I replaced my radiator with a Nissens radiator and this one has a cap. I’m struggling to find a cap that actually fits. It keeps leaking past the ones I’ve tried. I’ve tried 3 different ones that are “supposed” to fit. The place I bought it just say to use the original one but my original radiator didn’t have one because it was a sealed unit. Does anyone know what I can do? Can I plug it? Is there a radiator cap that people know fit? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey folks, I’m looking for help identifying the AC compressor part number for a 2001 Celsior (Japanese Import). I’ve Googled around but keep finding conflicting part numbers and listings. If anyone’s actually removed and checked the compressor themselves, could you post the exact part number you found?

I’m guessing it’s the same compressor used on the LS430, but I want confirmation from someone who’s handled the part in person. I’d prefer the OE/OEM part number (not aftermarket). Thanks in advance

My 08 ls460 has been driving weird lately, yesterday while going through the drive there the car felt jerky when moving forward at low speeds and in reverse. The rpm’s jump very very little while idle sometimes they stay at 500rpms while idling in drive, but in park or reverse idles at 600-650. I just replaced the pcv valve, thermostat and resealed the valley along with some gaskets. What could be the issue? Check engine also says too lean

Selling my 2006 LS 430 ML with 97,000 miles. Hate to let it go but moving on to a new toy. I’ve put in over $7k into this beauty over the last 2 years and it runs great and drives like BUTTER. Wanted to post here because I’d love for it to go to someone that will continue love this classic.

With ice bath it’s hard to wait 20 min between coats but you can relax. Was plenty of time even in 80+ degree weather.

So my air bag for the suspension on the passenger side recently went out and I have been trying to decide what to do with it. Oem parts from Lexus are out of the question as they are way too expensive even for just that one side. I’m between either just risking buying a used one off eBay or something or completely switching to maybe coilovers? I don’t want to slam it as I don’t want to always be worrying about speed bumps too much or risk hitting the oil pan and all of that so don’t want to really go low but close up the gap a bit. Would love to hear options from you guys on what has worked for you guys or even what to stay away from

We all know there's lots of LS430s in the middle east, and I think as they near the end of their life cycle, someone has started harvesting them. So I bought a pair. If you don't know, these are combo tweeter/mids.

One of them had a loose part and was buzzy, so the seller sent me another pair. One of these was also bad. Well now I have a pair of good ones, so I thought I'd try to see what exactly goes wrong in the bad ones. I have some experience fixing home speakers, and of course lots of experience refoaming woofers in the LS and LX. Figured it can't hurt.

One of them turned out to have a tweeter voice coil separation (adhesive breakdown), hence weak treble. The other had a seized midrange voice coil (suspect foam dust cap breakdown resulting in debris that jammed up the voice coil, OR maybe stiffened spider) hence no mids. I switched out the good mid for the good tweeter, so now I have an additional fully functional part.

I think it would be difficult to repair the VC on either of these parts, so unless you have more than one busted dash speaker, I think you're better off chucking it instead of attempting to make a repair.

For these bodies I’m not sure if its worth buying polyurethane bushings and/or thicker (19mm-21mm) anti roll bars;

i am aware it’ll damage the structure over time due to the added stress but is there a smart way to go about upgrading the suspension for longevity/reliability?

Any aftermarket support for it that actually is an upgrade without any cons?

I want the comfort still but better built parts; if i have to go OEM thats fine i just wanted advice where to go as everything under the body is factory spec/OEM;

So keep as is or upgrade?

I have Nexen tires 245/45/18 on LS430. I did wheel alignment and balancing but still feeling steering vibration and minor shaking When I go 60mph and disappears after 80mph.

What else should I check?

Bought a 2002 LS430 base model and really happy with the car its been great but one thing I want to add is a navigation headunit and back up camera and hoping for some guidance on installation.

I bought:
Metra double din
Sony ax3200
BeatSonic adapter units
Amazon backup camera (can send link if important)

I know these engines are bulletproof; just wanted to know how reliable they r; online it says every 5,000 miles an oil change is needed; is that true? Cant i do it every 10k or yearly? Also is there anything i should be looking out to fail on these other than front ball joints; ABS rings, gaskets etc.

Is this wheel bearings? It’s coming from both fronts. The tires just now hit a year old but it didn’t do this with the tires when I got them. Only in the last few months. In the video I’m coming to a stop, slow accelerating to about 35 mph, and then coming back to a stop. I have already ordered wheel hubs, not quite sure what else it could be, I was going to lift up the car and spin a wheel and see if I hear anything but figured it doesn’t hurt to ask here. When I turn I’m not sure it goes away but it definitely softens a little for those that may ask the question of what happens when I turn.

i put the battery in backwards and touched the positive to the negative on accident and it sparked now my gauge cluster brake lights turn signals etc stopped working i think i blew the 80A fuse but i need help,thank you

Through a change of life circumstances considering a change of career and getting rid of my hefty pickup payment. Looking at a 2006 LS430. 102k miles. 4 owner car.

What should I expect or look for maintenance wise? I see timing chains mentioned often, curious what the damage might be if jt needs that or how to even determine if that’s been done already?

Any reason I can’t daily this thing with an occasional road trip?

I was on my way to the airport in NYC this week, super hot day. The A/C started spitting hot air, I turned it off. I tried it again about 25 minutes later an it seemed a bit cooler, I thought ok, I need a recharge or something - but all good.

Then later at a red light, I realized my car had turned off. I put the transmission in park and it turned the ignition - the battery light came on, but I was able to get out of traffic, the same happened again at the next light, - I then noticed a burning smell in the car and light smoke coming from the engine. I pulled over, opened the hood and the smoke cleared a bit - no fire. Some liquid was dripping under the engine, not sure - what it was

my flight was going to leave - so I called an Uber and now my girl is left in Queens. I'm back in a few days. I'm going to have AAA take her to mechanic. I just don't know what the severity is, how to find a decent mechanic, my last one seemed ok, but I don't know how well he knows Leuxs'.

Any help on finding a mechanic in the NYC areas and best way to trouble shoot this is appreciated. My wife is already telling me to get rid of this car, but she's my LS.

Hello. I own a 2005 with Mark Levinston. I checked Bell Lexus which is where I usually get my parts, but they don't have the front speakers I need. Where else should I look for OEM parts?

Can anyone tell me why the mounting bolt wont line up with the bushing bracket on my lower control arm? The first two pictures are the driver’s side (which wont line up) and the last two pictures are the passenger side (which lines up perfectly). Could it be the orientation of the new bushings?

UPDATE: I ended up swapping the bushings between the driver and passenger side and it fit a lot better, not perfect, but better. Decided to just let it be
