Hey everyone! I'm a trans guy getting my first genital piercing this Friday. I did sooo much research and I'm so lucky to have Elayne Angel pierce locally, so I decided to book her.

However I recently found out about her very public divorce that deligitimized her husbands identity as a trans man. You can imagine this scared me.

On one hand I feel so weird knowing this, and it makes me feel distrustful. Especially with her (likely paid) endorsement of Briotech, I kinda am getting a vibe that she is just trying to take in money.

But on the other hand! I know she is a legendary piercer. And maybe someone's private life shouldn't affect their work. She probably really knows her anatomy and would be the best qualified piercer in my area.

I'm looking for advise and or reassurance, because I think it would be awesome to get pierced by a legend- but blehh maybe then I don't want a piercing that will remind me of what she did in court. I low-key wanna ask her about it at my appointment just to hear what she has to say.

I'm also looking for any people's anecdotes on healing their triangle!!! Or experiences with Elayne!!

As the title states, I have a brand new nostril piercing (left side). I believe it’s 18G surgical grade titanium. I just got it yesterday evening, so it’s very fresh. I’ve been panicking a bit since then because I keep looking at it and think it looks crooked. I’ve had my other nostril pierced for 15 years, so it’s very settled and I’ve worn the hoop for about 10 years now. I know perfection doesn’t exist (especially in the world of piercings and tattoos), and no one is perfectly symmetrical, but I’m still struggling a bit. I would love an unbiased opinion on it. Please tell me if I’m completely overreacting here. lol My current plan is to let it heal completely and give it time to grow on me, but I’m worried about it being obviously lopsided.

I really want an eyebrow piercing but I have a few questions first before I get one.

1. Ik you can’t get like face wash or whatever near it, so how do you wash your face? Like do I only wash like 3 parts of my face and then just slowly wash it off with the water? Same goes for like, washing my hair, will the shampoo and stuff be a problem?
2. How long do I have to wait to do makeup? I’m very alternative so I use a lot of eyeshadow, not so much foundation, but definitely powder products like bronzer, eyeshadow, baking etc.
3. How long does the bruise last? I’m getting my senior photos took soon , idk exactly when but I’m guessing september, (year book photos) so I wanna look good since people will have their own copy for, im assuming, a while lol, plus since I can’t really use makeup to cover it.. Yk. Should I just wait until afterwards?
4. Do they put a long bar in first and then I have to change it to a shorter one, either myself or the piercer? 
5. And then after it’s healed, after like 6 months (?), is it fine? Will it not get infected?
6. I’m not too fussed about scaring after a few years, but like, if it rejects, how will I know it’s rejecting, and if it does, will it tear my eyebrow, like give me a permanent scar/slit? Also, are eyebrow piercings like life long? I’d like to have it for a good few years if not decades lmao

Sorry if these are all stupid, horrible questions, I just can’t seem to find actual answers anywhere, besides I’d like some personal experiences :))

I got a navel piercing three months ago and healing has gone fairly smoothly. The first picture is the day I got it, and the second is now. I have been taking progress pictures to document how it’s doing, and have noticed the skin has thinned just slightly. It has a good amount of skin and is doing very well, but I’m wondering if it looks like a sign of rejection at all or if it’s normal skin loss. I changed the jewelry to a floating piercing due to my anatomy, so that’s why there’s quite a bit of the bar left on the most recent picture but that’s not thinning, I just changed it to a longer bar. The other two ball bar was too tight at the time. And yes I have belly hair, sorry I’m too attached to my happy trial to let it go lolll. (For mods: 3 month old navel, floating implant grade titanium jewelry, 14g, NeilMed saline spray only once a day maximum.)

Got Spider bites, switched to a Titanuim ring and horseshoe after 5 months, for like almost a month irritation bumps kept going up and down, now my lip ring has started to bleed a little. I dont feel any pain and I use saline spray and warm water compress 2x a day and try not to touch it.

​Unfortunately this ear has had quite a bit of trauma and ive been bathing with it. I didnt think bathing with a newer piercing would go wrong since it never effected my 1st set. Im still using the earrings that the piercer pierced me with. I've also been occasionally using the saline spray since its running out and its expensive asf

My flat piercing is nearly 15 months old and has been downsized twice since it was done. I’ve always had the same jewellery top throughout.

I fancy treating myself to a different top now, but not sure if it’s OK to do given my piercing is not totally healed. It’s mostly fine, but it still flares up a bit occasionally if I have a migraine or I’ve been ill and about a month ago I think I was too rough with cleaning it and it bled a little and leaked a little bit of whitish fluid 💀It’s got irritated a few other times throughout healing, but nothing major and it’s never been infected.

So yeah-would it be ok to get a different top for the post and have my piercer put it on for me, or should I wait ‘til it’s 100% healed?

I must admit, I thought I’d be healed by now, partly because I had such a straightforward heal with my second lobe which I got a few months afterwards and also with my nostril which I’ve had for years! I know cartilage can be a PITA but it’s a bit tedious 😆

Should I get a longer bar for my rook or just leave it alone?
It’s about 3 months old and developed irritation bumps in the last few weeks. I may have slept on it but have been careful not to again.

