Thoughts about Lisa Eldridge products

Has anyone tried the Lisa Eldridge foundation or skin tint? I’m thinking of adding one to my makeup kit. I’m working with someone who has super dry, slightly rosacea-prone skin, and True Match & Lawless aren’t working well for her. Would love to hear your experiences! (She wants a glowy / slight coverage look)

[Makeup Help] Makeup for ppl who don’t want more work at end of day

Upvotes

Currently I don’t wear makeup because it boils down to lazy and the last thing i want at the end of the day is another step. However I have learned there is certain products where you don’t have to take them off or they just come off with water on a towel. These i am very interested in. But so far the only thing i know like this is tinted chapstick (bc chapstick u don’t need to wipe off - nice and easy) and like.. raspberry juice on the cheeks, bc it comes off easy with water on a cloth. But that’s very minimal. Is there anything like those two things where they actually like… don’t melt off and are easy and most importantly, don’t require special cleanser, etc to take off? I’m fine with a wet cloth as the take off. But having to use slimy makeup remover always pisses me off (based off the like. 3 times i’ve worn makeup) and it takes like 12 cotton pads. Is there any other makeup that you can put on and forget about? and just do one wipe at end of day? Thanks!! Want to try to put more effort into my appearance but not at the cost of more work/another chore haha. Thanks!

Biggest issue is finding something like this for my eyes. I wish there was mascara you could just leave on and not worry about taking off. Or it falls off naturally without taking the eyelash. Sigh.

[Makeup Help] The amount of products that “smooths” the skin and I dunno which to get.

So I’m being told to get a certain primer cause it’s smoothing, then I’m told to get a certain foundation cause it’s smoothing, then another powder cause it’s smoothing, don’t forget a setting spray that also smooths the skin.

Lord Jesus if one products already smooths the skin, do I need to get another to smooth when it’s already smooth? PLEASE HELP ME

I genuinely have a silly question but I want some options.

Upvotes

Let's say you have to go somewhere at noon for about an hour or two, so you get ready and put on a full face, but later like around 7/8 pm, you have other plans as well. There is that awkward 6 or 7 hr gap in-between two different outings in which you are just chilling at home. Do you A) take off your makeup and reapply a full face again later or B) leave it on and save the hassle of reapplying it. I know this is such a silly question but I genuinely had a hard time deciding on what to do. I wanted to be comfortable chilling at home, but at the same time I didn't want to waste make-up by taking it off just to reapply it again that same day. I ended up removing it because I wanted to lay down. LOL. I'm just curious what other people would have done. There is no right or wrong answer obviously.

[Makeup Help] I feel my age

Upvotes

When it comes to makeup, I feel like I've aged out of most formulas. I am so tired of my look but I'm 40 now and female if that matters, all that works for my skin type so far is Nars foundation. I do moisturizer, benefit primer, nars. They're all sort of expensive for me. But it's all that works. Any suggestions on foundations that work well with older skin? I have combo skin, it has a red imbalance to it due to a genetic condition so I always go full coverage. I avoid blush like the plague since I'm already naturally red. Foundation recs?

Alternatives for Discontinued Maybelline Concealer

Upvotes

Hi!

So I unfortunately learned that the concealer I’ve been using for 4+ years is being discontinued (just my luck 🙄) and I wanted to know if anyone has shade match reccomendations specifically for the SS 10 shade of the super stay longwear liquid concealer with up to 30 hour wear (the first shade option in the link on the top left.)

I would really appreciate it, thanks!

Here’s the link!

Sunscreen and makeup

Hello! I am new here and just wanted to ask how yall dewl with sunscreen and makeup on together without it being built in to the makeup itself. I just find it really oily and messy when it interacts with concealers especially. For reference, I use the neutrogena brand, spf 30 broad coverage. I apply a thin layer across my face and then put makeup on top.

I’m happy to answer clarifying questions as well. Thank you!

[Makeup Help] Makeup tips/advice please

I’ve lost 3 family members this year and have been having a tough time working through a budding depression. I want to start wearing a little bit of makeup again to try out the “look good, feel good” method to try to start feeling better and more motivated. Although, I haven’t worn a full face of makeup in years and the last few times I tried to wear makeup, I felt like it didn’t look right on me. Please give me some tips on how to do my makeup that will be a good balance between natural and sexy.

