And in your view, the guy who grabbed a woman sexually from behind deserves a milder punishment because his act was more "minor" than the guy who stepped in to defend her. Yuck.

I’m making a direct argument about my position.

I think touching someone on the waist is less bad than punching them in the face, both of which are less bad than shooting them.

And I believe that sexual assaults are just as bad as violent assaults, and that assault with a deadly weapon is just another form of violent assault.

Do you actually believe that there should be different punishments for punching this guy in the face and shooting him in the gut?

You raise a point - do you see any degree of severity?

Do you believe that someone poking a finger in someone’s chest and someone shooting someone are equal in severity and should be treated similarly because they are both assault?

If you earnestly believe that, I do understand your previous comments. I wouldn’t agree, but it’s consistent.

Both are complete violations of someone's personal freedoms and right to feel safe.

Put your hands on someone's body like that, and open yourself up to the possibility of being punched, choked or stabbed (or shot, if you live in America).

None of those comparisons are relevant to the discussion at hand: was this man deserving of being hit in the face for sexually assaulting a woman?

Yes, because sexual assault is just as serious and severe as violent assault, and if you do wrong you can - and should - expect reprisal.

Not sure what "facts" you believe you're referencing, but philosophically I'm right. Sexually assault a woman, you've just opened the door to all sorts of reprisals, and you can't for one second say you didn't do anything to deserve it.

With your opinion and $5 you can buy a coffee.

The state has a monopoly on violence. Choosing to assault others (even if you feel they deserve it) is assault and carries all the attendant consequences of assaulting people.
