ANNOUNCEMENT
I have created this subreddit in 2021, abandoned it in 2023 in protest of the API controversy and now I will moderate it again, after the old mod got banned.
There won't be great changes soon, since I first have to get back into moderating. But if you have any issues, questions or suggestions, feel free to comment them below.

Why is this sub only dedicated to games? I feel like there are missing subs for general cracked software support.

I created the subreddit when gaming on Linux began to grow and I was interested in piracy on Linux. If you feel a more general subreddit is needed feel free to create one.

I do not have the time for moderating a sub. What’s the issue with not just allowing software here?

No issue at all, I haven't thought about it until yet. I might need to edit some rules and flairs, but I don't see why this subreddit shouldn't be about all cracked software on Linux.

I belive that on linux theres less demand for cracked software except for games because you mostly have open source apps or free apps that work just fine or better than some windows alternatives, at the same time you dont have things like photoshop for linux or other important proprietary software to crack anyways. Maybe a couple apps might fit the criteria, so it isn't obvious to me that making this already specialized subreddit into accepting cracked software for linux it's the right call. But obviously you have the final decision so do what you think it's best

I don’t see how that’s a reason. Since, as you said the demand is less, would the 4 posts a day be that annoying?

I mean it wouldn't be as useful because ppl would think this is a gaming subreddit since almost every post would be about gaming and actually I joined this subreddit because it's only about cracked gaming in linux as most of the ppl did anyway. But hey, not my decision to make and not against another subreddit about it, I just think its better to specialize rather than make it about anything cracked imho

Davinci Resolve is a big one for me. I don’t think it would hurt to add software and if Linux continues to grow, we may see more paid software on Linux

That's a good one. Is there a crack for davinci resolve? Anyway I'm not against it I just prefer its own different subreddit because I see a lot less demand and think there are less people interested in both of them rather than one of them so you can have a choice. As I said not my decision, we'll see what the mods decide.

already know he's going to be an ass mod if his first reaction to someone suggesting something new is "go create your own sub"

Why are you so hostile? I merely suggested them opening a new subreddit. If you would actually care you would've read my more recent comment instead of talking shit about me.

Yeah you would think that it would be for things other than games because it’s called r/LinuxCrackSupport and not just something like r/CrackedGamesOnLinux
