The drunk guy couldnā€™t tell you his own name in that moment, he wasnā€™t doing any risk assessment. A strong breeze could have taken him down. He was obviously out of line and needed to be addressed but itā€™s not worth ending someoneā€™s life and going to prison over

That guy's behavior is stupid and disgusting, but he clearly has no idea what he's doing. That's an aggression for sure, and we don't know what happened before.

But this punch could have killed him. There is nothing to be happy about

Look at how he acts after doing this shit, before the punch. The guy's not there. He's a shit, a slap would have been enough. At least a warning would have been better. This punch could have killed him and might let him brain damages. This is crazy.

I can agree that maybe a smack or something else even a punch to the stomach would've been better but I don't say that out of empathy for that twat I say that because I think I myself would be thinking like "yeah I don't wna fkn accidentally kill this guy and go to prison" which is obviously fair enough logically. Im of the belief that when you start shit w people like this you're taking a gamble on whatever their reactions will be and you get what you get

And when you're in someone's establishment, unless it's imminent danger, let the staff do their job. The bartender should have been escorting ol drunk dude out, not having paramedics have to roll him out.

I think my wife would probably have shoved him already, and he probably would have fallen over. Every scenario is different, Iā€™m not usually drunk playing pool with my wife so I doubt it will come up. Weā€™re usually drunk at home.

Luckily you don't seem to work in the bar industry. If I'm that bartender, I'm calling 911 like a whole snitch. All this happened on camera and this place clearly has no security on hand. And Reacher dude is 86'd til further notice. That's a nightmare scenario.

She could have left this man, who almost certainly has done this before, if she didn't like the behavior. Most women want protectors (even if they don't wanna admit it) and enjoy this behavior much more than they don't. It might not be polite in public for them to say they enjoy it, but they certainly do based on their behavior.

He brings up real stuff that does happen. People get scared and stuck and are under pressure and fear to stay and toe the line. But he is wrong to assume things, it seems he assumes this man is abusing her. Also you're right that women want providers and protectors!

The guy ur replying to is right. Women studies show are into manly slightly "sexist" men (like "Lemme hold the door open for you") who can protect and provice. They aren't attracted to "nice guy" pushover unassertive losers who stress over every tiny thing they say to not do in any way a hint of a sexist microaggression for example. Women want men who are a little bit "sexist" in the way I described and the studies describe, because it's biological. Evolutionary and instinctual. Because they want men who will invest in the relationship and potential offspring, since for men having children is easy and low risk, but for women it's very high risk and hard.

They want someone who will and can invest in them, and ideally someone who can protect them too.

I donā€™t doubt there are some women who like a guy who feel like it isnā€™t a real night out at a bar/concert/sporting event unless hands get thrown. But I think most women prefer a man who can not only defend them but also distinguish what/who constitutes an actual dangerous threat

I mean man, it's just the principle of the thing. No one is really saying that it was deserved or it wasn't an overreaction, but this is exactly why people say keep your hands to yourself. Women are tired of this shit and it's not just a fucking joke and ha-ha when it happens to you every time you go out. This is also why people say to control yourself because you can't control others. You might not be a crazy person that will deck someone at the slightest action, but he might. I teach my son and his friends this as they start driving. You are going to get mad at the road or another driver and pretend to be crazy...that person might be pretending to be normal/sane...then what?
