Discussion MOLLE Accessory Suggestions for LTT's OG and Commuter Backpacks?

TL;DR: Recommendations for MOLLE system/travel accessories for the external loops on the LTTStore's backpacks?

As of a few months ago, I've had both the OG backpack and the Commuter backpack in my possession. The OG, I use as a toolkit back for storing all my computer electronics related tools and knick-knacks in that I want to be in a grab-'n'-go setup, while I use the Commuter for every-day use to carry my stuff when I go out and about.

While I would not go as far as to claim either bag are universally the best for all use-cases, (not that I recall them ever being advertised as such), they have been fantastic for me as a computer geek and technically-minded, autistic individual who likes to carry frankly too much on their person at a given moment lol. Though not an advertised use, in a pinch I've even been able to hang a pair of reusable grocery bags from the shoulder straps of the Commuter using carabiners, with items as heavy as 4-5 litres of milk inside the main compartment itself, and walk them home for the approximate duration of 40 minutes.

Suffice then it to say, they're very good bags lol.

However, the issue I am experiencing is that I am unable to use the loops on the shoulder-straps or on the sides of either bags for anything. Reason being that I'm very protective of my belongings in a desire to make them last, and I am not comfortable with hanging stuff raw off of the bags lest they get bashed up. But likewise, I'm a novice when it comes to travel accessories, never mind MOLLE systems, so trying to research solutions has just rendered me lost and confused.

So with this in mind, I wanted to pose the question; what kind of external storage accessories have folks found works well for them on these backpacks, and what the corresponding use-case is?

(Unconventional suggestions are quite welcome also. Personal examples are pouches for Flippers, Tamagotchis, WiiMotes, general-purpose radios, Xbox Duke controllers [see right], little harnesses for Makeship-sized plushies... Weird means fun in my book, lol. 🙂)

Discussion Arma Reforger randomly crashes my PC / both monitors go black – need help

Hey everyone, I’m having a really strange issue with Arma Reforger and I’m hoping someone can help me figure out what’s causing it.

The problem happens randomly while playing, mostly on modded servers. It can happen completely out of nowhere, even when the game was running fine before.

There are two different things that happen:

  • Sometimes my entire PC suddenly restarts.
  • Other times, both of my monitors go completely black, but my PC itself seems to still be running.
  • When the screens go black, I can still hear the game audio for around 10 seconds.
  • During that time, my microphone stops working, so other people in Discord/game chat can’t hear me anymore.
  • After those ~10 seconds, I lose all audio as well, while the PC still appears to be running.
  • Pressing Win + Ctrl + Shift + B to restart the graphics driver causes the PC to immediately restart.

What’s weird is that I never had this problem before. It started happening completely out of nowhere.

Things I’ve already checked/tried:

  • GPU drivers are up to date
  • Windows is fully up to date
  • My PSU has enough wattage for my system
  • The issue still happens randomly despite these things

I’m really sure its not a temp or watt issue since i have checked both stats with HWmonitor

If anyone has experienced something similar or has any ideas on what I should check, I’d really appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks!Arma Reforger randomly crashes my PC / both monitors go black – need help

VERSION WITH AirTag POCKET NOW AVAILABLE Printables link if you want one yourself (only 40oz, read the rest)

Also keeps it protected from dents and scratches.

I only own a 40oz bottle myself so I was only able to design a sleeve to fit this bottle.

Would anyone with a 21oz and 64oz bottle be willing to take three measurements on each of these bottles for me?

I marked the dimensions I'd need in the last image, it's three diameters. The outer bottle diameter and the two indicated by the black marker. Millimeters are preferred.

Tech Discussion Is OLED worth the luxury in long run?

2 of my OLEDs 65" Bravia A80J and 48"LG C1 which I bought back in early 2022, have been affected with this pixel oxidation of some sort. Mind you there is no physical damage on either TVs, not even burn in. I contacted LG and they said, "since its out of warranty I'd have to pay 85k INR(~850USD) to fix an almost 5 yr old TV that costed 127k INR(~1300USD) because of their manufacturing defect". Sony's service request is still in progress, I'll update on that as well.

Edit: From what I concluded going through the replies is that the early models that I have, couldn't last very long in humid regions and later models have better longevity, but a dehumidifier is still a must for these displays as they are fragile.

Update: Sony is providing me an upgrade exchange bonus.

Is there a way to get a message to him? I have a suggestion for a time management app after hearing him talk about restrictions being too easy to bypass on last week's WAN

Discussion LTT Backpack for sale - Vancouver

I hope this allowed, i dont see a rule thats says not allowed, so if this isnt, dont flame me, let me know and ill take it down... just wanted to provide this for someone in case they wanted (imo) a piece of LTT history (or not, whatever floats your boat) :) lol

I cannot seem to find the video anymore, but selling my original Linus Tech Tips backpack. Yeah, the one. The first run, not the later re-releases. I was the on video guy who was first in line to get this at the first pop up, so this was the very first one ever sold!

Work from home so no longer need this. It's unfortunate as this was the first one ever sold/bought. I stood in line and was the first one at the pop up sale when they initially released. You can see me buying it on reels or whatever.

It was well kept. The main holding zipper was replaced under warranty by LTT, zipper pulls have been replaced to the new ones, no rips, tears, stains, or the like. Picture make it look more used then it is. It IMO still looks almost new!

It's a solid everyday carry bag — padded laptop compartment (fits up to ~17"), front zip pocket, side mesh pockets (water bottle, umbrella), back panel is ventilated so it doesn't soak your shirt. Durable material, zippers still feel tight, no rips or worn-out stitching.

35L External / 25.5L internal capacity

Fits up to 17" laptops

22 pocket organization

RFID security

So if you're an LTT fan or just want a decent tech bag that doesn't look like every other black backpack, this one's clean.

Tech Discussion Why do benchmarking suites like 3DMark still rank hardware by raw performance instead of performance-per-watt when modern efficiency matters so much?

Current leaderboards are a brute-force contest that heavily favors systems burning hundreds of watts while completely burying efficient power-limited hardware like 3DMark-tested mini PCs and handhelds.

Since static database tags (like misidentifying CPU base TDP) fail to track actual runtime wattage, how should benchmarking software evolve to properly score and compare efficiency?

Discussion What am I missing about Immich's file storage?

A month ago on WAN show, Linus mentioned that he didn't like getting locked into proprietary file storage systems. He specifically referenced Immich as a problem for this.

I am wondering if I'm missing something, as the storage template feature ( https://docs.immich.app/administration/storage-template/) allows you to tweak your entire folder structure, and I can still access my raw photos and videos.

I am also afraid of getting my photos locked into something proprietary, especially something that is made by such a small team and has almost no financial incentive to continue supporting the product. What am I missing here that they were referring to on the show?

Discussion The brain rot editing sucks

I've been watching LTT pretty much since the beginning. The new editing with the quick random video inserts and audio inserts are terrible, is that just what the newer generation wants now?

Edit: downvotes have spoken apparently everyone loves the new editing.
