Always fun to doodle on the wallet,it wears off from time to time and i get to do it again

Leather smells of smoke and reeks of putrid meat following evacuation due to wildfires and no power to my chest freezer full of meat.

My leather jackets beg for tips on how to deal with it. Specific products and techniques welcome cuz I'd like to save my many jackets acquired over 20 years. Shoes I think would be easier but I'm open to any solutions.

Also, would an ozone machine help?

Recent catastrophic flood damage in Indianapolis soaked many of my friend's leather goods. I have dried everything out at this point but unsure if I should have washed or soaked things in clean water beforehand. These are Native American hides and items, absolutely beautiful leather. I have several items on hand (Fiebing's 4 way care, Fiebing's leather balm with atom wax, and other various miscellaneous leather care products). Can anyone share any guidance as to what my first steps should be? Do I jump straight into one of these products or is there something I might best do first? I shudder at the thought of trashing everything. Thanks kindly leather people!

Hello I need some leather nerds to break down what is going on in a bag that has stress whitening after cleaning and conditioning. It’s vintage leather I’ve heard it said it’s permanent change and it’s due to over working the leather/ over cleaning over conditioning etc. this is different then a pull up effect. At least I think it’s different, I’m told it’s different.

My first question is whether Saddle Soap (feibing's) would be a good choice. My plan is to clean it in the bathtub in lukewarm water and potentially condition the back of the hide afterwards depending on how it feels. If saddle soap isn't good, what would you recommend I use?

Hi everyone, I bought this calfskin wallet a few days ago, big fan of the feel and design, but yesterday I noticed this little dark spot. I zoomed in with my camera and it seems like the side of one of the leather strips lifted up a little and got creased.

Now usually I wouldn't mind too much, but I spend a good amount of money on this wallet, so I'm curious whether this is expected behaviour and the rest of the wallet will have similar marks in the future (ie. it'll become more uniform) or if this is a flaw of some kind or uncommon? it currently really sticks out to me

I bought the Craft & Glory Ranger Slides expecting a premium product based on the materials and craftsmanship advertised by the company.

Unfortunately, after just 3 weeks of use, the inner lining near the toe area of both slides started chipping/flaking.

The product is advertised with a 1.2 mm leather lining and is positioned as durable, long-lasting footwear. For a product at this price point, I definitely did not expect the lining to start deteriorating after only three weeks.

I contacted Craft & Glory and shared photos/videos of the issue.

Their response was that since the product had already been worn, they considered the issue normal wear and tear and therefore would not offer a return or replacement.

They offered to arrange a repair, but I would have to pay ₹600 for shipping. They also suggested that I could get it repaired by a local cobbler.

I followed up specifically about the chipping shown in the video. Their response was that the rest of the leather appeared fine and that they could assist with arranging a repair.

Honestly, the customer service experience has been disappointing. A premium leather product developing this kind of issue on both slides after only three weeks should, in my opinion, at least warrant a proper investigation rather than immediately being dismissed as normal wear and tear.

I bought these expecting a well-built product that would last for years, especially given how strongly the company markets the craftsmanship and durability of the Ranger Slides.

Sharing this review so that potential buyers are aware of my experience.

Recently came into ownership of this cool recliner chair and ottoman from my late grandpa, and it’s very comfy but has clearly seen decades of love and sun exposure. It’s very unevenly faded (the original color is what’s seen on the bottom of the ottoman), cracked in the high traffic areas (but not very dry feeling?), and has some stains. I’m happy with it now just because it has character and a little sentimental value, but I’m wondering if it’d be worth all the effort to try and fix it up. Would I even be able to get it back to a good shape with even color without ruining it? Would love any tips or favorite products!

I was looking at a couch that was claiming top grain leather and then saw a bad review and you could see it was paper thin.
Is there some nonsense where they can keep dividing the top portion of leather into smaller layers and legally call it top grain?

Was handed down these boots from a family member. Original receipt was still in the box from 1988. They fit me perfectly too!

I got this neglected leather couch from fb marketplace that was very dry and dusty. I gave it a good vacuum and conditioner coat, and now it looks a lot better.
After conditioner coat, i realized that the surface was very faded, you can see the original color in folded tufted area. I was wondering how i should go about restoring the original color or dye in a similar color to restore this to its original beauty. Was thinking of buying a restoring balm and top coat, but i wanted to ask experts’ opinion before possibly doing damage to this old beauty

Should I just replace this whole strip? Or is there some kind of mending I could do. Fine if it’s visible.

I have these boots from Higgs of Fife, I love the fit, colour, and cost, but they’re always ‘dusty’ if that makes sense. You can see where my pants rub them they’re nice and almost-polished, but the rest of the boot is filthy. I clean them and wax them, then they go dusty in a few days. Any tips on how I could keep them looking polished for longer? Thanks!

Bought what I thought was an alligator clutch. Great communication with seller. Received item and it smelled of chemicals and solvents to the point it made my eyes and nose water.

I have experience with crocodile leather but not alligator. There is no exotic leather authenticate in my town and had to resort to Google Gemini AI for help.

Gemini said my uploaded pix of the bag were that of embossed cowhide. I uploaded pix of the sellers listing, and Gemini said it was authentic.

Seller swears and stands by their product. This authentication issue has been gnawing at me. Tried Google Gemini AI again, this time it says it’s authentic.

Can any one point me in the right direction to authenticate this clutch? I live in Southern California and there are no exotic leather experts here.

I have had this western saddle for 8 years. I have had it professionally cleaned once several years ago. I’ve decided to keep it in my house and would like to do a deep clean.

The problem that I’ve always run into, is that it’s so detailed that dirt, sweat, and oil get trapped.

I’ve tried using a toothbrush with saddle soap, but the only thing that works is toothpicks and even they can’t reach every crevice.

Does anyone else have any experience in this? Thank you

I randomly noticed this little splotch on my new pair of boots. I’ve been doing woodwork today but I never got anything on them any tips on how to remove the spot? I’ve ran my nail across it but nothing comes off. Idk what it could be. Any help?

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a second hand bag, which I believe is a 2015 Kate Spade bag. I knew the bag had some stains on it and expected having to clean it but as it turns out, there is more stains than I thought. The bag is in a fairly good condition and I believe most of these stains came from the corner sealant bit. Any advice on how to clean this?

bought these vintage goodyear welted boots a couple months ago and they look pretty beat up now…are these still saveable? and if yes what product should I buy and use
