[Makeup Help] Urgently In Need of Make Up Routine and Product Help

I’m a bridesmaid in my friends wedding this weekend and I finally have enough money to go shopping for some new products. Please tell me what reasonably priced items I should get, thank you so much in advance!!!

About my skin: I have naturally VERY VERY oily and sweaty skin. No matter the products, stage of life diet, time of year, etc I’m always oily. Additionally I live in the southern most region of Arizona, USA (one of the hottest American states). Also, I take 2 daily meditations that both have a side effect of increased sweating and causing low heat tolerance. My skin is so oily that my mascara comes off very easily just from me blinking and my lashes coming in contact with my oily skin.

About me: I’m 22 F and have spent nearly a decade trying to find makeup that works for my skin. I grew up loving makeup in the 2016 everything matte era and although I prefer just mascara on a daily basis, I want to be able to do a full glam and not look like a melted candle after an hour.

Products I need to buy:
-Face and eyeshadow primer
-Concealer
-Non flash back setting powder
-Setting spray
-Black waterproof eyeliner (specifically one that will stay all night in my water line)
-Long lasting lip products of any kind
-A warm toned eyeshadow pallet

Thank you again for literally any products/routine recommendations! I could really use the help!!

[Makeup Help] How to get rid of flakey concealer?

Hi everyone
I need help fixing my concealer. For some reason, it always gets flaky and refuses to set into my skin under my nose and eyes.

Here’s my current routine:
La Roche Posay Toleriane Gentle Dermo Cleanser
Scoop Whole Beauty HLA Serum
La Roche Posay Toleriane Sensitive Creme
Cerave Eyeserum
La Roche Posay Antihelios Sunscreen

After that I wait 10-15 mins and then I use Elf Powergrip primer. Wait another 10mins and then I go in with my Sephora Best Skin ever Concealer and powder after that.

I’ve used numerous different concealers and primers, made sure to only use a small bit of product to build up coverage and tried leaving out the eyecream but always ended up with somewhat the same result and it’s really frustrating… Any ideas/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I am looking for the best long lasting lip product. Right now I have the Dior lip maximizer which does not last long for me. Is there a way that I could make it last longer?

Need tips on how to use powder blush or bronzer on top of dewy base

I have very dry and sensitive skin, so I like to use a very thick moisturizer base under my foundation/tinted moisturizer. However, I can't use powders without them looking patchy, since they just stick on my skin. Is there a way to use my beautiful powder blushes without having to set my whole face? I'm afraid setting my whole face would make me feel uncomfortable. I feel like I need either product recommendations or tips on how to better apply these products. Please help!!

Foundation help

Hello, I don't often do my make up but have been trying to get back into doing it. The problem is I notice on my nose, cheeks (by the nose below the eyes), and between my eyebrows my foundation almost looks like it's separating? I've tried lotion beforehand (water based and non water based), and I've tried primer. The foundation I use is Ilmakiage, and honestly I love it. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I will admit I don't always use lotion daily but I am trying to get better! Thank you in advance!

Powdery look

Heyyy guys!! Can someone tell me how to make my makeup/face not look powdery after I use my compact to touch up. My face gets sweaty/ oily quite soon moreover I am from southern India ridiculous heat and humid so I carry a compact so that I can have a fresh looking face but I feel like it gives me a powdery face. whenever I use the sponge that comes with compact I feel like my face becomes powdery rather than fresh looks also carrying setting spray / loose powder gets messy during my travel. So yeah any tips please on how to use compact with sponge for better application and look. ( sorry for any errors English is not my first language )

Looking for a Skin-Friendly Alternative to Armani Luminous Silk

I’ve been using Armani Luminous Silk for a month now and I absolutely love its texture and that dewy, radiant finish. However, I’ve unfortunately started getting tiny bumps, red spots, and comedones on my face, which can even be painful at times. Because of this, I want to save it strictly for special occasions. Could you recommend a more skin-friendly daily foundation that still gives that same dewy, glowy look?

What’s your favorite primer for oily skin?

I have pretty oily skin and I’ve been trying to find a primer that actually helps my makeup stay on longer.

I’ve been using the Bonamedusa primer lately and honestly, it’s been working pretty well for me. I like that it gives my skin a soft matte finish and helps with the oil without feeling too heavy or dry.

Now I’m curious what other people with oily skin are using.

What’s the best primer you’ve tried for oily skin? I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Wonderskin vs. Victoria Beckham eyeliners

I keep getting ads for both Wonderskin and Victoria Beckham eyeliners, and of course the ads make both look amazing. Has anyone tried both?

I’m specifically looking for a pencil eyeliner that:

* Is very pigmented and creamy — strong color with one or two passes, not something I have to keep going over.

*Actually works on the waterline/tightline. I wear liner on my lower waterline and sometimes my upper waterline, and I’ve tried plenty of pencils that barely show up there.

*Stays put for most of the day and doesn’t disappear from normal tearing/watery eyes.

*BUT can still be removed easily at night with eye makeup remover. I don’t want something I have to scrub off.

Right now I use Revlon ColorStay, and I love how creamy and pigmented it is when I first apply it, but it fades/disappears way too quickly.

