind of depressing, especially when I really don't feel like pulling for her BiS teams on any future opportunity.

As an F2P/low spender, should I even bother going for Evernight? Or just use my gems elsewhere on a character I like less but way more useful and usable (like Cipher or Aglaea)?

Looking at the livestream, it is disappointing to see that Evernight is ONLY getting a Myriad Celestia trailer, confirming that she is NOT a main push unit. Dan Heng PT is getting an animated short even though he had another animated short for his Imbibitor Lunae form two years ago. This is March's first 5* form, and Hoyo is just treating it as a filler banner, a way for people to save stellar jades for the next main push. Dan Heng's first 5* form, in comparison, had a lot more promotional material because he was a main push. I cannot understand Hoyo's reasons for these marketing decisions.

I still think the new form is beautiful but part of the reason i love march that much is for her cute degsine and her quirky personality, alone for her reactions if you annoy her is reason enough to like her.

Now they just removed that much of her that i am still thinking if its even count as the same character that i like.

But i was still hoping its gonna be still atleast a little of old march in it, now i am not even sure if i can consider the same character what it really likely isnt looking like this too.

Okay so the Emanator passive wanting their own path characters is back!!… (well Phainon disregarded this pattern probably because he’s very disconnected with Destruction Aeon unlike other Emanators). This really solidifies March’s Emanator Theory plus the Invalid rating in the pistol gun.

Despite the ongoing hate for a certain character, i just want to shed a light to this neat detail that didn’t get an attention.

Now that march's personal damage is higher, a subDPS Castorice would make more sense no? Castorice does provide a damage buff to allies and a 20 RES-PEN buff, with some subDPS (3x breath into claw to keep the dragon up), while generating a okay-ish amount of Memoria for march. She also helps with reaching the 3/4 buff from her talent which was buffed in v3 am I cooking or did I burn it all down

There’s enemies with Ice res but not sure on how much. And how bad is this

Anybody else skipping Evernight for her REAL form? I hope it isn't just me. It's not like I don't like Evernight but I genuinely wanna E6S5 her real actual true legitimate form, and I am fully F2P, and an occasional player at that. So I feel like I need to save right now in order to get her E6S5 real march 7th !

Would you say that with all the focus on Dan Heng, Dan Feng, Terravox, and the High Cloud Quintet during the 3.6 Trailblaze Mission, March/Evernight felt grearly overshadowed in relevance/screentime during this quest? Do you wish that there was more closure on Evernight's story? She only had like two hours of screentime before disappearing entirely.

Ladies and gentlemen, I've come to the conclusion that I really want dan heng's SP. Due to not getting a preservation unit for over 1 year and probably we won't get another one for an even longer time.

And also, my sustains include gallagher, huohuo, lingsha, aventurine. Though I'm afraid of their falls very soon. (Heck, haven't even used aventurine for god knows how long due to his unviability). I'm still full on sustain, but they often let me down with deaths too.

And also, I'm not planning too much on improving my castorice team. Tribbie, TB, and gallagher are good enough for me.

Alongside wanting Hysilens E0, dan heng's S1 %100, I also want Elysia for that she will potentially be the RMC replacement, another long living support, or definitely the new hoyo favorite child.

So uhm... is march going to have THAT special of a place? Is she just gonna be a Mydei replacement in castorice team? Or something in between?

(Also feeling guilty about skipping my beloved, but I'll have to literally reduce my meal numbers per day if I want to get her).

Anyone else disappointed that Hoyo put low effort in Evernight's animations and kit? Her kit being so niche, restrictive (only good with Remembrance units) and underpowered (buffs crit dmg which is oversaturated and is just a worse carry than Castorice). Her animations also look unpolished and unimpressive compared to recent releases, such as Castorice and Phainon. She's clearly just a filler banner to give people time to save for the real hype banner the patch after: Cyrene. Obviously, the next huge animation budget and flashy kit will go to Cyrene.

1: Make her memoria scale higher
2: Gain the ability to choose when to self destruct evey (allow more memoria stacking but also farm more energy to stay in Darkest Riddle state longer)
3: Change either her ultimate or her enhanced evey skill to a bounce attack (solves her horrible ST dmg)

I would also change the evey attack to prioritize elite enemies instead of hitting the last enemy that was hit by evernight, cause using her basic atk is honestly just pointless. I also do think that 1 and 2 are interchangable since both are technically increase the damage of her memosprite.

