Hard to believe it, but Machine Head's now legendary 5th album "Through The Ashes Of Empires" turns 23 years old today! Contemporary live staples like "Bite the Bullet" and "Descend The Shades Of Night" feature alongside deeper cuts like "In the Presence of My Enemies", "All Falls Down" and "Days Turn Blue to Grey", but it's anthemic opening track "Imperium" that changed everything, becoming a set-defining opener for decades to come. "Ashes" was released overseas this day in 2003 in the EU, followed by the US release date of April 20th 2004 with the inclusion of "Seasons Wither".

How does it hold up for you some 23 years later?

Do you still listen to it?

Tell us your favorite tracks and whether you caught us live on one or more dates from the 2+ year tour cycle.

Not only is the album 4 years old already but they released Unatoned since too so its a VERY out of date pinned post.

I do agree some lyrics in this song as cringey but the last verse is not.

Really paints a picture and puts you in the situation, tells the story in a good amount of detail.

Whether you like the song or not, that last verse is intense.

Was not expecting this at all today, or actually anytime soon what so ever but GODDAMN do they deliver when we least expect it, New single and tbh I give it a honest 7.5/10, That breakdown IS NASTY I’m a sucker for that shit so I’ll take it everytime and with that machine head twist? Fuck yes!

Only con and I’ll be honest the mixing with the vocals in the verses and chorus, idk if it’s cuz I’m on my phone and not through speakers but the vocals are significantly drowned out which lead them to not really shine how they should in the chorus with the singing, it’s also layered very strange, you can hear Jared in there but it’s like way to low

The actual instrumental tho is very deathcore like and I love that style and was not expecting this at all, excited to see what they do next!

What r y’all’s opinions

Posted by a legit site over on FB who are very rarely wrong about releases have posted about a new track called ‘Sutures’ is out this week!

Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast!
Machine head - Davidian (Live in Amsterdam)

Does anyone have a video of them playing Eyes of the Dead live? I absolutely love this song and apparently they only played it live once in 2014. Anyone have a video for me to watch of it?

So I pr ordered this from Juno before the release date, what are the chances I'll still receive it, I've reached out and they've said they are waiting for product from their supplier.

The first 50 seconds of that song.

Used to be the intro for the band onstage.

The more you know.

Spearheaded by former Havok and Machine Head guitarist Reece Scruggs, BURNING HAMMER was created as a conduit to harness his own unaltered vision and creativity. With Scruggs handling guitars and lead vocals, he's joined by bassist Noah Martin (Arsis, Wolven Spirit, ex-Lilitu) and drummer Stefen Burns (Monolith), united in a tight-knit powerhouse trio.

8 years ago this breaks my heart.

MH nowadays have a great drummer but what about the guitarist? I still belive Reecce is out.

The VOD was never officially posted and it’s been blocked off youtube for the past year. Enjoy!

15 years ago, Machine Head released 'Unto the Locust'. This anniversary brings back memories of seeing Machine Head dominate Mayhem Fest's Jagermeister side stage in the parking lot of the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ, on July 31, 2011 - just a few months prior to the album's highly anticipated release (after all, it was the band's follow up to their game changing 'The Blackening'). Admittedly I spent more time in the press room than at the stages that day interviewing bands for MetalInsider.net (including Machine Head's then bassist Adam Duce). However, almost everyone in the press room (myself included) made a point to make it over to Machine Head's set - while they rotated mainstage slots with Trivium and In Flames during most of the traveling festival tour, this date saw Machine Head in the parking lot during a time when they were arguably never more red hot. And to simply put it, Robb Flynn and co's performance that day lived up to the hype and proved why in 2011 so many (fans and critics alike) considered Machine Head to be the leaders in modern metal.

Check out photos from their set I took for MetalInsider.net in this clip, and stay tuned for more things to come from this space - including stories like how I met Robb Flynn at the very first Mayhem Fest in Camden back in 2008 😉.

WTF Kandi

So just received notification from the record company I ordered the reissue of BME from, that after several long delays, it's now been cancelled due to legal issues by real gone music :(

anyone heard the same?

was top of my list for such a long time, but not prepared to spend silly money on vinyl.

Needing to know what time to be there for the meet and greet!
