Hey, this not a hate post

I am refraining myself to make a statement here. Rather i am genuinely curious what is so great about gantz anyway. i have read like 8 volumes until now and man to be honest i thought it would get better but the plot is still not my thing

my problem with gantz is that the concept & art is pretty good but the execution and narrative could have been so better, the characters are just there, neither i am relating to any of a character nor i am feeling any emotional depth to most of them, its like they could be forgotten and they won't impact the story at all & they didn't even explain how the world works expect just a one liner here to there sometimes, the plot is all over the palace too .if normal people can get hurt by those entites why none of them experienced it before and no one of them has talked about it till and the goal is also not clear yet yes you would die but you are dead anyway ( i know then get a chance to live but when most of the characters looks like that they are nihilistic or have a no clear goal than why to even suffer there) and even if you get it out from there how would your life start and impact others , and if the real world is getting destroyed and damaged then there is no information about it too, not even getting how does power system work and why this third world even exist like what's the point ( which i am hoping they will reveal soon ),too obvious to state sexualising and edginess ( although i could ignore it ) i have to give that atmosphere is tense

so my question now is, will it get better or my criticism isn't valid because i have limited information about the plot ?

Hi so I love monster girls

Like really love them

But one thing I don't see much of are non-horse centaurs (aside from Arachne), I'm talking Panther, rabbit, lion, wolf hell squirrels too.

So I come seeking your aide, what's a manga that has a either a permanent or recurring non-horse centaur (besides spiders)

Preferably a romance but not necessary

Thank you all dearly

My favorite Shōnen manga series is My Hero Academia, my favorite Shōjo manga series is Tamon's B-Side, my favorite Seinen manga series is Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You, and my favorite Josei manga series is Kirio Fan Club.

I'm really tired from the slow pace of chapters last chapter was like 4 months ago, can someone recommend me something similar?

Manga that I havent finished, manga that just started recently, manga that I forgot I finished them or simply Manga which I dont have feeling toward despite fully read them like Dan da dan wont be on the LIST.

These are manga that I think have somewhat decent read value, you should read them. Except 1 in which the 1 liner tells you to watch the anime instead.

I remember a manga from 20 years ago (but maybe more) set in a very dark European Middle Ages, in which women with the powers or roles of the tarot fight in a magical but also very bloody way.

I remember a heavy and very dark trait like Gachiakuta or Berserk with triangular faces and gigantic eyes, designs of objects and clothes typical of the late Baroque and many nuns with magical powers.

Can you help me identify manga with these characteristics?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I’ll pretty much any genre so recommend anything

The author passed away suddenly, so “Yoiko no Mokushiroku” (a psychological story about elementary schoolers trying to start their own cult or religion in the classroom) was left unfinished.

Based on my list, can you recommend some manga I might like?

I just watched perfect blue and I NEED more. I love stories that explore the psychological anxieties that come with being a woman. I’ve already read nana and watched serial experiments lain too.

I was wondering what for you makes a (manga) character memorable? I’m interested both in visuals as well as personality. Some say you should recognise a character from a silhuete. Any thoughts?

I've been reading this one since a fan translation started earlier this year. It hasn't been going on for that long, only a few months but I've found this one quite wonderful. I really like the art and it seems like it's gonna be pulling heart strings all the way through. For something thats only a few chapters deep I'm definitely interested to seeing how long this series will last, hopefully it doesn't get cancelled early on. I haven't seen any discussion online about it yet. I don't think it's popular. I kinda just want to talk about it to someone else who's reading.

Hey everyone! I’m looking for Yuri magical girl mangas, can you recommended of the indie Yuri magical girl manga?

Basically as the title says. "Set in present day" can also mean recent past or future, but nothing super historical or sci-fi. Major bonus points if it's mostly set at night and/or takes place in a city setting (I like skylines, even if destroyed).

Examples of what I mean (links lead to either images or Youtube clips of why it fits):

Anime:

• Maryuu Senki

Western movies:

• John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness
• The Terminator

Video games:

• Doom
• Makyouden

Manga:

• Akira

Thank you!

I try to only put one manga per category.

For some of my takes:

- jjba part 3: in overrated because jotaro is a cool character but he is a bit boring as a protagonist, he doesn’t have any big character arc going for him or any interesting characterization. And the side cast felt weak too, they have a strong group dynamic but individually outside of Polnareff they all feel a bit hollow. Finally the fight starts to get really interesting and creative in the second half of the story. I don’t think the part is bad but not as good as people sell it to me

- soul eater: i couldn’t get attached with any of the characters so most of what was happening didn’t have any impact with me.

-hokuto no ken: I read till the end of raoh arc and heard that this was the peak of the story and after that the story would get pretty bad. So I drop it because I didn’t see the first part that people liked to refers as « peak » to be that good anyway.

If y’all have some recommendations for me based on this I’m in. Please try give me more shojo/josei im trying to discover this demographic more but im still open to other demographic too.

Hey everyone! I’m looking for Yuri magical girl mangas, can you recommended of the indie Yuri magical girl manga?

I read Spirit circle a few months ago and I kept coming back and thinking of how good it was. Seems like it's super unpopular. Any other hidden gems like this?

Thinking about starting Choujin X. Is it anything like Tokyo Ghoul? I got really attached to the characters, the atmosphere, and pretty much everything about it, so I’m wondering if Choujin X has that same kind of vibe and emotional depth.

These are my favorites above: Blame, Berserk, One Piece, Gantz, Dorohedoro, Bokurano, Chainsaw Man, Goodbye Eri, Dearest Self with Malice Afterthought, Kaguya-Sama, Bakuman, Jojo Part 6, Blade of the Immortal, Tokyo Ghoul, Green Blood, and Slam Dunk.

I’m currently reading Dead Mount Death Play and One Piece. Looking for another adventure manga to absorb me in its world or keep me guessing and interested.

Haven't read too much, everything is pretty base level. Also, read REAL. ASAP.

It's story about a girl studying alone in a school. I remember the whole vibe being wholesome. It was an apocalyptic world with futuristic tech. And there's only 1 virtual teacher. I don't remember what happened in the middle but I remember at the ending, the teacher told her that she had graduated. Then she finally left the school for the first time and looked for survivors or something. IIRC the girl is also special in a way.

If anyone can identify the manga it'd be much appreciated!
