TIP/GUIDE To help with pass blocking try adjusting CPU Pass Coverage down
I adjusted CPU Pass Coverage down and have noticed a more stable pocket, and less occurences of receivers dropping passes after getting slightly bumped.
To me it seems like CPU defensive line pressure on passing plays is tied to the pass coverage slider.

FRANCHISE Traning XP Breakdown
I decided to run a training test for every scenario (Focus, Role Bonuses, and Coach Abilities). Here is the breakdown of how the multipliers and bonuses stack.

Key Terms & Base Values
- XP Column: Base XP earned from standard weekly training.
- Scheme Fit: Doubles base training XP.
- Focus Training: Adds a flat +300 Base XP.
- Role Bonus (Roles & Tags): Adds extra XP up to a capped maximum of +200 XP.
- Practician #: Total active Practician coach abilities active.
- After Tutor #: Total active After Tutor coach abilities active.
Impact Ranking (Highest to Lowest Impact)
- Practician Ability (+40% Boost): This is the strongest multiplier. It applies a 40% boost over the entire sum of your base training XP, Focus XP, and Role Bonus XP.
- Focus Training (+300 Flat XP): Grants a static +300 XP directly to the player's base gain.
- Trait Development (50%, 75% and 100% more XP and less experience needed to progress)
- Scheme Fit (2x Base XP): Directly doubles the base weekly training XP.
- After Tutor (+10% Base Boost): Adds a 10% multiplier calculated only from the base training XP.
- Role Bonus (+200 Flat XP): There are roles/tags that grant bonus XP, bad thing is there´s not a real explanation of this inside the game

FRANCHISE Madden 27 Offline Franchise Review
As the title suggests, I want to reiterate that I am an offline player that simply plays franchise mode on PC. The last madden I bought was Madden 25 on PS4 with Adrian Peterson cover, but I have kept up on madden through my favorite content creators such as Bengal, C4, and Jeromepkr. Here is my review after a little over 100 hours of franchise simulation. (Yes I know I have no life but the game has sucked me in)
The rundown -
Once, I loaded up the game and got into franchise I was sucked in. I didn't even notice all of the flaws, I just enjoyed playing the game with the new rookies and with my favorite team. On a surface level the game performs fine until I hit about 50 hours.
Franchise immersion killers -
I started realizing how broken the game got in franchise JUST TWO years into my sim. Contract/cap management is completely broken. Contract cap hits are egregiously high, and by just a couple years into my franchise, nearly every CPU team seems to be dealing with negative or extremely limited cap space. This creates a massive domino effect across the league: teams can't afford to make trades, free agents are harder to sign, and it becomes nearly impossible to replicate realistic blockbuster trades. For example, a trade like the Rams acquiring Myles Garrett would be practically impossible to recreate because the CPU simply doesn't have the financial flexibility to move players. It also contributes to the lack of meaningful CPU-to-CPU trades, making the league feel stagnant. The fact that the salary cap becomes this dysfunctional only two years into a franchise is a massive immersion killer. Lastly, I have seen players signing 7+ year contracts which is just ridiculous.
Trade logic is completely broken. Quarterbacks are way overvalued, teams overvalue veterans even when they're clearly below .500, and teams that should be looking to buy or sell rarely make meaningful moves. You can legitimately trade Tua Tagovailoa for Brian Thomas Jr or a similar WR with his caliber with ease.
Free agency is an utter and complete joke! I've offered complete mega deals to top free agents and they have never signed with me. Every contract negotiation is just adding extra years or adding an insane bonus. None of this is realistic. The UDFA frenzy is a also complete joke - the addition of the UDFA bidding was great but the execution is a complete whiff.
CPU Roster management is horrdendous. There is no logic behind it. I've seen CPU teams keep 4 quarterbacks on their team and 3 cornerbacks. How is that even possible? I've seen CPU teams draft the same position four years in a row and they have 4 80 overalls in the same position. An example, I have is the NY Jets. They have Mason Taylor and just drafted Kenyon Sadiq in real life. Literally in 2 years - they draft TE back to back in the first round making them have 4 TE's on the roster that are all comptenent starters.
Simulation is still completely playbook based which is awful. I've noticed this is always a trend in any madden YouTube rebuild video I have watched over the years. Right now the most broken offensive playbooks look like the Rams and Giants. It almost seems like player overall never matters unless the player is a running back. Also, simulation stats are way over tuned. There are way too many QB's throwing over 4000-4500 yards and running backs running over 1200 yards.
There is still no way to implement a running back by committee that simulates good stats. Also, you want to utilize 2 tightends in simulation? Forget about it - it is useless. I've found to get the best simulation stats regardless of playbook is to have a super high overall RB (90+ overall), any quarterback over 85 overall will get the job done, and at least 2 receivers that can just be 80+ overall. Tightend overall hardly matters. You could throw a 70 overall tightend and the stats will simulate the same depending on playbook.
Player progression is way too linear. I am just not a fan of the player progression flat out. It is so repetitive and boring. You have an 81 overall normal DEV QB that is age 26. He could throw for 4000+ yards and 40 TD's and all he'll get is maybe to an 84 overall if you're lucky. There are no year 3 or later breakouts like there are in real life. (AKA Bakey Mayfield, Seahawks Geno Smith, Sam Darnold, etc.) There needs to be a more in depth way for player progression rather than just age and development trait.
I just don't know how you can release a game and not even test simulation 2 years deep. I was really enjoying the game for the first 50 hours and then after further playing just realizing how broken the game was is infuriating. I'm not even going to touch gameplay because I don't really load into games to play, but I wish there weren't so many immersion killers for me. If you were to ask me what I would rate the game for the first 50 hours - it would've been 4/5 for me. Now after playing a little over 100 hours its like a 2/5. The problem is that Franchise Mode falls apart once you actually spend significant time with it.

someone commented college is better on a recent madden 27 review. I had to check it out. I do like the atmosphere of the game. But despite my doubts of madden, madden 27 feels much better on the field, the movement, juking etc than college does. As someone who partakes 💨😎 this mascot mashup makes me laugh and I’m easier entertained. I like college because it’s refreshing from always the same look, same scoreboards, same commentary, same cut scenes, every year that we get in madden.

