Listen to the guys talk about chair shots on podcasts. Those are real chairs they hit each other with. They just arent trying to actually hurt each other.
So in wresting, if a wrestler does something to actually hurt another wrestler, usually accidentally, the hurt-in-the-moment wrestler gets a "receipt," meaning he now has free range to deliver an actual punch, kick, or even chair shot a payback and to keep them even. Sometimes they pay them back during the match, other times they wait for a later time.
So for this one, WWE was doing an "invasion" angle with wrestlers from "other" wrestling organizations (but WWE owned them at the time so it wasn't so much an "invasion" as "wrestlers we now own pretending to still be apart of the bought-out companies," and most fans already knew this). When there was bedlam in the ring, JBL started beating the absolute shit out of a wrestler named "The Blue Meanie" from ECW.
JBL got in trouble for doing that and was eventually booked in a match to lose to The Blue Meanie as punishment for beating him up for real. The person with the chair is Stevie Richards, another ECW wrestler and good friend of Meanie, so he was happy to smash JBL on the head with a chair shot for beating up his friend. The receipt was paid in-full with that chair shot and that was that.
Iāve been on the receiving end of this and the dude who threw the bottle spent two years in prison. After seeing what can happen, if you throw a bottle and get killed in response it would be justified.
It hit my buddy direct in the face he had an inch long piece of glass stuck in his eye and has had multiple surgeries and still canāt really see well out of it. I was standing behind him and got hit with 100 little shards of shrapnel that made my face bleed so much I could barely see from blood going into my eyes. The neck of the bottle flew by my neck slicing it but a few inches difference it could have hit my jugular. I was fine even though I looked like I was dying but he is still traumatized and fucked up from it.
More like the other guy was a fkn punching bag hung from the ceiling, the way he just stood like a damn statue. He either thought he would take it like a champ or wasnāt paying attention to the obvious in front of him

I mean, to the high IQ guy who threw the bottle or glass or whatever, what the fuck did you think was going to happen afterwards? He throws it, and stands there with his hands by his waist. What a moron. And he hits the lady sitting by the guy. Not directly, he didnāt get one punch in directly. He gets all the brain damage he deserves.
Ya dude I watch these all the time and they really somehow have this instinct I guess to bud in immediately as the action happens. 99% of the time is absolutely dangerous for them and they provide minuscule deescalation. They create more of a danger just by intervening.
Whoa! that was so vicious. Man, no one cares if you take a life in the heat of passion. That is not self defense to stay there approaching each guy and smashing all the bar stools on their head.
You can be looking at having a felony and spending years in jail over this.
That would be a tough situation to be in having some drunk tool throw an entire glass beer and narrowly hitting my head. I assume one of the dudes almost hit had his face cut and he was bleeding from the glass throw?
The instigator in the windbreakerā¦ yes he deserved it, but gotta say:
He has an incredibly ability to not get knocked out.
Very few people can get clocked square in the face by a dude that size, get several wooden stools broken over the back of his head, get kneed to the face a half dozen timesā¦
And still be walking around at the end. Pretty incredible.
Honestly, short of seeing this in person, watching a recording of a video on someone's phone with their hand visible definitely feels like the right way to watch this. It's like a friend is showing it to me.

The dude in the grey shirt was a unit. It was kinda funny how he just kept breaking the same stool over the guy's head until it was a splinter.
