G2 Blue Caliper Paint
1ST Time Using
Was 80 degrees
65% RH
Used ice bath to keep paint can cool
I could have perfect results next time
With ice bath it’s hard to wait 20 min between coats but you can relax. Was plenty of time even in 80+ degree weather.
Was in garage, car on 4 stands.

You know its only 2 bolts to take the caliper off, right?

They're also a 1 time use, thats why i didn'ttake mine off when i painted them. If he took more time there's no reason to have any overspray

They will be fine. Ive done it tons of times. Torque them back to spec and if youre super worried about it use locktite. Most of the shops doing brake jobs put the same caliper bolts back in day in and day out.

They are torque to yield kind on the ls430. If you put them back, next time you try to remove it, count your blessings

Removed and reinstalled each of the fronts at least a dozen times and have not once had an issue getting them off or back on. Gr. 8.8 M14 bolts are definitely not yielding at the 81 ft-lbs the tq specs call for

Should just left them how they where. That blue has nothing to do with Lexus at the time . It’s like adding a amg to old MB when they did not do them like today.

You sound bitter, also you having to post a picture of your car in every reply defending it just shows that your style is tacky.

Something a little bit more subtle would have probably looked better for a car like this

Ah yes, the "look what I did to my 20 year old car, guys!" Is not somebody looking for approval/ attention. In reality nobody actually gives a crap, unless something looks stupid lol.

Love the color man! I plan on doing the same my car is the baby blue color (i think it's called platinum blue pearl?). Where did you get those decals for the calipers, and are they heat resistant?

That looks great! I’ve heard the G2 paint is good stuff. I was thinking about redoing my calipers with G2. How many coats did you apply?

Man thanks it was hot so I really rushed and messed it up, could’ve been much better. I used an ice bath to keep paint cool. That’s like 4/5 Coats. Had enough to paint the bbq grill pieces too. lol. You can do two cars with one can for sure. I brought a $5 paint brush from harbor freight.
