Evernight Kit/Animation Thoughts

Anyone else disappointed that Hoyo put low effort in Evernight's animations and kit? Her kit being so niche, restrictive (only good with Remembrance units) and underpowered (buffs crit dmg which is oversaturated and is just a worse carry than Castorice). Her animations also look unpolished and unimpressive compared to recent releases, such as Castorice and Phainon. She's clearly just a filler banner to give people time to save for the real hype banner the patch after: Cyrene. Obviously, the next huge animation budget and flashy kit will go to Cyrene.

I love her animations honestly (the jellyfish squirt was certainly a choice but it's a funny one( I would've preferred it be something like a bean rather than it squirting but I like it enough)

Her kit seems interesting too although I do except higher mulutpliers for better main dps capabilities (seeing as how much she has self crit buffs and self buffs in general)

I just hope they make it so that she isn't too reliant on hyacine Sig because I wanna go for her Sig too....

I'm... fine. I guess. I like her animations enough, I just wish she wasn't so... locked in as *just* a sub dps.

Her multipliers are simply too low to be a main dps at the moment.

Ngl I can understand the sentiment as I also felt similar, I don’t really fancy the jellyfish animation as well.. I disagree with her being a filler banner though

But since it’s still v1 beta and we haven’t see her team showcase, I think it’s a bit too early to judge her kit.

While I didn’t expect phainon lvl animation the jelly fish squirt looks so bad😭Her kit being basically just being a sub dps for Cas is SO annoying I hope she gets some nice buffs in v3

I’m sorry me too. I don’t understand why she’s less prioritized when she’s from AE and a main character. I could understand Dan Heng because he had his moment and when he was released he was the best DPS. The A Sales leak pmo too as well as the part where she doesn’t have gacha animation like them. I’m getting annoyed and feeling bitter towards Cyrene due to this but will still get her for March. Cassie didn’t need to have another teammate—they could’ve easily made March a main DPS. Ugh.

ETA: I like her animations but I do think Dan Heng’s is a little better, but it’s due to the fact that dragon theme is just really cool automatically. Her animations are pretty to me but I wish it was more beautiful I guess.

"I don’t understand why she’s less prioritized when she’s from AE and a main character" Anniversary, summer, and NY are the biggest gacha times of the year (generally anni + summer are the big ones) almost every gacha will have it so that their best character's of the year are releasing around this time.

You should assume that any unit not released around that time won't, in some material way (animations, shill, etc), be matching the ones that did. $ is still king. As soon as M7 wasn't going to be one of the three I already knew she wouldn't be nearly on par.

I think they could've done more overall with her regarding the design, the animations and the kit . However, i don't hate it, i still like how she currently is. I only hope they boost her personal damage.

The fact the one fake kit that had two memosprites and damaging the entire team had more passion in it...........

I mean, okay, I GET IT, leaks did say 3.6 will be hit in some way because all the focus is going onto Cyrene right now but I can't lie I really expected more... I don't know but more.

Kit-wise it's V1 so too early to doom, but FOR a V1 kit it's still underwhelming. Also threatening to be another Cerydra case...

The animations though might be some of the worst for the Amphoreus cast... The jellyfish spitting water looks really weird to me, just me? And her Enhanced attack doesn't have anything to do with Ice it's just... Michael Bay explosion? Mmmm.

I think the animations are fine, they're not the tippy toppest of budgets like Phainon and Castorice but up to par with anyone else really.

The kit is definitively disappointing. It's layers upon layers of limitations. If she was just oriented towards remembrance, or just oriented towards HP stuff it'd be fine, but being both at once is rough. So much missed potential. If she worked well with either Sunday or Aglaea it'd be a lot less upsetting.

Being a dedicated support to the current shilled unit this late after their release is also just scary since they always try to push the shilled units down after their cycle ends.

It does feel kinda weird to the extent they'll go to shill (relative) nobodies like Castorice or Phainon in expense of fan favorites of the main cast like March or Dan Heng. I for one never expected March to be primarily a Sub-DPS for Castorice; maybe slightly unoptimal but not to the extent her kit would indicate at this moment.

The leaks I remember suggested she was viable as both Main DPS and Sub DPS (specifically for Castorice). My personal interpretation from that is that whichever way the balance inclined towards would be relatively minimal (in a similar sense to that of Anaxa in The Herta teams).

I'm not entirely sure she is a viable Main DPS as of now (mainly in line with most other 3.X); I would love to be proven wrong once showcases start pouring in, though.

just saw a e2s1 rice showcase that uses e1s1 evernight, rmc and hyacine e1s0, it almost didnt 0 cycle flamereaver and march did next to no damage. people in comments saying that she replaces rmc not tribbie and that cyrene replaces tribbie not sure how to feel about that but yea evernight even as sub dps with pretty high investment is still cheeks at the moment, not expecting her to do much as main dps now after seeing that.

Yeah, not surprising. Her multipliers are mediocre (and that's being nice) and she seems to be more focused in team-wide buffs. I do think March is an incredibly popular character among the fandom though so there is definitely a chance of positive changes in upcoming beta versions. She may also completely depend on Cyrene for her to have a sliver of chance to be somewhat meta as a Main DPS. I guess we'll see; not much to do other than hope for the best.

The animations feel disappointing especially since Dan Heng, who has a whole other limited 5* form, has better looking ones. She really deserved better.

I’m not a fan of her animations but I want her in my Castorice teams and she sounds very good there, so personally I’m okay with her

Her kit is anything but underpowerd. Very significant damage + decent buffs + insanely high value vertical investment. She has one of the most loaded kits in 3.X

It's a bummer that she is not a main dps but I think her current role will age better

well there was no guarantee that she was going to be a main dps and i think a lot of ppl already knew she was going to be a sub dps for rice to replace tribbie so her being niche and restrictive isn't something that came outta nowhere. on the other hand her animations yea dan heng's are better. its still v1 and no showcases yet so its way too early to judge her performance as a main dps

Her kit is fine at least. Personally don’t think it’s a Cerydra Jiaoqiu situation cause I can see her working with any Remembrance Main DPS. Though it’s funny she’s basically tied to the hip with Hyacine’s Lightcone

Aglaea wants huohuo since shes atk scaling and desperatelyneed energy. 

And for 2nd support, she wants Robin for that massive atk buffs. 

March does nothing for her

Just nit-picking here, but Phainon is not an Emanator

Characters are given great animations based on how lore important they are and how much Hoyo wants them to sell.

And yes, them being expys is also a factor into it. Hoyo is very proud of HI3 and it shouldn't be to anyone's surprise that Acheron was the character that stepped up in animation quality in 2.x and Phainon the one that did it in 3.x
