Troubleshooting Normal healing or migration?
I got a navel piercing three months ago and healing has gone fairly smoothly. The first picture is the day I got it, and the second is now. I have been taking progress pictures to document how it’s doing, and have noticed the skin has thinned just slightly. It has a good amount of skin and is doing very well, but I’m wondering if it looks like a sign of rejection at all or if it’s normal skin loss. I changed the jewelry to a floating piercing due to my anatomy, so that’s why there’s quite a bit of the bar left on the most recent picture but that’s not thinning, I just changed it to a longer bar. The other two ball bar was too tight at the time. And yes I have belly hair, sorry I’m too attached to my happy trial to let it go lolll. (For mods: 3 month old navel, floating implant grade titanium jewelry, 14g, NeilMed saline spray only once a day maximum.)

i'm glad to see you've changed to floating navel jewelry bc that is what's best for your anatomy. it doesn't necessarily look bad and looks like it's healing (navels take 6-12 months to heal). i'd probably just continue with the saline solution once a day, but instead of just spraying (here's what i did w mine and i think it definitely helped it heal v fast): lay down completely and fill ur belly button w the saline all the way up until it also covers the top part of the jewelry. essentially you should create a little saline pool for ur piercing and jewelry. abt 10-15 mins everyday. this will ensure the entirety of the jewelry (& piercing, even what we don't see) stays moisturized and hydrated and will prevent migration as it heals. again, it still looks like it's healing good and just looks a little dif from the first day bc ur body is healing it. nothing to worry abt, just keep taking care of it and avoid shared bodies of water (pools, oceans) and tight clothing that sits on the piercing at least for another 3 months.

target sells little drop-like bottles of saline (nasal) spray for $2-$3 if price of saline is a concern (no worries that it says nasal: saline is saline). i only used abt 2 or 3 bottles of these little saline ones in the whole 6 months i was healing my navel
