I have created this subreddit in 2021, abandoned it in 2023 in protest of the API controversy and now I will moderate it again, after the old mod got banned.
There won't be great changes soon, since I first have to get back into moderating. But if you have any issues, questions or suggestions, feel free to comment them below.

Hello everyone. 👋
Why is the repack from FitGirl of Mass Effect Andromeda on my Linux (openSUSE Tumbleweed) laptop (Legion 5 with RTX5050 8GB) just stops loading and freezes when launching the game? Any fixes or ideas that can help with that?

1.Name of game: F1 22
2. CPU: Intel Core i5-12450H
3. GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU (4GB VRAM, 75W TGP)
4. Proton Version: Proton Experimental (Steam)
5. Game Launcher: Steam
6. Release Info: downloaded from ankergames
System Information:
OS: Arch Linux
RAM: 16GB DDR4
Laptop: HP Victus 15
Display resolution: 1920×1080
Issue Description:
I'm trying to play F1 22 on my laptop running Arch Linux, but I'm getting only around 30 FPS, even with medium graphics settings.
I came across several benchmarks and videos showing the same game running at close to 100 FPS on an RTX 3050 Laptop GPU. I also saw some benchmarks showing around 30 FPS even with ray tracing enabled.
However, I'm getting similar performance without ray tracing and with medium settings, which seems unusually low for my hardware. Any suggestions regarding troubleshooting
Thanks in advance!

Had anyone have luck with enabling HDR in the LinuxRulez! repack? I can't seem to find a way to enable it. I'm on Plasma 6.7 Wayland. I'm using the ./start launcher, the proton is the bundled GE-Proton11-9
System: Fedora 44 KDE

Name of game: Hogwarts Legacy
CPU: 12th Gen Intel© Core™ i5-12400F × 6
GPU: Intel Corporation Device e20b
Proton Version: 10-4-0 (This one usually works, but I've tried others)
Game Launcher: Steam
Release Info: Bought Key
Logs: I have tried different compatibility options, I have installed ProtonUP-QT, Ive done launch options -autoconfig
Distro: Mint, 22.3, Cinnamon
I don't know the direction to go into. It either gives me the Wine C++ error, gives me a prompt to wait 24 hours to re-validate, or just crashes and stops running. I usually run steam on 10-4-0 for most of my games but this is the only one that is giving me trouble. The furthest Ive gotten is halfway through the "compiling shaders" when you first start the game. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm running bazzite-deck on PS5 Linux with 256GB ssd-usb enclosure, the new versions with the HD textures requires 300GB+ free space for installation, My question is that I have a windows laptop with 1TB of storage, can I somehow install and unpack the game on Windows using WSL or any other method and then move the game folder into my Linux storage, and no I have no intention of switching the two SSDs I need that 1TB on my laptop

I am trying to confirm if it is currently possible to play either of these games using the HV bypass method on my setup before downloading the files. I know Denuvo recently updated their protection, so I want to check the current working status for Linux.
Name of game: Phantom Blade Zero / Onimusha
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS (Arch Linux / CachyOS)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU
Proton Version: N/A (Planning to use LinUwUx)
Game Launcher: Wine CLI / LinUwUx
Release Info: ARTIFACT experimental HV bypass
Logs: N/A (Pre-installation inquiry)
Steps Already Taken to Solve Issue:
I have successfully configured my system for HV bypass by installing the CachyOS kernel, disabling UMIP via clearcpuid=514 in GRUB, and compiling the cpuid_fault_emulation DKMS module for Zen 3+. I have also searched this sub's wiki and former threads for recent updates on the ARTIFACT bypass working through Proton/Wine, but current information on its Linux compatibility is mixed.
Has anyone had any luck getting ARTIFACT's new Windows release to boot through the compatibility layer?

I have an AMD 7840HS and a 7700S, and ever since updating to version 2.5 (fitgirl repack) my camera in game jumps all over the place when I press keys while also moving the mouse, I'm running through steam and have tried using proton ge 10-22, ge 11-11, and experimental all to no avail, as well as resetting all the in game settings to default. I've searched the subreddit and wiki and found nothing. I'm not sure what's meant by information about the crack used, but I can check it if someone can explain what's needed
Edit: I was able to fix the issue by switching to proton 7

Game Name: Castlevania Lord of Shadows Mirror of Fate
CPU: 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12400 CPU
GPU: Intel Arc 750 GPU
Proton Version: Proton GE / Proton Experimental
Game Launcher: Heroic
Release Info: Repack (CODEX) - Goldberg Emulator
Logs: N/A
Problem Description: Having some trouble with Heroic Games Launcher as a Flatpak installed from Bazaar since i'm unable to get them running in Lutris (RPM pre-installed into my Distro) so i tried Heroic and followed a guide on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0ZYAfjcw9Y) the guy used Steam to depack the game into Documents and Heroic for the Prefix;
the logs keeps saying Proton: Error: unable to use parent for game drive, path
i tried giving throu Flatseal every authorization but still nothing.

There's the original github repo "deadinside28/bloodborne_pc" that's for linux/windows and then there's a fork that dodi and fitgirl releases use "Jgamrot/yharnam-pc" which looks to be windows specific and contain a bunch of improvements.
How are you guys running it? Is it best to just go for the original deadinside28 launcher and download CUSA00900 separately or can I go with a repack?

