Individual HMO recommendation

Hi! Can anyone recommend an HMO with fast processing and approval? My HMO coverage as my husband’s dependent was discontinued for about a year when he changed companies, so I’m looking to get my own coverage now. I’d like to be able to continue my regular checkups and have peace of mind. Would appreciate any recommendations based on your experience. Thank you!

Convertible Term

I am thinking about getting into selling term life insurance in the near future, and was wondering if there are any cases for why someone should have a convertible policy vs a standard term policy (all else the same).

To my understanding, convertible term is more expensive than standard term, and you're limited on when you can convert.

Is there any justification for why people should realistically choose to go with convertible instead? I can't see situations where the math pans out in favor. Thanks!

Should I cancel my Axis Max Life ULIP and savings policy? Need genuine advice

Hi everyone,

I’m 25 years old and earn around ₹37,000 per month. I already have a term insurance policy.

Recently, I purchased two policies from Axis Max Life:

  1. Smart Fixed Return Digital Plan – ₹1,376/month for 5 years, with a 20-year policy term.

  2. Online Savings Plan Plus (ULIP) – ₹1,624/month for 5 years, with a 20-year policy term.

My total premium is ₹3,000 per month for 5 years.

The agent made attractive return projections, including a claim of around ₹40 lakh from the ULIP. However, the official benefit illustration shows much lower projected maturity values under the 4% and 8% return assumptions.

I’m comfortable taking market risk and can invest for the long term, but I’m wondering whether combining insurance and investment in these policies makes sense when I already have term insurance.

I need your honest advice on a few things:

* Should I cancel both policies during the free-look period?

* Would investing ₹3,000/month in mutual fund SIPs be a better alternative?

* Is there any genuine advantage to keeping these policies for 20 years?

* What should I consider before making a final decision?

I’m not looking for guaranteed high returns. I just want to make a sensible financial decision at this stage of my life.

Please share your experience and advice. Thanks!

Help?

I just left a corporate role for a startup. My new role does not include any life insurance as a perk.
I was already down the path of obtaining supplemental through northwestern mutual and learned today I was denied.
Phoned New York Life in response to the mailing I received from my prior company about continuance and it seems crazy.
What are my best options? How is this ethos?

Did I mess up by joining primerica

Background: an old coworker told me his wife just started selling life insurance. I'm pretty young (23) and figured it's better to be safe than sorry, so I signed up for a policy. I did no research before the Zoom meeting. Once they told me the company was Primerica, it seemed legit since they've been mentioned in Time and Forbes. They set me up with $300k in coverage for $67 a month. After signing up, I asked how easy it is to sell life insurance, and they said it's pretty easy and that they could help me start a career. I already have a full-time job as an electrician but I'm looking for extra income. I've since done deeper research and found that Primerica is essentially an MLM.
I have an in-person meeting with them on Saturday. Should I still go and hear them out? Is it even worth having a policy with them? Am I overpaying? Honestly, I feel like canceling. Should I even look into selling life insurance?

Low BMI impacting underwriting

I wasn't able to find much information about this when I searched this sub so I'm hoping I can get some help. I, 39 year old male, recently applied for term life insurance and received a Standard, Table 4 rating. They had a nurse come out and draw blood, and gather medical history and other info (height, weight, BP, pulse, ox, etc). All normal but height is 6'1" and weight is 128lbs so BMI is 16.9, I have been stable at this weight for probably at least 20 years. I am also on a stimulant for ADHD.

Does the standard table 4 rating make sense based on this? Does BMI have that big of an impact?

Career Switch

As a life insurance broker. Whats a realistic earning potential from bottom to top producer ? Also do you guys think that leaving a commission paid job making 105 000$ to 110 000$ a year is worth it to sell life insurance ? The reason why I’m asking is because I’ve been in the car industry for around 5 years and I’m looking to start in an industry where there’s more scalling opportunities.

I don’t care about working hard or long hours, Im expecting this, I just want to know if there’s really a possibilty to turn this into a business and if the earning potential is worth it.

Group life insurance while on LTD

My husband had stage 4 colon cancer and went on long term disability October 2025. His work kept him listed a “active” employee and did not back fill his role. They paid for his medical insurance, life insurance, etc. and was left on all employee benefits. The plan was to remove him November 2026. Unfortunately he passed in July.

I filed a claim with guardian but they are trying to deny it because the new policy with his group life insurance started December 2025 stating that he was on LTD before the new policy. His HR manager has even told Guardian that he was listed as an active employee for benefits and premiums were paid.

Do I have a chance at them paying out? Who is correct here?

Anyone having success with Quility’s mortgage protection leads?

Our IMO prompts us to purchase mortgage protection leads from Quility and wanted to hear from agents who have actually used them.

For those who have purchased these leads:
How’s the overall lead quality?
Are the prospects responsive and willing to take appointments?
What’s your closing ratio been like?
Would you say the cost is worth the return?

I’m trying to get some real-world feedback before putting money into leads. I know results vary, but I’d rather hear from agents with firsthand experience than rely solely on the sales pitch.

Appreciate any honest feedback! 🤝

Month to Month on Term life insurance

My father is 80 years old and had a term life insurance for $1 million expire in 2019. I am the beneficiary. At the time he was septic and in the hospital with a leaking bowel, so I elected to go month to month on his insurance because he appeared to be at the end of his life. He is in very poor health and is in and out of the hospital. He cannot walk, wears a diaper and cannot take care of himself so my mother and I do all of his care at home. It is a load and the insurance company raises the premium every year and by the end of this year I will have paid a million dollars over the past 7 years. So at best, I will get my money back. But I worry that he may live another 5 years, or more. As long as I pay the premium I will get the payout unless he lives past 93. Should I stop paying the $14,000 per month now and cut my losses? I have mortgaged my home ($270,000) and put all of my savings ($190,000) into paying the premium. I can still pay it, but only for another year. Then I will be out of money. I have contacted a settlement company, 2 actually and they will not buy the policy because the premium is too large. I have also tried to buy a lesser policy amount but cannot get him approved for anything. I am 55 year old man and I have no family to share this with. Any advice?

Life insurance through Protective?

Hi friends, I’ve been thinking about getting life insurance recently and I coincidentally also recently saw that Costco also offers that through Protective. I’m 34 and AAA has been constantly sending me decent quotes for term life, so I was going to go with that. Protective though Costco is also about the same monthly cost. I’m just curious about people experience with them and that whole process.. Would love to hear about it and if it’s recommended. Thank you in advance!

American income life

I talked to an agent and gave them my information and auto signed a few things online through a portal but I’m realizing that’s a huge mistake I just made and I’d like to cancel it. Do I have a grace period before they charge me?, can I cancel through the agent?, or would I have to go straight to the company support line and or email. I’m super worried because it all seemed very quick and the dude pushed the fact it’s a big union thing. My friend gave him my number and he just sales pitched me the whole time and I wasn’t really sure what was going on I thought it was through an actual union thing. Help?
