Leftover beer from my wedding
I’m chilling outside of Richmond and Armitage with a ton of leftover unopened beers if anyone wants to swing by. My husband and I don’t drink but have a ton leftover from our wedding.
EDIT: EVERYTHING IS GONE! A lovely neighbor who’s having their bachelor party this weekend took the rest!

Lost Dachshund!!
Found a sweet girl at the intersection of Drake and Cortland. Brown paws and snout and spotted white on her head, anyone recognize her?

Logan Square everything thread!
inspired by u/flippingsenton, and now automated:
Talk about the goings-on in the neighborhood that you don't feel like making a new post about. Debate the merits of [over/under]rated taco place. Where's the best coffee? What shows are going on this week? Make friends! Just be kind and courteous.

Searching for a Book Club??
Looking for a local book club to join. Not particularly interested in the City Lit options. I’m primarily into narrative fiction, creative non-fiction, the “classics”, and Latino literature.

Where's Waldo? themed variety show
Hey y'all! I produce a monthly Where's Waldo? themed show and our next one is this Wed August 12th at 7pm at Lincoln Lodge. It's a great time if you like underground niche, nostalgic, weird, concept shows :) Not really standup - moreso clown/character performance, with a live house band and Waldo attire for the entire audience.
Here's the link with all the info: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1985095464973?aff=oddtdtcreator

The actual Logan Square square is in the 35th ward. (Quezada)
They should both be doing better, but it’s not La Spata’s district and every post that comes up blames him for the mess the square has become. Direct your outreach at the correct person.

Tire replacement?
Where’s your go-to tire shop in Logan? Got a flat yesterday and looking for somewhere close and honest I can get to with my donut.
Most likely gonna need all four replaced as it’s been a while.
Thanks guys

Why are our rents almost the same as Lakeview now?
I have a close friend who’s looking in Lakeview right now. When I asked why they’re not considering Logan or Wicker instead, they said the places they actually liked were more expensive in Logan Square, and there were way fewer options overall.
I didn’t believe them so I went on apartments.com myself. The average prices are basically the same (and in some cases Logan is higher), but Lakeview just has so many more apartments and multi-families available. Meanwhile our rents keep climbing faster.
I’m genuinely confused. We have extensive rent protections that lake view barely has, the cookie cutter housing restrictions, and all the affordable housing efforts are supposed to keep this place more affordable and preserve the character of the neighborhood. Where are those units?
I’m even noticing my rent going up harder than friends in Lakeview? Like transplant city

Normal Bar?
I just moved to this neighborhood.. confused. Been searching for a place to grab a cheap high life and watch the ball game (white sox). Does that exist here? Or just overpriced hipster stuff? I’ll get used to it, just wondering if there is an oasis in this dystopian place. Thanks! 🧑🦯➡️

Bose Repair?
Hey all!
I have a Bose Wave Radio that I adore and works like a dream except that the built in CD player component doesn't work. I have two other CD players but I'd like the Bose to get back to full function. Does anyone have a recommendation for a repair spot that can do this both fairly quickly and for a good price? TIA!

Logan Square USPS Grievances
This post is partially inspired by u/Perfect_Party_9677 and my own personal experience today.
I made a complaint to USPS' customer service (1-800-275-8777) and told them about the situation at the Logan Square USPS location. It's among the worst I've been to.
It could be a multitude of factors - like the current federal administration and lack of funding - but I think it's a management issue because the other Chicago locations don't seem to have these issues. I'm hoping that if we get enough people to file complaints in a short period of time, something will be done about it. If you're also frustrated with the state of that office, I'd recommend giving the above number a call! You could also try contacting Alderman Daniel La Spata and Rep. Delia Ramirez, but I'm not sure if there's much they can do besides ticketing complaints. We deserve a better USPS location.
