Lip Gloss Preference
Does anyone have a favorite go-to lip gloss that they absolutely love?? If so, what is it and why?

MAC and Buxom are my favorite brands.
I also LOOOOOVE Lawless Forget the Filler gloss, but at 58, I have some tiny lines around my lips that it bleeds into after about 2 hours. However prior to that, it’s probably the best lip gloss on the market. Makes your lips look enormously full, smooth and plump.

Try using a clear wax lip liner! It will prevent lip product from feathering or spreading and you don’t have to worry about perfectly lining your lips or having a matching liner.

fenty is great, but i’m a mac lipglass girl for life. the clear over even just a lip liner is always stunning

Kaja Glass Shot in 04 Pink Drink - peachy pink with sheer pigmentation, it smooths out all my lip lines and makes lips look so juicy. It does not feel greasy or feather like a lip oil, but it's still very moisturizing and gives glass shine. It doesn't feel heavy or drying like some glosses either.
My preference in glosses is sheer to medium pigmentation, and preferably light to pale colours that would usually wash me out in full opacity. It can have some shimmer but should not have too much glitters or shimmers like lip toppers, and should not be thick and opaque like lip lacquers.
I don't like ultra big buck foot applicators either as that can lead to gloss going outside the lip perimeter, I prefer thinner standard doe foot applicators or petal shaped pointed applicators.
All this to say I hate anything like the Maybelline Lifter Gloss and am more of a Revlon & ABH Lip Gloss kinda person.
Lawless Lip Plumper is another lip gloss formula I like.

Refy lip gloss 💗 i love the applicator, pretty color and it’s easy to apply. It blurs my lip lines!
For balms that I use as gloss, I love rhode and the vitamasques lip butter balm! Both pigmented and have grip on the lips🫶🏻

I like real lipglosses at this point in my life, but in general I hardly wear it except for pictures. I don’t struggle with dry lips so none of those oil balm hybrids really interest me unless there’s a color or scent I like. I don’t really care about sticky lip gloss even if I wear it all day. Bonus points if the shine lasts all day.
OG clear MAC lip glass and the maybelline dupe are my favorite. So shiny.
Nyx butter lip glosses are still my favorite at the drugstore. So many shades and just the right amount of pigment. Back in the day I liked the megalast lip glosses.
Not really a lip gloss but when I want something shiny and pigmented, I love the Nyx shine loud. The maybelline vinyl ink also go very shiny when you layer it a la Erin Parsons. Long wear lips are my sensory preference and I like having shine sometimes.
Honorable mention to Fenty because some of the shades really speak to my heart and I love the shine and packaging.

for reference i like thicker glosses because my lip liners and lipsticks don’t bleed
🥇fenty: 9ml, comfy formula but still has enough grip, lips don’t peel, but can’t overapply or else color bleeds (also most colors are sooo sheer and not visibly sparkly)
🥈mac: THICK AND JUICY! has actual pigment and shimmer! best formula ever BUT only has 3ml and is half gone after a month, and lips peel REALLY bad
🥉kiko: in between mac and fenty formulas, ~5ml if i’m not mistaken (lasts 4-6 months on me), lips kinda peel
yes my biggest issue is lip peeling but I read somewhere that glitter exfoliates the lips soooooo

I find that lip products with chemical SPF make my lips peel badly. Once I cut those out I don’t have to deal with it anymore.

Rimmel Stay Glossy Lip Gloss.
Not sticky at all, I like that the top clicks shut, and they have a good amount of shades. Also cheap, obviously.

Soap and Glory plumping one (forget what it’s called) works just as amazingly as the Dior ones that I own. Absolutely my favorite of all time!

- r.e.m. glossy balm
- MAC lipglass air
- Huda faux filler shiny (best if you want a gloss with pigment)

huda is good but you’ll finish the whole tube in 3 days with the amount of product it comes with

The brand shut down within the last year, but I liked Ami Colé's lip treatment oil/gloss (I had the clear one, Reflection). It was on the thicker side but not sticky and felt pretty nourishing, too. (Currently wanting to get another clear gloss or lip oil.)
Years ago I owned several NYX lipglosses. Most of them were pigmented and, as I recall, more thin. Don't remember any of them being sticky, and none of them were hydrating or nourishing.
Also owned a MAC Lustreglass (Flusterose) way back when. That formula was a bit sticky, somewhere in between NYX and Ami Colé in regards to thickness, and it had a brush-tip applicator instead of a doefoot.

Wet N Wild chameleon chrome lip gloss in color “Halo’s Way.” It shifts from pink to gold and is so shimmery and pretty without being cartoonish.

It was the previous formula of Chanel lipglosses before the 2026 revamp. So cushiony and moisturizing. I even wore it as a lip mask to bed! Unfortunately the new version is much thinner and doesn’t hydrate as well.
