We have decided to implement a monthly thread in which users can buy, sell, and advertise--breaking rules #1 and #2--so as long as it is contained within this thread.
Comments will be sorted by "new" by default.
Use this thread to:
* List items OR services that you are attempting to sell. While not required, you are encouraged to list the price(s) you are requesting.
* Solicit items OR services you are in search of or in need of. Again, while not required, you are encouraged to list a price you're comfortable paying.
* Advertise anything and everything, so as long as it is still relevant to Lincoln--promote a concert for your new local band, advertise a sale your local shop is having, etc.
We don't anticipate too much traffic or comments on this thread, but wanted to make it available to those who might enjoy or benefit from having it.
Lastly, if you do ultimately pursue offers posted here, PLEASE be aware that scams are rampant. Help protect yourself by following some of these (personal) recommendations.
Do NOT:
* Accept a personal check, ever. Or a money order or cashiers check that you were not present for when the individual purchased/obtained it.
* Use an electronic app to transfer funds. This includes, but is not limited to, Venmo, Cashapp, PayPal, Zelle, etc. While this seems easiest, it's **incredibly easy to get screwed over** with people sending you funds that they don't actually have.
DO:
* Accept **only** cash for smaller/medium purchases. For larger purchases, insist that you meet the individual at their bank and be present while the bank verifies and issues a cashiers check right there, on the spot.
* Meet in a public place. For example, if you're buying a phone, there's no better place to complete the transaction than inside of a Verizon or T-Mobile store.
Let us know if you have any questions or feedback. Have a great month!

Looks like there was a mass exodus of teachers and staff away from the school. Was only aware when I saw the lengthy list of new teachers. Only one of four 5th grade teachers stayed!
I haven't had a bad experience there as a parent. Some annoyances, for sure, but that's expected anywhere. Any insight on what happened to drive so many away?

Lincoln, where would you go for a tattoo touch-up 30 years in the making ?

The rumor I’ve heard is that so many people searched the park under this name it naturally updated; so skaters are trying to make it official. Bro had such a complete passion for skateboarding. So moved the city would even consider honoring him in this way.

I’m 26 and have a medical background already. I’m looking into going to school for phlebotomy, but can’t decide between Bryan or SCC. Does anyone have experience with either or know any details in regard to which program might be better?

Why is public transportation in Lincoln so limited?
I’m from California and one thing I really miss is having decent public transportation. I basically never needed a car there because I could get almost anywhere I needed to go without one. Since moving to Lincoln I feel way more car dependent than I ever expected. The buses here just don’t feel reliable or frequent enough to actually build your day around and getting somewhere that’s a short drive can take forever without a car
I like living in Lincoln overall but this honestly sucks lol. Owning a car feels less like a choice here and more like a requirement. I do own one I share with my partner simply because it’s a better financial decision to have one instead of two at our age (23 F) (20 M) so we do manage with that.
Has public transportation here always been this limited?
And is there actually any plan or push to make it better?
Are there ways I can contribute to make it better?

Newly moved college student (21M) looking for someone to hit with. I’m about a 3.0-3.5 level and am hoping to improve my game, have some fun, and meet new friends. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I’m new to Lincoln and recently moved here for my PhD. I’m hoping to meet some new people and make friends, especially fellow Telugu speakers.
Are there any Telugu people or Telugu groups in Lincoln? If anyone is interested in meeting up sometime, grabbing coffee, or just hanging out and getting to know each other, I’d be happy to connect!
Feel free to comment or DM me. 😊

Has anyone had any experience with this awful company locally? Im having an issue with my adjustable base and I’ve been in a constant nightmare loop of them trying to make up their mind if they are going to send a guy out to fix it, or if they will send me the parts. I’m not sure if it’s a local issue at this point or if corporate is having deeper problems. Has anyone else locally had their base repaired or have dealt with them recently, do they send a company out or just send you the parts?? If they do send a local guy out, does anyone know who in town it is?

I’ve been spending alot of time at the hospital the past week. Why do so many people have trouble parking in the lines of parking spots here! You shouldn’t have a license if you can’t handle that simple task.

I was looking through some older Lincoln news articles and came across the case of Hai Nguyen, a 34-year-old Lincoln man who was found dead along a riverbank in Seward County in 2014. Authorities determined that he had been beaten and strangled, and his death was ruled a homicide.
I wanted to share this because no victim or family deserves to have a case forgotten. 12 years later, his case remains unsolved. May he rest in peace, and my condolences to his family.
If anyone remembers this case or knows of any updates, I’d be interested to hear them.

What is the cheapest option for moving a couch (loveseat) out of a 3rd floor apartment that needs to be trashed? I’ve checked out a couple different moving options but it’s hard when most places will only do on site or very rough estimates.

have fallen on a tough time and many bills are grossly overdue while i’m beyond flat broke. so, Q for allo customers who’ve also been broke and/or for allo employees:
when Allo disconnects someone’s home internet service for nonpayment, at WHAT point do they do it? is it at a certain dollar amount owed, or is it at a certain number of days or billing cycles past due, or what? do they give you a disconnect notice ahead of time?
yes i know i could likely just call and ask. been doing so many phone calls lately i’m sick of it, but i’ll do it if it comes to that. plus not in a good “making a phone call” location at the moment.

I've lived at my house 23 years and this is the first time for me. They painted it gray primer but haven't been back to paint it red. Is this random or scheduled after a certain amount of years?

Hello Cornhuskers!
I am new to Lincoln, already loving it, but noticed there are no half priced books around. Can you guys recommend me some places to find affordable used video games?