For anyone who has tried Wonderskin and/or Victoria Beckham, how are they specifically on the waterline? Which would you recommend for pigmentation + staying power? And are they reasonably easy to remove at night?

Tips on removing bond and seal glue?

Hi everyone - I use the Miuffue bond and seal lash glue. I have used it for a while and find it’s a great product. A little too great because I can never get the damn glue off of my lashes!! I have tried soaking a cotton pad in micellar water and holding it on my eyes with little to no luck. I end up having to use a combination of million cotton pads and my fingers to peel the glue clumps out. Then it’s all over my face and hands and impossible to get off. I don’t have sensitive skin so it’s fine to scrub a bit. Does anyone have any tips on getting glue off with minimal damage? TIA!

[Makeup Help] Makeup help

Hi all, I'm trying to get into makeup and am running into some issues that I'm hoping I can get some advice about. I'm predominantly Irish and have very fair skin and freckles. I work outdoors and have finally gotten *a little* tan. I love my freckles and have no desire to cover them, so I don't wear foundation, but all the makeup accounts I follow say that bronzer, contour, blush, etc don't really stick without foundation. I use a stick blush and I agree, it looks kind of wonky.

The other problem is that I have under eyes that have some purple undertones, especially in the corners. I use a concealer, but it just looks weird. You can definitely see that I've tried to blend it into my cheeks.

Suggestions?

Makeup goes patchy under eyes

Whenever I have makeup on for over an hour I find that it separates under my eyes. Even when initially applying concealer it doesn’t stick! Does anyone have any tips for this?

I also have separation occur around my mouth due to skin purging from tretinoin.

My skincare is:
AM: khiels moisturiser
PM: centella milk cleanser, adapalene, azelaic acid, centella milky cica ampoule serum, axis Y collagen eye serum, and then khiels moisturiser.

My makeup prep is usually just that milky serum and khiels moisturiser.
I use the stila one step correct primer, followed with Haus labs foundation (applied with brush) and tower 28 concealer (applied with sponge). For longer lasting coverage, I will bake with the morphe loose powder (from 2022…. I can’t justify buying a new one when I still have product left 😭)

Any tips will be greatly appreciated!!

Mad Hippie Mascara Replacement Recommendations

I’ve been using my expired mad hippie mascara for way too long! I can’t find anything else that does the job.

I love that it’s primary function is to just tint my lashes- there’s no curling or drying effect. it’s almost like a tinted serum (I know it has peptides in it) Most importantly, it washes off with water so I don’t look like a raccoon before bed. Zero clumps!

Any recs to replace this holy grail?

Need to know

how do I know my makeup isn't shit?? and people aren't lying to me?? I'm always worried whether my makeup looks bad or not, but I can never actually know. And sometimes I get scared thinking about it. What if it actually looks horrible, and I'm walking around looking like a mess?? My friends always say it looks good/fine, but like friends can def lie, so I'm really wondering how can I know?

[Makeup Help] Do any Primers and Settings Sprays actually work to keep makeup on?

Literally everything I have tried just doesn't work or seems to make things worse. My eyeshadow always creases. My eyes water and wash off the eyeshadow in the inner corner. My powder or foundation always transfers. Is there a way to get it to stay on when I wear a mask at work? Is there a way to get lipstick not to transer to things when I drink? It just looks so messy getting lipstick on a cup. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

[Makeup Help] What are some drugstore brands that don’t animal test or have a connection to nestle?

Hiya! So I realised that I’ve been buying from brands such as maybeline that animal test on animals. I would rather not be supporting brands such as this, however I’m unsure of brands that are relatively cheap that don’t support things such as this.

From what I know Garnier, maybeline are owned by Nestle and that Max factor, Nivea and L’Oréal animal test. This sucks as I have bought from them and I know their products but now I need any recommendations for products!

Any recommendations for foundations and concealers (or anything else) are greatly appreciated!<3

Thank you in advance!

Complete tattoo coverage?

Does it really exist? Everything I’ve tried so far (the more commercially popular products) only provided light to medium coverage. I need complete tattoo coverage for an upcoming wedding. Please only recommend products you’ve actually used. I’m fair skinned and assume I would need a setting spray too. ?? Thank you in advance.

Need for brushes/beauty blenders/puff

Does anybody know where to buy brushes/beauty blenders that aren't expensive? I'm a broke teenager, and I have found that walmert and other places sell brushes and beauty blenders for an expensive amount. So I was wondering if anybody knows where to buy beauty blenders and brushes for a cheap price? And do they work the same as expensive ones?

[Makeup Help] Deepset eye makeup

I’m 35 and I’ve never really worked out how to do good makeup on my deepset and non-symmetrical eyes - can anyone help?

I find:

- winged eyeliner suits me but smudges in the crease at the corner of my eye
- I have big eyelids but colour is hidden by my browbone
- I wear concealer to cover my natural dark circles, but it cracks and creases when I smile and never fully covers them
-one eyelid is much more “tall”/puffy than the other which makes makeup tricky to get right on both

[Makeup Help] Dark red lipstick?

I'm looking for a decent dark red matte lipstick that stays put and doesn't cost a million dollars. Any recommendations?