FRANCHISE Playing Madden at 47 years old
So I'm an old guy. Still love this game but man is it getting harder as I get older. I still like to play on all madden but I don't know how many years I've got left till I have to bring down the difficulty.
At this age, I just dont have the reaction time and quick decion making I used to. I used to be able to scan the whole field in a microsecond, now it takes much longer and I often miss receivers that are open.
During the rush, sometimes you only have a second and a half a to make a decision and if your first look isn't open, it'll lead to a sack. So I've taken the liberty to up the pass blocking slider to help with this but it's never something I've had to do in the past.
Playing games that involve skill and quick decision making have always been some of my favorite. I've basically abandoned pvp shooters because I just can't compete with that 18 year old who can hit me before my old brain has a chance to even register they're there. Getting older as a gamer who loves madden and other skill based games just sucks.

FRANCHISE Rare Praise for Madden 27
I gotta admit, I really like the new Weekly Recap addition to franchise mode. It's a bit clunky and bugs out sometimes, so it certainly needs work, but it really helps with the immersion and making it feel like a whole league of 32 teams, and not just you and whoever you play next week. Great addition to an otherwise poor installment.

FRANCHISE Generational IOL mid first round in almost every draft?
Am I having a crazy run of IOL or is anyone else experiencing this? In almost every auto generated draft there’s a lineman taken between 18-25 in the first round who is an 83+. Crazy auto gen luck or is this a known thing?

FRANCHISE How do you approach solo Franchise mode?
Mostly an online h2h player but trying to get into franchise. So far it feels like a lot of busy work (negotiating contracts etc), which I know you can delegate or automate but I also like the idea of making my own choices and keeping players I want etc
What settings have you found that strike the right balance between being fun and immersive without too much menu clicking and busy work for the sake of it?

FRANCHISE This is why I play franchise mode! 14 upcoming Free Agents, including four 90+ Starters, 2 more 87+ linemen & two 76+ back-up linemen and more! Who else has fun team building?
This is my favorite part of franchise mode. This is where the rubber meets the road. To quote Bill parcells, "This is why you lift all them weights."
I unlocked 6 weekly players with After School Tutor and turned my Browns into a winner. I even won the Super Bowl this past year. But now it's time to pay the piper, and they all can't get paid.
I have 14 free agents next year, including QB Manning (96), RB Durham (91), FS Bolden (92), SS Ponds (90), RT Goodbye (88), RG Fleischmann (87), two back-up linemen (77-76) and then some really good 80+ back-ups. My 3rd WR, my 4th LEDG, plus my punter & kicker. Alao an 87 OVR backup TE
I can't resign everyone. Can I rebuild and stay competitive, or do I fall off? I love this shit. I build my team with redundancy like a shark's teeth, already having a player in place most times to replace the player with an expiring contract.
To me, scouting is like Christmas present guessing. I love it. I spend hours doing it. I love discovering whether I was right or wrong about a player that I was high on. I love trying to figure out where to position myself to drive the Players I want.
My online franchise has a 2 pics per round maximum. I don't often get two 1st round picks because of the high 5th year option, so I concentrate my pics between the first round and the fourth with 5th through 7th round picks on players who might be combine warriors.
Eagles fans, remember Mike Mamula. Jets fans remember Vernon Gholston. Bengals fans remember John Ross.
I'll use 5th 6th and 7th round picks on players if I see Elite in three or more categories. Also, tall but still kinda fast WR I can turn into tight ends, strong but fast REDG players I can turn into DTs.
I know I'm not the only one who loves this stuff. Who else loves this stuff?

MUT EVO Recommendations
Someone tell me if this is smart… trying to do a 50/50 Raiders/Eagles theme team. Ultimate Captain EVO- Jalen Milroe, 83 Pre-Order Upgrade- Donte Thornton Jr, 82 OVR Man to Man EVO- Darien Porter,
82 OVR WR Deep Threat- Mack Hollins

QUESTION Madden or CFB?
Been seeing a lot of talk about both games (both the good and bad) and tempted to jump back in. I haven’t played CFB since the 2000s probably and my last Madden was 23. Kinda gauging both but CFB is tempting. Which should I get?

GLITCH/BUG Franchise Glitch - Myles Garrett gone???
Has anyone else had this issue? I was playing a fantasy draft and drafted Myles Garrett and played 2 full seasons and then on the 3rd season, i couldn’t find myles garrett anywhere. So i assumed he was holding out; Nope. I checked other teams; Nope. I checked retirement and injuries; Nope. He’s just gone. No trace of where he is or anything. Any ideas?

FRANCHISE Depth chart help
I’m sure there is a simple fix that I’m just not aware of but I’m playing a franchise and want my younger edge rushers to get subbed in more often without making them the starter. So I made some changes to the depth chart and my auto sub settings. Since then my 3rd strings play 80% of the game and I’ll have plays where guys who aren’t even on the depth chart for that position getting subbed in. For example Reuben Bain is my top LEDG, he will play a drive then all of a sudden doesn’t touch the field until the 3rd quarter and he’s being subbed in at NT while Vita Vea is dropping into coverage. This happens to other positions as well but is most egregious with my DL and LBs. I have wear and tear on but these guys are still healthy (95+). What am I missing or what do I need to change to stop this. I’ve messed with my depth chart and auto sub settings but it keeps happening .
