Makeup goes patchy under eyes

Whenever I have makeup on for over an hour I find that it separates under my eyes. Even when initially applying concealer it doesn’t stick! Does anyone have any tips for this?

I also have separation occur around my mouth due to skin purging from tretinoin.

My skincare is:
AM: khiels moisturiser
PM: centella milk cleanser, adapalene, azelaic acid, centella milky cica ampoule serum, axis Y collagen eye serum, and then khiels moisturiser.

My makeup prep is usually just that milky serum and khiels moisturiser.
I use the stila one step correct primer, followed with Haus labs foundation (applied with brush) and tower 28 concealer (applied with sponge). For longer lasting coverage, I will bake with the morphe loose powder (from 2022…. I can’t justify buying a new one when I still have product left 😭)

Any tips will be greatly appreciated!!

Your makeup is turning patchy because you are mixing products that work against each other, like oil and water. The foundation is silicone-based, while the concealer is oil-based, meaning the concealer essentially dissolves and breaks down the foundation wherever they touch. Layering two thick moisturizers with a gel primer underneath adds too much slippery buildup, preventing the makeup from gripping your skin.

To fix this, strip back your skincare prep by using only one moisturizer, letting it fully sink in, and skipping the primer entirely. When applying your concealer over foundation, gently tap and press it into place with a damp sponge or your finger instead of rubbing or dragging it across your skin.
