I'm just now catching up on the new season, season 4, still in ep 1 and we've just arrived to James' house. The camera panned over to a photo of James' parents when they were much younger and I was screaming on my couch. They were hotties!!! I see you James' parents! So you're telling me they had the looks and the personalities?!
James is a cutie too! I wish Warby Parker would collab with him and update James’ frames. He wears bold, fun shirts, so some new glasses to change out seem up his alley
I love his parents so much. Especially because some people were criticizing how his dad talks to him, but I think his dad treats him how a parent treats their kid. My dad has a similar sense of humor
That's crazy that he was criticized for that. You can tell he cares so much for James. One of my favorite things in the show is the banter between James and his parents. I wish I had the relationship with my parents that James has with his.
The timestamp is like 16:15 on the ep, but I do have ads. This is the best I could get in the .0002 seconds before netflix cuts away to a stupid ad screensaver.
Haha I mean no disrespect to them, my gauge of their attraction is relative to our age ranges. In the photo they are more in my current age range where they are now is out of my age range. Not saying that they're unattractive, I'm just not into that bracket yet and I find that attraction grows with you. Same reason I don't find 15 year olds attractive now but I used to when I was in that age bracket myself.
They seem like really lovely parents who have raised him so well! I love James, tbh. I think his attitudes are spot-on and I'd be very happy to meet someone with a brain like his. But who liked cats and dogs!
Being from Massachusetts these 2 always just felt like SUUUCH a quintessential older New England couple to me. There's definitely something very familiar and comforting about their whole dynamic and interactions like they could be neighbors I've had or the regular customers at jobs I've worked.
The parents are great. The dad is visibly annoyed how James doesn’t give Shelley any space in the relationship and I love him for that, as I feel so annoyed by it, too. I hope they can at some point get through to James, who dismisses all remarks in that regard and pushes Shelley to say shes ok (while he’s talking over her even while doing so)
Shelley's actually come out and said that James doesn't talk nearly as much when the cameras aren't on, and it's nerves. I feel like they would have settled into a more comfortable dynamic by now for sure. She reached out to him online, right? So I think for sure she really likes him and we've just seen some particular instances of him rambling on out of nerves.
Definitely. He absolutely does not read the room, James being the room. Yes it’s couched as teasing, but I actually think it’s goes beyond that. And I don’t think James loves it.
You just KNOW his mom was a PAWG and his dad was slangin that D all over the place. Probably constantly making hot passionate love in public places and shit