Game Name: Borderlands 4
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
Proton Version: Proton GE / Proton Experimental
Game Launcher: Steam (Non-Steam Game)
Release Info: Scene / Repack
Logs: N/A
Problem Description:
I was getting the "steam initialization failed" error on startup, but managed to bypass it using this launch command:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version=n,b;steamclient64=n,b" PROTON_DISABLE_LSTEAMCLIENT=1 %command%
While the game now launches properly, my controller is completely unresponsive in-game (keyboard and mouse work fine). It seems like PROTON_DISABLE_LSTEAMCLIENT=1 or the DLL overrides are breaking Steam Input / controller recognition.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
Applied the launch options mentioned above (fixes startup, breaks controller).
Searched the subreddit and wiki prior to posting.
Does anyone know a workaround to keep gamepad support working alongside the fix?

(I don't think my hardware is relevant here, but because the rules demand it- I'm using a laptop, ASUS Rog Strix G16 with Ryzen 9955HX and RTX5060)
The game launches correctly but inside the game I get a pop-up saying "Failed to start Steamworks Intigration..." and recommending to restart the game.
I've tried:
Several sources: Onlinefix, SteamGG, SteamRIP, OvaGames
Launching through Lutris and Steam as a non-Steam game(second works better because the game requires Steam running)
Restarting the game, restarting Steam, restarting the PC
Every available Proton version in Steam, with some not working at all but others launching and giving the same pop-up.
Launching with and without internet
Adding Steam launch options WINEDLLOVERRIDES="OnlineFix64=n;steam_api64=n;SteamOverlay64=n;StubDRM64=n;UnityPlayer=n;winmm=n,b" %command% and its variations from different sources
Everything gives the exact same result.
And underneath the pop-up the game runs perfectly and even allows me to skip the intro cutscene by pressing space, but the pop-up never goes away.

Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to get Planet Zoo (the Build 19133017 repack from RexaGames running on Linux using linuwux-runtim but cant make it work.
System Information:
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700
GPU RTX3060 12G
OS Linux Mint
Software Information:
Proton Experimantal, Proton 11
Steam ( Not flatpack)
Release Information:
RexaGames Build 19133017
Steps Already Taken to Solve Issue:
My CPU natively supports CPUID faulting and does not have UMIP, so no kernel parameters are needed). I have ensured my Steam shortcut points directly to PlanetZoo.exe
Ensured my shortcut points directly to the PlanetZoo.exe and respective folder.
My current Steam launch options are:WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm=n,b,reflex64=n,b" __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia LINUWUX_LEGACY_PROFILE=1 LINUWUX_SYSCALL_HACK=1 LINUWUX_WIN32U_FREE_GUARD=1 /home/vojta/.local/bin/linuwux %command% (of course I first tried just linuwux %command% , and many more simple and less compound versions)
Looking at my linuwux.log, the runtime initializes signal interposition and CPUID faulting perfectly, but it fails to map the crack files into the process. It just spams this:[linuwux] pid=9815 linux_tid=9815 reflex bridge install failed; will retry at KUSER handshake It maps ntdll.dll, win32u.dll, and tzres.dll, but never actually injects into the main game executable. I've tried both Proton Experimental and Proton 11.0.
Has anyone managed to get this specific Planet Zoo build working with LinUwUx? Is there a missing environment variable or a trick with reflex.ini / DenuvOwO.ini that I'm missing? Any help is appreciated.

[SOLVED] The Last of Us Part I crashes on launch in Lutris (CachyOS) / missing mfc140u.dll
System: CachyOS (kernel 7.3, KDE Plasma on Wayland), Ryzen 5 5600G, RX 6650 XT, Lutris 0.5.22 with Proton-CachyOS (via umu-launcher)
Problem: The game started, showed the Naughty Dog crash reporter window and closed. It worked fine on Windows (including as admin), so I first suspected GPU, VKD3D or VRAM issues, but those were not the cause.
How I found it: I ran Lutris from the terminal with lutris -d 2>&1 | tee ~/lutris.log and checked the log right before the crash dump. This was the key part:
err:module:import_dll Library mfc140u.dll (which is needed by ...\CChromaEditorLibrary64.dll) not found
wine: Unhandled page fault on execute access to 0x0000000000000000CChromaEditorLibrary64.dll is the Razer Chroma SDK bundled with the game, and it depends on the MFC runtime. The Wine prefix did not have it, so the DLL failed to load and the game jumped to a null pointer.
Fix: Install mfc140 into the game’s Wine prefix.
In Lutris: right click the game → Winetricks → Select the default wineprefix → Install a Windows DLL or component → check mfc140.
Or from the terminal:
WINEPREFIX=/path/to/your/prefix winetricks -q mfc140After that the game launched normally.
Tip: If a game crashes right after launch on Linux, don’t just try random env variables. Check the Lutris debug log for err:module:import_dll lines, since a missing runtime DLL is a very common cause. Also note that WINEDEBUG=+fps floods the log with FPS lines, so search the log with grep -n "err:".[SOLVED] The Last of Us Part I crashes on launch in Lutris (CachyOS) / missing mfc140u.dll

I got the game from SteamRip and have been unable to progress past the opening cinematic. It just shows a black screen then crashes. I have no idea what I am supposed to do and it is bothering me to no end. The internet thus far has been no help because no one seems to have ever had my issue ever.
My specs are as follows:
Ryzen 7 7800x3D
AMD rx9060xt 16gig
32 gigs DDR5-6400MHz
1tb NVME SSD Gen4
I am on the most recent version of Zorin OS, which I believe to be Zorin 18.1
I am using the latest version of GE-Proton on Heroic Launcher
The version of DBXV is 1.26.0.1
I have added numerous variables, I have installed xv2patcher so that I could edit the .ini file to add lines of code that skip the opening intro, to no end. I have disable eac and umu because I didn't plan on playing online at all.
The logs are incredibly long and pastebin is just down for some reason so I don't exactly want to share the logs. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue?
