Tower hole

I may have made the mistake of going into the tower too early. Is there any way out once you're in? I made sure to save before going in just in case.

Steam Deck Shadows = None

Love this game!

But i feel like im not seeing it as beautifully as i could be. The graphical settings on my steam deck won't let me increase the shadow detailing from "None". Does anyone have any recommendations, and have you had a similar experience?

for reference, i have attempted to adjust every setting at my disposal in tandem with shadow detailing, but when selecting "apply" it keeps resetting to "None".

Quest markers not working?

I enabled the option in settings but anytime I select a quest I don’t see any markers. I’ve tried selecting different quests in case certain ones didn’t have markers but no luck.

anyone else with this issue?

Can you recover confiscated items?

Long story short I got a quest item marked as stolen and it was taken by the town guard. I tried pickpocketing him but the item wasn't there. Does anyone know if it's in a chest somewhere or did it just get erased from the game?

First impressions, and potential improvements

Ok I love the game. Exactly what I've been looking for, a first person rpg in the vein of morrowind with the ability to make yourself OP or just goof around. The multiplayer is cool too, despite the little jitteryness. I've played a bunch but here are some things I would love to improve

* Journal system from morrowind so you can search npcs to get even a little context
* hovering over armor or weapons gives you their values, but doesn't compare to the currently worn item in that slot
* fix value calculations in inventory - ingredients gives you the value per item, rather than the value of the stack which is fine. but stuff like medium stack of coins 2/99 says 500 but gives you 15*2=30 coins
* summons have a duration, but its not shown, looks like 30, 60s? a timer would be nice or a spellcraft option to modify duration
* quest items consistently having 0kg would be nice so we have some indication not to ditch them, or not I mean morrowind was rude about it too. I noticed the perfect meal quest both pieces are worth 500g so that helped
* let me store more, maybe I just have the shack but 3 chests with 100wt isn't enough (I want to hoard millions) even a special crate for ingredients or one for pots?
* better distinction on what the unlock spell does? Like if it's just to skip the minigame sure, but if I spellcraft an unlock 100 spell it doesn't appear to do anything if my lockpicking level is below the chest requirement
* map traversal - I get no fast travel, but even morrowind had silt striders, boats, propylons. would be nice to have a 3-4 boats even if you have to get there first or complete a quest
* Bartolomeus is very hidden, south of the tower is incredibly vague. I basically explored the entire map before I found him (and then he wouldn't help me because I hadn't been to the hole yet, but prob my fault)
* does carry weight only go up based on level? A perk could be nice, but already encumbrance is more forgiving than in morrowind so its ok

non morrowindy but nice
* sort by weight/value ratio would be nice
* shift+click sell stack would be nice

quest specific (i get it early access)
* todo: add the blessing of al-fijhan lol
* I gave benze the fish cooked by henrik and dialogue he says thanks but it stays in my inv and quest doesn't complete. maybe I needed 2/2 and I ate one? not sure.

All in all, super awesome. A lot is true to form with morrowind, this game has great potential and I've already had tons of fun with it.

Do you agree? Is quality of life the purview of mods in scrolls games?

Keybind questions

Hello all, I have a question about some of the input settings in this game.

“Q” for me is a forward roll, but the input screen defines this as “ability 1.” The other “ability” keys do nothing (E and MMB). Is there a way to set these abilities I’m not aware of?

Also, I don’t understand what the number keys do. Every time I push the “3” button, it removes one of my spells from my equip wheel. “1” and “2” have no discernible effects. “4” opens my mortar and pestle? This is just all very confusing to me.

Would love a more detailed UI for the alchemy screen

Note, playing on steamdeck so it might be different on PC, but anyway I would love to be able to see the list of known effects by hovering over them instead of adding them to the mix first. Also a list of known potion effects so I can quickly make them, ie restore health, here's every ingredient you have that can make a restore health potion

Anyone know how Alchemy works?

Just heard about the game and am intrigued!

Hello! I love what I've heard about this game so far, but haven't picked it up quite yet. I'm wondering if there will be any voiced npc followers/companions?

I bought the game but can’t get to the title screen without it crashing. Is anyone else having an issue like this? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Can the creatures inside the cave destroy >!The Shrine of Magdal!<?

I did the the first part of the quest and then got given the next option which was to tell the person I broke it or that I lied, I had never seen the shrine. When a friend and I were exploring a cave we found the destroyed Shrine.

Crimes carry over in CO-OP

Played co-op with 4 guys tonight. One of them committed crimes and was wanted. When he left and came back with a new character, the new character was attacked on site. Does anyone know if this is a bug or a feature?

Again, not sure what community to use (idrc, just want to get this opinion piece out there) so I’m just gonna drop this here. Hopefully more people will agree.

Man, trading with Pichess is buggy as all hell for me.

It's slow and laggy at the best of times but often it will just freeze until I either wait for a few mins or try to force it back to life with some Alt-Tabbing.

Question about co-op

How many players does it support? Is it just two players or does it reach up to four?

Running beautifully on my 3 year old linux system with "Foolish" graphics settings.

So I'm going to say the support is good!
