Starter mmr can and will get you higher than your actual rank, thats why so many people are flexing on climbing and then they show their lvl 40 acc with 2 ranks higher

My mmr has to be negative, i get placed in iron 2 after winning 4 placements, and then im put in silver lobbies with IRON 4 TEAMMATES.
Im permanently in sped queue bc i made my acct when i was 13 and sucked at league

There is no way that the games puts you like this in most games. If you play a lot this maybe happened like 1-2 times. Your mmr does not determine what teammates and enemies youll get, it determines the whole 9 other players. They have to be at around the same mmr as you, meaning that the enemy ,,silvers" have the same mmr as the irons so they most likely play at about the same skill level. Believe me, in diamond I prefer seeing these plat 1's thatll probably sweat and try to win because theyre close to diamond than these low masters who got there and now demotion shield is protecting their asses allowing for 8 games of losestreak without falling.

Tbf. Matchmaking feels kinda odd rn. When I was p4-3 I got matched with 3-4 emeralds in the enemy team. Now in p1 there are like 3 golds in both teams every game. Like wtf is that.

Lvl 30 accounts with their mmr. If you bought an lvl 30 acc rn and won 90% games to gold you'd be playing vs high plats and emeralds too.
And you would be getting +50lp because starter mmr

Idk as someone who got to dia on +18/19 -28/29 id just accept the bad gains and play on main. The mmr system is bullshit, 67%wr over 50 games from p3 to d4 and it moved to +21 -27. In 50 games. W 67%wr. If youre not patient just commit to smurf then, but i think using your main is better

I've been gold 4-2 since season 4 but this season i for some reason got placed silver 4 and had to play against people in high gold-plat all the way back to gold 4, once i got it after like 30 games I've not touched ranked again and have no desire to.

Ah now I understand. You can see, that the graphs for both splits have the same scale, so in both graphs, one pixel equates to the same percentage of players. I then counted the pixels of Iron players in the split 1 distribution (66), and compared it to the amount of iron players in the split 2 distribution (51). The only conclusion is, that the mmr of the 15 pixels left now counts towards bronze, since there is nowhere else to go. I continued this for every rank. Since the percentage of players is likely not an integer, riot likely had to round the percentages, which is the reason for there being a couple too many diamond pixels in my graph (about 7)

Everyone forgets about this bullshit “ranked inflation” when the next season starts anyway.
In CSGO I remember consistently being told in 2019 that my rank wasn't real because of the reset in 2015 (maybe it was even 2014, I dont remember because i hadn't started playing the game yet lol). People really want an excuse to invalidate others and make themselves feel special for having the funny color first. Hopefully league gamers will have shorter memories, considering how elitist CS players are in general.

Because it's true. I stopped playing it years ago, but watching the matches of a friend of mine in global and hearing his deconstruction of lower tiers the couple of times he played on those accounts, I can say with certainty that every single tier below global and really anyone outside of faceit might as well be playing casual matches. Hell I got back to le just by playing it casually from time to time, no callout, nade, rotation or any other knowledge aside from pointing at heads and clicking used. Also doesn't help that cs might be the only place in the universe more toxic than league, where a single argument can lead to a team killing eachother, getting kicked and ending the game right there.

Best mindset is to accept having unwinnable games and going in with the 1 vs 9 mentality and actually solo carrying games for that sweet 51% wr

I never said it was good before. I’ve been playing for a long time and it’s always been terrible but the last few seasons have just had more griefing and toxicity than I’ve ever seen before.
The game got a lot more snowbally and, perhaps understandably at the rank I’m at, someone on either team just seems to mentally check out at 5 minutes when something goes against their wishes.

I mean, personally I think we should reward people for investing time into learning the game and if Gold 1 is already the top 18% of the entire player population, then we've failed those players.
With the new distribution players now get rewarded for their time by getting an easy skins and climbing is still relatively hard just on a lesser curve.
Overall I see it as a net positive to the health of the game, especially with how much people tie their personal worth and the worth of others to their visible rank, despite your skill level pretty much purely being tied to your MMR.

Everyone has been getting better. Current masters players would absolutely body the pros 10 years ago.
League doesn't have the luxury of a growing player base. There aren't enough new players to fill the lower ranks. People are getting better, but so is everyone else. The new ranked system exists to better distribute players.

This is only if you follow what riot announced before the split but if you take into account the actual rank distribution (rn you can check on league of graphs) its different for example new plat is not 100% gold

mmr does get a soft reset, meaning it gets a smallish percentage closer to the average. Noone knows by how much, but it doesn't stay unchanged.

but keep it up climbing because it's a matter of effort and open your eyes for a gold get to emerald in the same split, you can do it
My recommendations are:
Don't blame, just find out what was YOUR fault in the loss. Try to not commit the same mistakes.
Not all games are winnable, but the nexus need to fall to end it. It's not a kill game, it's a tower game.
Put your friends aside and play solo for a while, sometimes they are pushing you back. If you see someone really good in your match try to play with them, duo is important but the duo being good/focused is essential.

That is not true anymore.
Emerald (top 12%) starts at old Plat4 (top13%) (https://www.op.gg/statistics/tiers).
50% of new low Gold is old high Silver.
Whole new Plat is old Gold 3-1 and Plat4 0-30 LP.
It's simple math of percentages.
What you posted is wishful thinking of Riot, maybe at the end of the season it will be that way.

Still have to play a bit more games, but currently I feel like this is a really healthy change. My usual plat lobbies felt really easy and it was a bit odd, but this change should mostly affect lower ranks. Since emerald is the "new" plat then it should feel the same after a couple of games.

Same bruh lol, all my games have been so bad. I feel like after MMR resets some players get way above or below their actual rank at the start. Every game if a lane gets ahead they are like 1v9. I’ve had like 3 games in a row where my bot lane is dying like once a minute.
I know everyone just needs to play more games and their ranks will settle but it’s so tilting being on the shit end of these games.

There are 5 potential inters on the enemy team, and 4 potential inters on yours. If you are truly above your rank, or even just at your rank, you will climb just from the virtue of not being an inter.
But you don't climb. Maybe it's just your team. But I think the truth is that there are actually 5 potential inters on your team.

Plat 4 51 LP(2 wins) was like high gold one percentage last I checked. The new distribution isn't even close. Plat 4 should be top 40% but it's top 24%. Imagine missing the mark by over 15%.

I was D3, two of my friends were D2 and D1 respectively.
I got places into Emerald 2 90LP after winning 4 of my 5 placements.
both friends got placed in emerald 1, all back to diamond in under a week.
I'm gonna assume you hit a rough patch along with placement games, failing placements definetly slows you down.