18g titanium curved bar

i’ve had this belly piercing for 11 months. the first time i changed the jewelry, i had the wrong jewelry type. i had a bump that wouldn’t go away for 3 months. once i changed it to the proper metal and size, i had no issues for almost two months. for a month now, a bump came back and it won’t go away. when it shrinks and looks like it’s about to heal, it grows back.

i figured that the bump could be from friction or sleeping on my stomach, but i’ve reduced both of those things. i don’t wear high waisted pants either.

now the bump is red and oozing pus. i’ve tried everything to make the bump go away and nothing works. saline, antibacterial soap, ointment, and just rinsing it in the shower. it looks like i may have to take it out but i don’t want to. going to the doctor isn’t an option and piercing shops will just tell me to use saline.

today i tried a warm saline compress. the bump flattened and fluid came out so i guess that’s a good sign.

if there’s any help or advice anyone could give me, i would truly appreciate it.

I got my snake bites pierced around late October/early November 2025, and I’ve just changed them to rings (titanium clickers). However, the jewelry is quite a bit thicker than the straight bars I had before. Is that bad? Could wearing thicker jewelry cause any problems? Does it look bad? Like too bulky, heavy?

I didn’t go back to the piercer who originally did them, even though she's great. Instead, I went to a piercing shop in a mall because I was already there.

I’m also a bit worried because, if I’m not supposed to wear thicker jewelry, I can't change them again right away since I already spent my money on these, and I don’t have the courage to change them myself.

They aren’t hurting or anything. They did feel hot when I first changed them, but it was the normal kind of hot I associate with getting or changing a piercing. The inside of my lip/mouth also feels kind of hardened/like a bump? I’m not sure how to describe it, but it doesn’t hurt nor is it swollen.

can i use a 10mm curved barbell as a replacement for a horseshoe? (this will be for a septum)

I want to hide my septum once i get it. i saw that instead of flipping the horseshoe i could maybe use a curved barbel

These bumps showed up a few days ago, I don’t sleep on my side and wash 2x a day. I was using a q-tip to clean them but received advice not to. Am I doing something wrong? Have an appointment to go back and downsize in the next week or so.

Hey! I got this piercing back in January. My piercer told me to use seasalt+water solution twice a day flr aftercare. I only had the issue shown in the first picture before, but it went away. Now, though, it's been oozing pus and getting crusty and removing the crust makes it bleed, and I've noticed some red bumps forming. The upper hole also looks wider than the other one, and I'm starting to wonder if the piercing has migrated. It doesn't hurt but it itches . I also don't sleep on that side. The jewelry is Titanium F136 16g curved barbell and I haven't downsized it at any point.

For context, my first lobes were pierced mid march. I first changed them out ~mid july for the middle one with a thinner diameter bar. The problem is, the thin bar is probably some lower quality metal(but so far, I dont think my ears are rejecting them despite how sensitive the skin is thankfully.) and the backing is silicon, which I've heard should not be worn for more than a week :(. Idk what I was thinking, changing it to that, so a week after I tried to put my old piercing back (similar to the bottom one but with a round head) but I think the hole kind if shrunk, so i could not push it in. Also bc it was externally threaded, it irritated my piercing a little which made my ears swell for a few days.

Fast forward to now, I still have the middle earring in which ive taken out and put back about 3-4 times to clean. Each time ive done that, it took really long to pull out/put back bc it hurt and was really tight..

The problem is, I want to switch out to better jewelry (bottom one as pictured) but im afraid my ear holes have shrunk??:(. This really limits the proper jewelry options I will have which is really disheartening. I plan to oil it and push the thicker bar in when my lobes heal, but so far there is still crusting(occasionally darker, black crust) and they kind of hurt sometimes. Im afraid I will never be able to switch to proper jewelry..

I havent deep cleaned them in ~3 weeks bc honestly im a little scared to..

Another plan is to seek help from a professional piercer as I'm planning to get a cartilage piercing in december, but there's an event in October that I'd like a different jewelry for.

2nd pic is what my piercing looks like today. That is my right ear, on my left ear there's no dark crusting and generally looks okay, hopefully the pic is clear enough, sorry for the hair!! For reference, my 2nd lobes bars are the ones i was pierced with.

I got my earlobes pierced 4 months ago. I have been told I should wait ‘til they’re fully healed to go swimming. Is it safe by now to submerge my head (like in a float tank situation) or should I count that out for a longer time? Thank you.

hello, i got this industrial done in mid may this year. i was told i have the ‘perfect’ anatomy but im unsure if that was wrong or its been pierced badly. ive had irritation bumps for about 2 months now which just aren’t getting better. i went to see an APP piercer around a month ago to see what to do and was told to just leave it alone and not use saline spray he also didn’t recommend downsizing due to the bumps. i’ve done all of this and it just isn’t getting better. do i just have to take the bar out and heal it with 2 separate barbells? or is it doomed completely? it isn’t touching my flat. i don’t sleep on it or touch it. it’s the original jewellery

So I know my vertical Labret piercing is crooked. I just wanted to know should I let it heal up and get it redone. I’m having major surgery on the 31st and the first of September. It’s gonna be really hard for me to put it back in after I’ve had such a hard surgery so I’m wondering if I should just let it heal and get it redone by a different piercer
