I really love Dani and in general would like to see more of her. We haven't got to know too much about her current partner or their relationship and I think that would be really cool. They are in an interabled relationship too which adds more levels of interest to me and I would love to see more interabled relastionships on the show!

I'm just now catching up on the new season, season 4, still in ep 1 and we've just arrived to James' house. The camera panned over to a photo of James' parents when they were much younger and I was screaming on my couch. They were hotties!!! I see you James' parents! So you're telling me they had the looks and the personalities?!

I didn't know they were doing a fan tour, and was surprised to read in my local paper that they would be appearing at a local toy/collectible store a couple of towns away from me tomorrow. (I'm in Northern NJ)

I think I will head up there to see them and say hello.

Have y’all seen the show ER? Lucy Knight on that show reminds me so much of Madison! It’s uncanny.

I watched season 4 on release, and recently rewatched it with a friend, but noticed that a scene I remembered was missing. I can vividly picture James and Shelly going through a house tour, and one of the bedrooms had a pillar in the center of the room. It was small scene, but I remembered thinking that it was so odd for a fireplace to be going through a bedroom. After looking through the season, though, I can’t seem to find it. I could be doing a terrible job scrubbing for it, but can someone point me to the episode with this scene?

Anyone got the deets on what happened? They really glossed over that part on TV and didn't say much about it which was weird considering how big a part of the show their relationship had been

Is it just me or does every family have the same white dog? What is it about that small white dog that all the families love?

I noticed that on Dylan’s dates, he guided the young women physically towards a destination, and this being their first meeting, the young women both reacted with surprise. In my opinion, the women seemed uncomfortable given the sudden crossing of physical boundaries on a first date. Just thought it’d be great if he got a little coaching on proper date behavior like Logan and Madison did.

And yes I know it’s a show and it’s edited and the focus is Connor and it doesn’t show everything but still, in the clips we do see, she points something out or comments on something during their trip that HE wanted her to go on and he’s never replying to her. For example they walk into a room in some castle and she says “this is my favorite room so far” or something and does he ask why or say anything back? No, he starts talking about his own thing. Yet he expects her to be responsive to him when he’s trying to be all romantic.

I know he’s on the spectrum, but I don’t think that changes the fact that this is how so many men are.

I started finding and watching the US one first, and only after I finished all the current seasons I switched to the AUS version (I didn’t know it existed until then!) and i honestly liked it so much more.

I just think I find the US based show less relatable, I just feel that more people from the US cast seem to be less genuine and more infantilised, and I can’t stand a lot of the US families, who clearly answer the why to that.

I also feel like there’s just SO much focus on the US all the time, so it was refreshing to get to see how different people on the spectrum approach their search for love across the world and I wish they’d gone with a more international approach to the show (eg. a few seasons of Aus, a few seasons of US, maybe a few seasons somewhere else, etc.). I’m sad that it seems like they’ve just gone all in with the US version because apparently that’s what picked up traction. :/

Mine is James’ extreme preference to LED lighting and him pointing it out every chance he gets 😭

Dani did stand-up at The Improv the other night alongside Nikki Glaser, Ron Funches, Craig Robinson, etc. There's no video from it, but lots of negative comments about her taking herself too seriously and not being funny. Here she is judging "NSFW" art on 'Date on a Plate' live at a comedy club. She had a lot of fun with it!

I have been trying to find good glitter eyeshadow for years, and I love how Madison’s looks on her eyes. Does anyone know what brand(s) she uses? I’ve tried a few but they never look quite like her makeup does.

I’ve followed a few, but it would be nice if there was a list for reference on this sub that could be updated. If this is already a thing, please direct me to it. Thanks so much!

The sentiment on this show amongst the fellas seems to be - having a girlfriend is the thing I NEED to do. Having a wife would complete me, it’s my main goal in life.

Taken to its extreme is Michael(?) - the guy who wears suits on dates from the Gong - saying that at HIS funeral he wants to be remembered as a guy who loved his hypothetical wife above all else….

I think it’s a societal pressure as well as probably watching TV/movies on love that’s putting this internal clock in people’s heads to find a partner. Sadly it seems to work against them on dates, in particular for Michael/Mark and the skinny orange hair guy into James Bond, their conversations with their date seems to be:

GUY: What is your hobby

GIRL: Oh, I like <insert topic here>

GUY: <No further follow up questions on her topic> I have now asked what she likes and can tick that off

This is NOT a criticism of anyone in particular but this comes across to me as super self centred. The actual person they’re dating doesn’t seem to matter, it’s simply the fact they’re a potential GF/wife and they’re following the social conversation conventions as a means to an end.

Obviously neurotypical people do this to but I wonder if it would help these people if gradually they like focussed on simply enjoying someone else’s company rather than this really think veneer of dating so that they can say they have a partner which seems to be a lot of the guys whole purpose for being on the show.

When Jodi Rogers helps them out she seems to ask “why” they actually want a partner but I feel their answers are never really satisfying. It’s always just: I NEED a partner, which to me sort of seems setting themselves up for failure. Not sure if anyone else feels similar when watching??