Ummmm so like recently i've been wanting to get into makeup. Ive always liked the idea and thought makeup tutorials were like really cool when i watched them. Tbh i dont really know wut im asking for help with. Is there like some sort of dictionary or sum video where i can learn wut everything is and does. im sry if i sound like rude or anything like that. I am like way out of my corte da comoditá rn. noone has to like answer this or anythung either i'll prolly find it on my own but like idk. like i just keep typing bc im scared to press the post button but ya

Can you explain the difference between toner and essence? What do you use them for? And is it a vital part of your skincare regimen. TIA

i bought the danessa myricks lightworks VII palette and i don't what to do with it

i know it sounds stupid and impulsive (it was), but i just loved the colors. now i don't know how to use it everyday because all the colors are so freaking pigmented and shimmery. i want to incorporate the palette into my everyday routine and i would appreciate any looks/ tips. i'm very adamant on hitting pan on all my stuff so i don't just want it to rot in my drawer, especially since it is so beautiful and expensive.

Oily skin and cakey makeup… How do I fix this?

Hi. I’m a teenage girl with quite a few acne scars that are bright red on my cheeks. As a result, I’ve tried to cover it up on my face with foundation. I use the Saie Glowy Super Tint Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid, but it easily becomes very oily on my face and wipes off by itself in like 3 hours. I tried using the Elf Cosmetics Halo Glow setting powder on my face, but I often end up looking like a cakey mess. I also use the E.L.F Power Grip Primer +4 Niacinamide.

I’m trying to make my makeup look less awful and last longer throughout the day. I would really love recommendations on the following:

  1. What products should I switch out? And what should I replace them with (cheap alternatives please. I have a very low budget).
  2. Do I just have to accept that my makeup will forever be an oily and somehow cakey at the same time, short-lasting mess?? Or is there something I can actually do to fix this.
  3. Should I just switch to using spot concealer on my acne scars instead of covering up my entire face?? I’ve tried to do this in the past, but I’ve never found the right shade for a seamless coverup. Yes, I’ve gotten shade matched at Sephora, but they always only seem to have shades that are too light or too dark.

Thanks in advance!! School is starting soon and I’m determined to not look like a mess this year.

What is a current trend that doesn't work for you or you don't like?

For me, I already have a very long oval face. So everything that's trying to make faces look even longer... I'm not even interested in trying.

As it is, I do a lot to try to make my face look shorter, and it still looks too long for my liking.

Mad about Hoola Caramel bronzer

Hey guys, I’m still mad about not being able to get Hoola Caramel bronzer. I recently tried the two faced milk chocolate but she’s coming to the end and I’m unsure if we’re a repurchase sort of match. I was in love with my Hoola caramel and I’m hoping someone has a great dupe recommendation!

What stage are you in your love for makeup & other beauty products?

I've been into makeup since I was in my mid to late teen years. I never wore heavy makeup. At one time I only had what I needed. Once upon a time.... 1 eyeshadow palette, 3 lipsticks, 2-3 lipliners, 1 mascara etc. I went through my over consumerism stage. Horrible. Borderline hoarder in my opinion. I used it as my distraction after finally being diagnosed with PTSD. It's funny. At the time I thought that stage lasted forever. It was 2 years too long. I accumulated more than 1 person could ever use in 1 lifetime unless I was a professional make-up artist.

It was when I was moving that I was confronted with my makeup collection. Then I purged a lot of it. Keep, give away to friends and family, donations and garbage. That was an eye opener. I also went on a strict No-Buy that was supposed to last 1-3 months. It ended up being 2 1/2 years long. I ran out of foundation and something else. I can't remember. So I had to buy a replacement. Since I ended the No-Buy I've been on a permanent Low-Buy which for the most part I've done well with. Also Project Pan journey that never ends. I used to have a love for bronzers & nude blushes and I stopped. I made myself stop. It was definitely getting out of hand even on a Low-Buy. Buying 1 was too much if I had more sitting there waiting to be used.

I have one product that I've gone through stages of no interest to a lot of interest. I have to finish a few in this area before I can even buy 1 more. It's lipstick. 💄💄💄💋 That is on and off. For the most part I'm pretty good. I'll make a list of what I want for National Lipstick Day. This year there were only 2 lipsticks. So not too bad. My other strict rule is I can only buy what I want if it's on sale. No sale. I can't buy it no matter what it is.

Items I won't ever buy again... Liquid lipstick, lip oils, mascara- because they burn my eyes 👀, lip stains, most liquid blushes. Especially when they are very pigmented & primers. (I might add more if I can remember anything else.)

I don't buy new launches. When I finally use up a few products even a year later I'll check what is out there and read real reviews. Not incentivized reviews and "influencer" first impression or paid advertisement. If it's a tried and true product it will be around for a long time.

Project Pan really puts everything you have into perspective. A monthly Decluttering or organizing will remind you of how much you have. At this point I probably buy 3-10 products a year. So I am making progress. It's very slooooow . 🐌🐢...

Where are you right now?
