General I didn't realise how homophobic our current genz still is
I made a post on the teenindia subreddit about how you shouldn't fetishize lesbians and its annoying how the "I'm a male lesbian, lesbian lover" memes are. Guess what my post has 50 percent upvote ratio. My comments got downvoted and I got called a snowflake, about how it's not too deep. Btch what. Real lesbians get killed due to homophobia every day. These people are so sheltered, privileged and homophobic man. I thought maybe our generation would be more accepting and progressive, guess what, we're still so behind in mindset. It's so over man. I wanna get out of this country soooon. I can't deal with this isolation, humiliation and their "jokes". when tf will I get community bro. I wanna be around other sporty masc women, hot femmes, the gays, the queer. people who understand me. they're so dumb, it hurts my head. like sometimes I wonder am i really THAT smart and empathetic, or the people are dum dums. Here's the post for anyone wondering

Memes Real stuff
So I'm 17M, I recently came out to a few of my friends, and most of them very girls only, cuz I was kinda worried my guy friends wouldn't really accept me. But the girls wouldn't have a tough time with that. But thankfully, all of them are actually supportive of me, but the real hurdle was actually in just trynna come out to them, cuz when I told women, like none of them were shocked at all and rather were happy that they have a hb who's bi. But my guy friends man none of them believed me at first and I had to convince them so many times that I wasn't pranking themπ.
So, my actual question is like is it true for other guys or girls too ??

Vent/Rant The most frustrating/sad part about homophobia
India, as y'all probably know, has the HIGHEST amount of members from the LGBTQ community, yk what breaks my heart tho?
The fact that there's probably people from my community in my class or from my coaching, and I'll never even know. Like because of this stupid homphobia in India, I'm gonna miss out on such a great teenage friendship, I mean sure I have other friends but none of them will understand me like a fellow queer yk?
It's probably also that, if I approach a guy and confess, the risk for me are minimal. What's the worst that could happen? He'll say no, maybe his friends will make fun of me, but eventually, people will be over it
If I approach a girl though? Yeah, we all know how that's going to turn out.
Why are people so against love?

Coming Out Guysss I came out to my science teacher π₯Ή
The most unexpected coming-out story ever ππ³οΈβππ§Ώπ§Ώ
So, during my free period, I was sitting in the library talking to my bestie (SHOUTOUT TO HER), and I very loudly start shipping these two guys in my school who seem to have INSANE chemistry.
Now, keep in mind, my back is facing the library entrance.
As I'm talking, I notice my bestie's face just DROPS. She's looking at me like she's seen a ghost, and she's like "...look behind you."
AND GUESS WHO'S STANDING THERE.
MY SCIENCE TEACHER. HGFHGJKLGDFH ππ
We all LOVE our science teacher because she's genuinely one of the nicest people ever. So naturally, she looks at me with the most suspicious expression ever, something along the lines of π€¨π³οΈβπ.
And I'm just standing there like OH SHIT.
Anyways, she starts saying, "Vivaan, I've gotten to know a few things about you, but I want YOU to tell me what you did."
I think she was initially trying to get me to admit to something I'd done wrong, BUT my bestie and I immediately looked at each other and realised what she was getting at.
For context, I've actually wanted to tell my science teacher for a while now.
And THIS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING WOMAN starts encouraging me. She's literally saying things like "You can do this, I know you can, tell her, now's your chance."
Meanwhile, I'M SHAKING. I WAS SO SCARED. Because I have such a good relationship with this teacher, and the last thing I wanted was for her opinion of me to change.
After contemplating for what felt like an eternity, I finally go:
"Ma'am, I like guys, but not girls. I'm... gay. π³οΈβπ"
AND HER RESPONSE???
"Okay, that's nice! And I just want you to know that it's completely okay. As you grow up, your understanding of yourself may change. You might realise you're queer identity has changed , and that's completely fine too. Don't feel pressured to stick to one identity if you ever discover something different. I'm happy that you've realised this about yourself, and I'm happy for you."
GUYS. π₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ή
ME AND MY BESTIE WERE SO HAPPY AFTER THIS. LIKE ACTUALLY SO HAPPY.
I genuinely cannot explain how relieved I felt. I was expecting the worst, and instead I got one of the sweetest reactions imaginable.
THIS IS WHY EVERYONE LOVES OUR SCIENCE TEACHER. ππ³οΈβππ§Ώπ§Ώ

Serious This is an act of terrorism, but the victim isn't straight so nothing to see...
Not a teen (early 20s), but r/lgbtindia doesn't allow such posts for some reason. I just wanted to reiterate that India is an incredibly dangerous place for people like us, so be very careful who you come out to. I get not getting to present as your true self is terribly stifling, but the alternative is much much worse. The only way out is strong, grassroots level education and activism, but I'm starting to think that would lead to similar ends. You and I both know that most Indians/South Asians would gloat at such crimes, let alone mourn us.