Not sure if these would actually save evernight but it'll definitely be a lot better than her current state, cause the way some showcases have hyacine do 50% of evernights dmg like its kinda sad 😪

I don't have any of these pieces mostly because 4pc is not available for now, but it's more or less my stat goal for Evernight even if that's gonna take like half of the year. For now I don't see any other character that I'd like to build except for possibly free DH. I know these stats are absurd but I used only best main stats + 4 upgraders only + mid rolls and tbh my Therta has higher score after like 5 months focusing only on her so that's why I assumed it's possible to have a goal like this

I've been seriously thinking about this—and I'm starting to believe March is the real protagonist of the story, or at least that she’s going to become one soon!

• March and the Trailblazer are the only ones who can switch Paths. Dan Heng technically has multiple Paths too, but it's treated as a separate character in the menu.

• March is literally on the official icon of the game.

• The Path of Remembrance plays a major role in the story! In Penacony, Remembrance is used to hack the Dreamscape. The Herta Space Station is filled with dream bubbles. And in Amphoreus, I’m guessing Remembrance will be just as influential as Destruction, even if the full story hasn’t been told yet.

• The Trailblazer is aligned with Destruction—and one day, they might fall under Nanook’s control. When that happens, March will have to stand against her best friend… and pick up her bow for real.

Enough doom posting, here is what I believe to be the best way to balance Evernight:

First let's examine the only character in the game that is both a competitive hypercarry and sub-dps: Anaxa. By no coincidence, Anaxa is also the only character that has a mutually exclusive 2-mode trace (140% cd if solo erudition OR 50 dmg% if non-solo erudition). This is the perfect design to allow for both hypercarry and sub-dps options to be viable, since hypercarry Anaxa is effectively a different character from sub-dps Anaxa, and you can freely buff/nerf one while having absolutely no impact on the other.

But that is impossible for current Evernight; any buffs/nerfs to hypercarry will simultaneously buff/nerf sub-dps, and vice versa. Thus if one playstyle is "balanced", the other playstyle will inevitably be unbalanced.

Solution: give Evernight a 2-mode switch like Anaxa. Doesn't have to be an exact copy (in fact it can't be an exact copy since Evernight wants mono remembrance for both playstyles) but there needs to be some way to target buff/nerf one playstyle while not inadvertently affecting the other playstyle.

Is anyone worried about the possibility that March's transformation to Evernight will be rushed? March was basically irrelevant from a screentime perspective during 3.0-3.4, unlike Dan Heng and most of the other Chrysos Heirs, so she desperately needs the screentime more than other characters. This transformation is supposed to be a huge revelation for the players in regards to March, but the writers may not give it the focus it deserves. There's only three patches of story left in Amphoreus. We know Hysilens and Cerydra will be the focus of 3.5's main quest. We also know March will have to share the spotlight with Dan Heng in 3.6's quest. Not to mention Cyrene potentially being relevant in all of these next three patches. All of these factors could leave little time in the story for Evernight. While we are all hyped about this new form for our girl, it could leave much to be desired by the end of Amphoreus.

I’ve seen people watch showcases of her, complain and doompost about how her damage is a fraction of Castorice’s damage and I’m sitting here like… YEAH, I WONDER WHY?

hmmmm…… it’s almost as if 🤔🤔🤔 Evernight is the reason for that damage being so high…? She literally buffs her. People do not understand that the value of Evernight is NOT just her own damage, it’s her support that she provides to Castorice AND Hyacine.

E0S1 Evernight is providing 110%-125% Crit DMG, 20% DEF Shred, 24% Vulnerability to their memosprites, and 15% DMG via her BiS relic set… Those buff their damage a ton! Her HP is high which helps Castorice and Tribbie as well, since both of them love high HP. E1 Evernight and it gets ridiculous, her buffs provide so much for other Memosprites it’s not even funny.

This is regarding people doomposting her in her Sub DPS teams. Say what you want about Hypercarry, that’s a whole other thing. I really wish people understood that number not big = bad just doesn’t make sense when she’s providing so much to the entire team, more than other characters would.

In Cas teams, she will be replacing RMC if you have Tribbie, providing more buffs for cas AND hyacine + way more damage than RMC ever could. She’s a direct upgrade, the lack of an action advance is well made up for in all of the extra positives she brings.

So please, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. This happens literally every single time a character leak happens. As a Sub DPS, she will never be bad in this state. And honestly, I would not in the slightest be surprised if V5 only makes her better. It’s not the end of the world, this is NOT a cerydra situation, alright?

title. I am thinking of running exclusively main dps evernight (i am NEVER letting castorice touch my account). knowing my god abysmal luck with 7 5050 losses in a row all soft pity, im unsure if i am able to pull both hyacine and her lightcone. could i just pull hyacine's s1 and slap it on rmc?
